Discuss potential ideas for a First Order Flametrooper figure here?

Very nice, I'm in for that one. A flame effect would definitely be a cool accessory for it. I'm liking all these new troops so far.

This one isn't as impressive as the others, but if he's 3.75" SA, then I'll probably pick him up.

This guy is probably tied (with the regular Stormie) for best look, IMO. The snowtrooper looks good, but not as good as this one (for me, at least). I am all-in on a few of this guy!

Time to let the speculation begin, who wants to see the First Order Flametrooper from The Force Awakens made into a figure? What would you like to see? Maybe a little flame attachment?

Brilliant design of the armour and helmet as well as the unique variation of the weapon. It's very distinctive as it should be. My only hope is that there will be variations of the figures with scorch marks on them so they look like battle hardened vets.

probably because red would really set him apart and signify fire/heat but probably mostly because the Incinerator Troopers had it and it looked good
C'mon dude; if the Incinerator Troopers actually carried flamethrowers they wouldn't need red accents to set them apart.

Every time I see this trooper I think of Gort from 'The Day the Earth Stood Still". You just activate him with the simple phrase "Klaatu barada nikto"

While I'm excited to see the new troopers I hope they not "blink and you'll miss 'em" in the movie. I'll be irritated if they are in the movie just long enough to sell action figures.

I'm sure we'll see plenty of the flametroopers burning down the villages in TFA but overall it shouldn't be a big concern as any trooper might reappear in Ep8 or EP9 as well.

I don't think we need to see a huge variety of specialist troops in this film, personally. I loved how in ANH they were all basic Stormtrooper uniforms with just different gear essentially.

Yeah, I get this, although the sandtroopers seem almost a totally new trooper, and much superior to regular stormtroopers, simply because they have ammo pouches that might actually hold some ammo, etc. For me, it's all about sandtroopers.

Still, yeah - bring on the stormtrooper variants. Start by putting them in stores so I can actually buy them. Considering that 97% of my entire collection came from eBay, and much of that directly from sellers in China, getting the product into the stores within driving range would really help! I live in Canada's largest city. What more do I need to do?

It's an interestng Point thatz my dealer mentioned just last week. He said there are so many new troopers, what can they introduce in the follwoing films? He said in ESB they had snowtroopers and then in ROTJ, they had Scout troopers, but in TFA, it seems we'll get just about everything in the first film.

Either way, I still think all the new troopers look pretty cool.

It will be interesting to see more Rebel/Resistance troopers - not just X-wing pilots.
Yes, this would be more than welcome. I understand that it's easy to just make a new head for a Pilot, but a different rebel trooper of some sort in the TBS line would have been nice as well.

I believe we've seen a couple designs of rebel trooper in the leaked photos from shooting at that UK airbase. Particularly after that recent interview with the costume designer where he says that he wanted to keep the rebel color scheme to khakis/earth tones. The costumes looked like a cross between Rebel Honor Guards and Naboo guards to me.

After looking at the viewport in that helmet, I just wonder how anyone's supposed to see anything out of that. It's like looking through a long keyhole. Does anyone know how the SW universe explains how stormtroopers of this kind see?

You don't have to see if you look cool. Plus, how else are you expected to miss everything you shoot at all the time?

This is a classic case of form over function.

Sounds weird but I've always pictured the inside of the helmets to be kind of like Iron Mans helmet (if you've seen any of the Marvel movies) where it has all sorts of graphs, statistics etc popping up on screen

Is there anything out there to suggest that they have this?

Whoever manufactured what you are describing must have forgotten to include the targeting systems.

It's just how I picture it, Darth Vader's mask in ROTS when being lowered has a graphics and words on the eye pieces so it's not totally out of the question for troopers to have it. I kind of picture the clones and the new troopers with this technology but stormtroopers not so much lol.

I get the feeling that the Empire doesn't spend that kind of budget on the average faceless stormtrooper's kit. I remember back in the army what it was like to look out a gas mask: tunnel vision. and those round clear lenses look better for vision than those helmets. I totally hope you're right, or wish the Empire would get serious about stormtrooper armor. :)

Considering OT Trooper had eyelets, I figured they could see out of them. At least we know from Luke and HAn, that they're hard to see out of. So it's doubtful they had HUD/Targeting system in those older helmets. However, if they utilize that type of feature in the ST. TThen there wouldn't be any use for any kind of eyeholes. The helmets could be totally closed off like an actual bucket.
