Please discuss this new 3.75 scale toy here.

(I'll move the previous posts when I figure out how and have the time to do so.)

Here's a video clip. It's actually larger than I imagined. The four different droid variants thing is a mean and cunning trap for us droid fanatics. $75 each? Yikes.

I'd like to see pics of droid legs and back side. I assume all 4 are marked the same just different color.

A pic of the droid next to the BADs, or at least confirmation that they are the same mold would also be appreciated.

This is the closest pic found so far. A screen shot from the other thread. As I mentioned there, a friend of mine saw a side by pic of this droid w/ a standard 3.75" astromech on FB, but since then, he can't find it again. He thinks it may been removed. Maybe 2nd pic can confirm better. I did use old school math/ geometry and ratios on 2nd pic did suggest droid is 3.75" scale. But the only flaw in my math was allowance for potential error in 2D image vs 3D actual droid sample in hand.

TBH, it is kind of boring. And for $75? I'll pass. It's got a cool concept, don't get me wrong. But the only thing that interests me is the Droid. lol
When it comes to vehicles/ships I prefer something slightly different.

However, i can see it being cool as a physical memory of the ride for youngling's to take home. If they're still into that type of thing.
Still though $75 seems very steep for what it is, and ultimately the price people have to pay for it being Disney item.

Yeah, I look at that and think that it's not anything I would need. But after I go on the ride...it might be something I would want to have since I'll have an emotional connection to it. And I'm a middle-aged man, so that feeling would likely be much stronger for children. (No comments needed about my emotional age.)

It also allows for 2 vehicles in a diorama and is an Imperial analog for the Rebel Yavin transport.

The more pics I see of it, the more I'm liking the vehicle 😎 I'll definitely want two, one to keep as it is and another to customize. Speaking of, I can see the guy behind the Rotgut Station (Empire Toyworks) customizing the heck out of these things. Rotgut Public Transportation? Small cargo transporters? Some Disney park attendees on a ride that got pulled into a wormhole, ending up at Rotgut??

I also like that we've seen a few astromech piloted speeders in The Mandalorian. It helps for this toy to fit into the mythos, in some way.

It's pretty nice, good call on being an imperial version of the rebel transport. I'll need one for the Death Star. Probably the blue one, as it's pretty different.

Don't spoil anything, but I was really hoping we'd see a mix of droid types and paint schemes on the actual ride vehicles. One of the real joys for me when I visited GE was how cool all the paint schemes were on the various astro domes and droid parts scattered about for flavor. It's like every single astro I saw in the land was cooler and more authentic than *any* we've seen so far in the Dis Wars movies.

Thanks for pics. Looks like they have same pattern, just variant coloring. You have pics of the back side of the trunks?

Don’t get that and re-listing for the same price several times. Clearly people aren’t going to pay crazy prices.

My evac shuttle and droid arrived. Nice set in hand and mine is the white variant. Also got an extra cw 4pk to customize the other 3 droids and 1 for the blue prototype BaD from the 2012 line that didn't make it into mass production. There were 3 other prototype domes in 2012 that also were not released. I customized other parts to match those. The back side of this droid pack in is rather bland, mostly all black....update..looking at droid in better lighting, the white is more light grey than white. Imho, lt grey looks better than pure white...although the white does look good on r5-boo19.20191226_161954.jpg20191224_094514.jpgsdf138969LARGE.jpg

Admittedly, this was released shortly to my honeymoon to Disney. I almost bought it a few times, especially after getting onto the actual ride itself. It's a big toy and wasn't entirely shocked when I learned the price.

Hopefully the eBay prices keep coming down. I keep watching auctions and the cheapest all in price I've seen so far is $122. I need about another $30 off that before I bite.

So, I assuming the vehicle is same for all 4 droid variants. It'd been nice if Disney released a 4pk of the 4 variants. I got a super cheap cw disney BaD astromech 4pk. I may repaint the 3 R5s to match the 3 FO evac droids that I don't have and the R2 to match a 2012 Disney Bad prototype that didn't get into production

I managed to get the white one for $73 shipped loose off of eBay last night! Not my top droid color pick but for that price I had to pull the trigger.

The white, to me, looks better in hand than pics. It is more of a very light grey than pure white
