G.I. Joe 3-3/4" O-Ring Line by Super7 (Fall 2024 Launch)

I'm super excited for the possibilities here. I don't buy everything from the ReAction line and I probably won't for these either, but I feel like I will likely buy more O-Ring ReAction figures than the standard 5POA ones.

There are several 5POA ReAction figures that I would love to see updated into O-ring figures; but I kind of hope they start out by correcting a few glaring omissions (like Gung Ho, Stalker, Doc, etc.)

Of course, we're going to get a Snake Eyes, Duke, Scarlet, Cobra Commander, Destro, Baroness, Storm Shadow, etc.; so there's almost no point putting any of those characters in a wishlist, because they are pretty much a given.

I dont know, because these figures have been out recently from both Hasbro o-rings and Super 7 ReAction (in fact are still out!), would they avoid them and go for other options?

I'd just assume someone like Stalker, whose ARAH and Sunbow looks are virtually identical, be kept out because we just got him from Hasbro with Bumblebee.

Zartan is a little different because his Sunbow look is slightly different than his ARAH look. Though I'd want them to consider a proper Sunbow swamp skier if he's introduced.

I mean, they have to make a Snake Eyes, right? It feels like it's been at least 20 minutes since a toy company has released a new Snake Eyes action figure, so we're clearly overdue for a new one. ;)

I suspect they'll put one out right away, but it won't be an obvious choice...

Sunbow colours Snake Eyes would be a good choice? Thats never been done before has it?

So looks like the Mothership didn't get funded?
It was a really poor campaign, so many of the details was wrong with it, it makes you wonder how these companies are still in business with some of the decision making. What a waste time time and a waste of an opportunity. Lets hope Super 7 are still invested in making O-ring figures a success. Cos they could be, I hope. It was a lot like the JP failure in terms of initial choices and compounding poor tiers, but at least they didn't launch that in December! You couldn't pick worse timing to launch an expensive collectible.

This Target listing came out way earlier than anyone expected. The first four O-rings:

Snake Eyes (Comic) - Is this the same as the Target Exclusive Issue 21 ReAction SE? Or another version from the comics?

Cover Girl (Blonde) - We got her in ReAction already, unless this version will somehow be different than that one.

Ramar (Sunbow) - A great MASS Device choice. I wonder if he'll be bigger than other figures? He should be.

Duke (Sunbow) - Is this the MASS Device version to go along with Ramar where he's wearing the mind control headband? It would make sense and has never been made before and pairs perfectly with Ramar.

This listing came WAY before I thought it would.
Some choices that I wouldnt have picked. Seems an odd first wave.

It seems like an incomplete wave. There's zero Cobra figures in it, which makes me think it's half a wave.

There's no way Super7 doesn't launch without a Cobra Commander. The only question is which one.

The leaked lists of the first figures dont excite me that much on paper. But they could be really exciting to me when we see them. I hope so.
Its also great to think we have a Slaughter, Leatherneck and Hawk on the way from Hasbro too. This yeah could be a really big year for O-Ring Joes.

BBTS put up pre-orders for the first batch of figures. October arrival and $19.99 each. No pics yet:

Cobra Commander (cartoon)
B.A.T. (comic blue)
Snake-Eyes (comic)
Cover Girl (blonde)

Super boring assortment, but not surprised being Super7. I will get the CC and see how the line feels.

It is a boring assortment. There were 2 others in additional rumour lists, Duke and a Giant or something?
Im keen to see what these look like. B.A.T. and Cover Girl are at least interesting to me.

Pages were pulled. Whoops. Did seem too early.

BAT was kind of a given since his lower half was reused in the failed Mothership campaign.

It's a safe, boring assortment. I'm probably in for CoCo and Cover Girl only.

You'd think they'd wait at least for renders to come out before putting them up for pre-order. I mean we don't even know what the overall design aesthetic will be, nevermind the individual character interpretations.

FWIW, here are the direct links -

Cover Girl (Blonde)
Snake Eyes (Comic)
Cobra B.A.T. (Comic Blue)
Cobra Commander (Cartoon)

So looks like this is the first wave?

Ramar (Sunbow)
Duke (Sunbow)
Cover Girl (Blonde)
Snake Eyes (Comic)
Cobra B.A.T. (Comic Blue)
Cobra Commander (Cartoon)

Overall Im not hugely excited at this point. I am looking forward to seeing images.
I am happy with B.A.T. and Cover Girl. The others are meh to me.
Im assuming the Snake Eyes will be blue? A Sunbow Duke and CC seems redundant since the Hasbro ones are still available in places.

Seems like things are moving and we might see images soon.....

Its interesting to see more new ReAction figures revealed today. I was hoping they would have been able to do the O-Rings now. It seems a waste to keep making more ReActions and not O-Rings.

Which figures were revealed today? Do you have a link?

Im really pleased with how these look.
The cards look amazing, Im glad they tweaked them from their Reaction line.
I cant wait till these come out. O-Rings are back! :)

Yeah, I'm pretty excited about getting more O-ring figures. Not even sure what happened to my childhood collection. Probably just sold them in a garage sale or gave them away. I've been picking up everything Hasbro was putting out the past few years. I'm just about done with what I was looking to pick up from Classified. I'm just getting 1 or 2 figures from each wave to round out what I consider core characters.

