Hey guys,

So, I've been doing threads like this on Statue Marvels, Statue Forum and a few other places with some pretty good success. So, in the spirit of the holidays and in community-building, I'm opening a Q&A Thread on here. Post your questions (I know some of you have a LOT, so please do me a favor and limit your posts to 1-2 questions and one post a day each so I can answer everyone's questions in a timely fashion). I'll check the thread once a day and reply to the questions posted to the best of my ability. So... what do y'all want to know?

EDIT: Mods, requesting sticky status plz. KKTHXla~!

What is GG's reaction to losing hardcore GG customers lately? Do they even care?

On you website you might have an item listed as pre-sale, but in reality it has been released. Do you plan on changing these? I wanted to use my $30 off on a maquette but it was never listed as in stock.

Also, when do you plan on releasing PGM information for 2012?

Does GG have ANY plans to produce Classic Battlestar Galactica Mini-Busts? You know a Classic Cylon with a light-up roving eye would be SICK!!!!!

Well, nothing like starting things off on the right foot, is there?

Do we care about our collectors? Yes. Can we ultimately control what our collectors decide to do with their money? No. All we can do is what we're doing right now, and that's maintaining our commitment to doing the best job we can at making cool things. Furthermore, if people have a problem with a cool thing they've bought from us, we're committed to fixing that problem as best as we can. What you guys choose to do with your disposable income is ultimately up to you.

Define "on the radar." If you mean "is he currently in the works," then yes.

What items are currently listed incorrectly? It's possible Jewell may have missed updating a few items after pre-orders were processed. If you let me know which ones I'll get them fixed.

2012 PGM info should be released early 2012. We're still finalizing a detail or two about next year's memberships.

Not at this time (although you're right, a classic toaster w/ roving eye would be sick indeed).

Nope, not readily at hand. We'd have to go back and build one. Unfortunately, that's not something we've got the manpower to do right now.

I got two questions for ya Greg.

2) What's up with the Bantha/Tusken statue?

1) More importantly, can we expect a Episode I-III Ki-Adi-Mundi mini-bust? SOON, I hope!:encouragement:

Hey Greg, there has been some talk about Star Wars taking the back seat to your comic book stuff. Is that true?

Why do your Sucker Punch statues look so much better than anything else you guys are doing right now? I so wish I could buy SW product that looks as good as my Baby Doll and Amber statues.

I have decided to stop collecting your Vintage 12" figures for 2 reasons. The quality of the figures do not equal the cost. If these figures were solid and the right color I could understand. But $80 for a hollow figure doesn't makes sense to me. Second reason is, your shipping departments inability to get a nice product shipped to me. I know you guys are more than happy to replace them, but it shouldn't work that way. I might get Blue Snags and HammerHead, but I'm done. Any chances of you guys fixing these concerns?

I haven't bought a GG item since the release of the Blue Coat Han Solo Hoth Minibust. My question for you is why should I jump back into the GG game? "Wow" me.

I have 2 questions about the recent holiday Vader bust. It's about those blue lights on his belt. Was Vader ever depicted with blue lights on his belt or did the folks who worked on the paintmaster prototype just take a shot in the dark and not bother with reference material? Also, this was pointed out as a mistake immediately when the bust was first shown and was acknowledged by Gentle Giant. Why wasn't it fixed?

1) Don't know if we have plans for one, but I'll bring it up to PD and see what they think.

1) Seriously Turbo, where do you "hear" this stuff? Or are you just making things up to stir up trouble because you're bored? :friendly_wink: We love all of our licenses equally and don't play favorites.

2) We're always looking to increase the quality of our products, regardless of license. If you compare the Sucker Punch pieces to Star Wars pieces as recent as even a year ago, SP's going to blow them away because we're growing, we're evolving, we're learning and our stuff just keeps getting better and better. You'll see the same standard of quality in our Marvel pieces, Star Wars pieces and other licenses as well.

3) Sorry to hear you feel that way. We're not planning on changing the manufacturing process.

Regarding shipping - why do I feel like I've had this conversation with you before? =) It feels silly for me to say this, but given the climate around this forum I think it needs to be said explicitly - I can assure you we're not smashing up your orders before they go out or knowingly sending out defective product in any way, shape or form. We can't control what happens to a box once it leaves the warehouse. Certain collectors repeatedly receive defective or damaged products because of the facilities and people that handle the packages while in transit. For example, I have an international customer who I've had to send replacements to on numerous occasions because he's repeatedly witnessed his regular delivery driver throwing his orders from us around, once even going so far as to take the three-point jump shot from the sidewalk on to the guy's front doorstep with a box. If you keep getting stuff delivered to you all janked up from UPS, try USPS First Class or Priority as your shipping method next time. You might have a better result. Also, as long as they're available, we will provide customers with complementary replacements if they receive a damaged, defective or otherwise busted order. That's the best we can do.

Really? Um, no.

Dude, I could stand here and give you an awesome song and dance about how amazing everything is, but why? I know there isn't anything I can say right now that's going to change your mind. Our product speaks for itself. It's not always perfect, but that's not from lack of trying on our part. Honestly, I'm sorry if you feel our stuff isn't up to your standard. We do our best, but we acknowledge that we're not going to be able to please everyone. All we can do is continue to put out the best stuff we can. If something comes along that we do that changes your mind and you decide to order it from us, SWDave, then that's awesome. If not, then you've got a bunch of disposable income you can spend on SW collectables that match your personal tastes better. Like you said yourself, "buy what you like." :)

Honestly, I can't tell you why it wasn't changed, because I don't know. All I can tell you is that it got through and there's not much we can do about it now. If you're not satisfied with the piece, please send it back and we'll be happy to give you a full refund.

