Will you be purchasing Thrawn?

I am so looking forward to this figure. The old comic pack Thrawn is getting very outdated. I can't wait to get Thrawn!

Not really sure on this one, I'd like to be able to see both versions beforehand. If the Ahsoka version looks how I'm expecting it to basically be Piett repainted, but who knows.

I just don't like the head design in Rebels, and we don't know what body style will be used. So it's a wait and see for me.

I’d wager they will base the headsculpt on Lars Mikkelson, but I do miss the pure red eyes he had in the EU. I’m cool with it though.

Seems weird to do him on a Rebels cardback when
1. There are no Rebels in TVC and doesn't seem likely to be anytime soon.
2. Ahsoka is coming out in 4 months with him in it.

They said it would be somewhat similar to TBS(realistic version of the animated)

I think the picture is just a placeholder and the figure will actually be from the Ahsoka series, since the only shot of GAT from from behind.

According to Bossk's Bounty he said its confirmed Rebels cardback, realistic animated design like TBS.

I think its not going to be that weird with a likely TVC Ghost coming. I bet we see some TVC Rebels for that as well, ala Kanan and maybe others that won't be packed with a possible Ahsoka-based Ghost.

I agree with the general consensus that the timing for this is odd with live-action Thrawn imminent.

Will Hasbro now put off an Ahsoka series Thrawn in TVC because this one is in the pipeline? How different will they actually be anyway? Just a different head and slightly different paint ops?

Questions, there are. Answers we seek.

For MOC collectors he'll begin a Rebels series of figures that could/should expand based on the Ghost rumors. You have to start somewhere.

Plus how do they think the fans are going to react to only getting Thrawn on a Rebels card? By doing him they're just opening the door for us to also expect Kanan for starters, but then also Agent Kallus and Fen Rau etc. etc. Does Hasbro rally want to go down that road? lol

^ Maybe? 10th anniversary next year. I'd expect the full crew on TVC cards by the end of 2024. Their consistent placement in top 50 or even 25 lists doesn't go unnoticed.

Maybe not Chopper on a card, though I'd love him to be.

Kallus would be a cool figure for sure.

Glad he is coming. Assuming Haslab Ghost becomes a reality, i have no doubt the Ghost crew will be out within the next two years or so and we'll need a few bad guys to complete our displays.

I know there's only two episodes left but there's still a rumor Fenn Rau is going to show up in the Mandalorian, so he'd be more likely there if true.

In all honesty, if this is Rebels Thrawn they could feasibly tool a new head and chest armor for the figure to create Agent Kallus. Maybe retool the legs, IDK. So I wouldn't necessarily say he's out of the realm of possibility, as I would have before this reveal.

With all the Mando craze I really do want them to get Fenn Rau out from Rebels, only because I have a feeling he'd look different in the Mandoverse. If he does indeed make an appearance there. One's I don't expect are Cikatro Vizago or that old guy voiced by Clancy brown, or any others really.

I think my most absolute want would be a Jedi Temple Guard!

I wonder if they'll include the armor Thrawn wore in some episodes of Rebels. Assuming they make it just like they did TBS Veers armor, that would be a great extra accessory.

Definitely picking this up. I don't have the old Comic pack and last time I looked he was more than I was willing to pay.

I think this is a good sign for more Rebels characters.

For everyone saying it's odd timing with Ahsoka coming out... their reveals have more often than not been a year behind. We still don't have TVC Bad Batch crew even though they debuted a year before their show started. We're getting BoBF figures just revealed NOW, a year later. At this point I think it's unrealistic to expect anything more than Ahsoka, Sabine and some other imperial actually during Ahsoka's show.

That live action still is Blue Data from Star Trek: TNG. I hope it’s just a bad pic, but if not 😬.

I do hope they will refine his look by the time the show premieres. I guess they have plenty of digital tools to help make him look better.

Man when he came up in the Bossk's Bounty interview the way they said "that reveal at the panel earlier will have no effect on this figure"
That almost came off like they had no clue he was in Ahsoka.

They did say "like TBS" but the head is a new sculpt.

So true! lol At any rate I'm glad for that, it makes me think the head sculpt will be at least somewhat normal looking. I was never a fan of the design choice for rebels with that bulbous dual forehead, but if it winds up looking similar to TBS figure that's fine. Based on that image of Lar's Thrawn I'm probably going to like the head sculpt on this Rebels version better.

As for what Patrick said I just take it to mean this figure was in development long before they learned Thrawn would be in Ahsoka, and for whatever reasons it's only being slated now. After all with that ne Imperial sculpt I'm sure they were busy thinking of who else they could make.

Surely they coordinated it. It’s a great time to release it anyway.

If this one looks too cartoony like Hunter from TBB, then it'll be an easy skip. The problem for me will be if he's cartoony, but comes with some cool accessories.

I don't think he'll be as cartoony as Hunter, if they listened to fans that is. I understand that Hasbro was likely trying to accommodate both animated and realistic collectors with a happy medium, because I'm sure they do know some out three want accurate representations of the media the character came from. However, if the head sculpt is too cartoonish for me I'll just swap it out with an extra old school Thrawn I have from the comic pack.

I was thinking the same thing. Plus....he's blue. I'm not sure how much 'realism' is really in the sights.