It'll be interesting to see how far S7 go with this. Their Reaction Joes line is huge. I guess they are planning to do similar.

I'm digging the Twins in their suits. The rest, ehh. Give me more stuff from the comics I couldn't get, like '83 Baroness, Billy, unmasked CC, Fred VII, etc etc.

See, I'm the opposite. I'm more interested in the Sunbow characters and designs.

Hopefully they make plenty of both.

I'm truly looking forward to this Super 7 ARAH O-ring 3.75" line. My interest in ARAH collecting is first & foremost the 3.75" scale, but only the figures that are Super-Articulated (SA) like the original 1980's/1990's ARAH figures.

I did get some of the 25th Anniversary-era & later 3.75" figures/vehicles from circa 2007- 2012-ish. And, while those were, overall, great - they weren't as nostalgic as the original O-ring figures.

^ Keep in mind that S7's line is animation and comic-inspired, not the ARAH 80s toy line. Hasbro still has those under their control to sprinkle in with the Transformers crossovers.

Completely understood. I'm just glad that new ARAH 3.75" SA figures are coming out at all, since I didn't think we'd see a mainstream ARAH line in this scale and with this SA ever again. And, it's nice that we're getting figures that weren't released earlier. I am a huge fan of the 1982-1994 ARAH Marvel comic book (less so of the cartoon), so I already like a lot of these offerings.

The last time we got anything like this were the retro ARAH Wal-mart 3.75" exclusives from several years ago. However, they peg-warmed hard & there was never that much of selection to being with. So, they never released that many figures/vehicles in that line.

Hasbro's O-ring Retro revival was decent until they quietly canned it. The figures, not 2-pack bundle configuration and flimsy card backs.

Snake Eyes/Storm Shadow
Duke/Cobra Commander
Cobra Officer/Cobra Trooper
Stinger
Skystriker HasLab

And that was it. I was all-in.

Just a very short list of ARAH Marvel comic figures (from the original series) I'd like to see in this line. Note these were specifically featured in the Marvel comics, and were not produced by Hasbro in the original 1982-199? ARAH line. Though, some of these came out much later as either G.I. Joe Fan Club online exclusives, and/or as comic packs in the 200X's:

-Billy (Cobra Commander's Son)
-Scarface (Cobra Soldier)
-Doctor Venom
-Vietnam War-era Snake Eyes (from ARAH #26-#27)
-Vietnam War-era Storm-Shadow (from ARAH #26-27)
-Vietnam War-era Stalker (from ARAH #26-27)
-Cobra Trooper w/face mask from ARAH #44

Kwin, October Guard. Endless possibilities :)
There has actually been one decent version of Kwinn the Eskimo circa 2013-ish, and the Oktober Guard were also made in two separate 3-figure comic packs in the 200X's:

However, these figures are all tough to track down these days. I would definitely like to see an upgrade of all of these:

The Oktober Guard would definitely work best as a set with all of them; maybe this could be an exclusive. I think this would sell better than if the figures were available individually - and a set would definitely be easier to track down vs. individual figures.

I'd also like to see two new O-ring Kwinns: One in the warm weather/tropical outfit, and the other in the winter parka outfit from his first appearance in G.I. Joe: ARAH #2 (1982).

Wave 1 was found at a Target in AZ. Not far from my house actually. One each of:

Cobra BAT (comic)
Cover Girl (blonde Sunbow)
Cobra Commander (Sunbow)
Snake Eyes (comic)

$20.49 each
I can't wait to buy the BAT and then buy the BAT when they release it in black and then buy the BAT when they release it in Black with a red visor. And then buy the BAT when its in Python patrol deco. And then buy the BAT when its released in Tiger Force deco. And then buy the BAT when its done in vaguely Star Wars colors. And then buy the BAT when its glow in the dark. And then buy the BAT when its clear. And then, and then, and then.... 🙃 ;)

Its great that they are here now. They look spectacular. It amazing to see painted figures and on cards. That B.A.T. looks incredible!
I'm so happy that S7 is doing these. Its a real game changer for me. I cant get into the 5POA at all. I love the Hasbro O-Ring releases, but they don't do many, and its not ideal (for me) having to but a Transformer to get them. I think S7 has done an amazing job here. The cards are perfect, from the English language Force File right down to the white border which I'm very happy about. As a carded collector I hope these are nice thick cards. Its a weird choice not to paint the rivets? I wonder why they did that?

I was never delighted with the choices for the first figures. But I'll still buy them. B.A.T. and Cover Girl are great, but I could have done without Cobra Commander and Snake Eyes. And I'm not that excited for Duke and Ramar, but I AM for the Crimson Twins. And I'm very happy to see future releases. I dont know how they are going to handle the size of Ramar, he is huge. And Fatal Fluffy will be a big figure too. I hope they do some interesting choices like they did for 5POA. Bring it on.