Any chance of you guys making some more Halo products? If you were able to time your releases with the upcoming games I'd bet they'd be pretty popular.

Not saying your shipping department is smashing anything. Where did that come from? :drunk:Bottom line is you are using the wrong size box.

I honestly didn't think GG would fix the quality of the 12" Vintage, but the box I did.

No I'm not board, Its just been talk on the boards that the SW line is being slowed down that's all . Besides there really isn't anything that great coming out but Ponda and Veers . I just hope that 2012 isn't jammed packed full of PT. Love the SP stuff. Sucks the prices went up, but that's nothing new these days with all companies.

When will the McQ Stormy be showing up? I heard it was SDCC 2012.

Ahhh, Greg went back and added a comment in his earlier post. Yes it was there when I posted, but I didn't acknowledge the new info...until now.

Not to beat a dead horse, but GG confirmed it was fixed going into production. Which led me/us to believe the production sample featured green buttons. This is one of a handful of pieces I'm keeping as it goes nice with my Attakus V1 in my new setup. Just boggles me when communication with the factory can be so "off". Especially with the technology we have current day.

By the way, on a positive note. Thanks Greg for taking action and even creating a thread stickied for questions.

It's like "Ask VS"....but with actual GG participation.

Speaking of Vader, any plans to do a "A New Hope" version? I mean, I guess it would be a nice 2017 (40th Anniversary) release... (Ugh, thats like the future!)

Also, how about a poll here on RS to do a fan's choice kind of thing?

I would also like to step up with a positive comment, GG, in my opinion has always come on here to answer questions, we may not like the answers, but I know I've not seen that from Sideshow. I dont collect MR or some of those others so I cant speak to that. Now for the REAL question, WHERE'S JAR JAR?????? :) (Lighten up, if you've got money to buy AND ***** about this stuff, your life cant be that bad!)

With the new website...wasn't there supposed to be some type of rewards program?

SideShows seems pretty flawless in my handful of experiences with them.

Also, with threads like these on multiple forums - is the Squirrel Corner feature officially in "hibernation"?

I actually used the rewards one time, if you go to the my account page, under the section that says other features there is a link that says my rewards. From there you can redeem your points and it is applied to your next order I believe.

That's unfortunate. 2 more questions.

1. Any hint on the next TCW maquette reveal(after Oppress, AT-RT and R2)? Where's the clone love? :)

2. With Nien Numb being released next year, any chance of General Calrissian ?

Also Greg I'm sure you know this, but were disappointed in GG overall. I feel like all you hear is us frustrated but you are doing your job and beyond and we all do appreciate it. Though it might not seem like it.

Hey Greg, first question. Will there be anymore CW style mini busts, like the Bly and Fox, or are you staying with the maquettes for CW stuff from now on?

Second, Is there a Jar Jar Binks or Count Dooku with Lightsaber mini bust in the works yet?
Thanks.

Greg,

Thanks for taking on answering our questions.

1. Is the Nihilus bust a shared on-line exclusive? I just don't remember seeing the official story on him.
2. Any more video game based busts coming?

Where is the Battle Droid Mini-Bust? Estimated release?
Last I looked, they'd resolved the sound chip issue and were finally getting on to producing the edition size. Right now, it looks like he'll finally see the light of day sometime during Q2 2012.

Having just put out a new Vader as this year's holiday piece, I think it will be a while before we do another MB of him. It's hard, but we're trying to strike a solid balance between revisiting characters that we haven't done in a while that deserve multiple pieces, and covering new ground and giving some deserving characters the much-needed MB treatment.

First off, thank you for the support and kind words. =)

Second, we haven't forgotten about Jar Jar. As the pictures that have leaked indicate, there is one in development. Soon as he's through approvals, meesa thinks we'll be soliciting him.

First off, as mentioned below, yes there is a functioning rewards program running right now. Take a look at the FAQ on our website for details.

Second, who needs Squirrel's corner coming out twice a year when you can harass me daily? Seriously though, VS does enjoy doing the Q&As when she has time (that being the key phrase), so don't be surprised if you see her post revised answers to some of the stuff y'all ask me with more insider info on our blog once in a blue moon.

So... you don't want a new Rex? Sorry, just a little confused by your reply.

As for your questions:

1) I can't hint at anything now, as VS keeps the roadmap pretty close to chest. However, I can tell you that there will be more in the Animated Maquettes line. I'll chat her up at the staff meeting today and see if I can get her to give me a tidbit to share on this.

2) I'd say chances are pretty good, especially considering we're coming up on the 30th anniversary of RotJ and all. Now, that's not a guarantee or anything. Consider that a prediction coming from my magic 8 ball, rather than something I can officially confirm as a fact. Cool?

I don't see why we wouldn't do more CW style mini busts. Collectors seem to like them. Bly and Fox were hits when they were released. It's just a matter of finding the right character for that treatment. I don't think the CW style will be limited to just maquettes.

I addressed Jar Jar above. Don't know about Dooku with lightsaber (and even if I did, I wouldn't be able to confirm anything officially), but never say never.

1) Nihilus is a PBM exclusive. PBM is our Dutch distributor. I think PBM already has them in stock. If not now, then they will very soon. We'll have about 200 of them available to PGMs through our website around the middle of Q1 2012.

2) Yes.

Are you going to be at C6 and having any exclusives?

Why has the communication fallen through the cracks? One example emails going out with tracking #'s.

Any chance at all the company could destroy the prototypes of the Emperor and Nien Nunb busts and start from scratch? Any chance at all?
