Thoughts on this vehicle and figure?Who's up for a new squad of TIEs for the collection?

Like if your going to be picking this up.

I'd be in for both probably! At least one of them though.

Seems to be white or chrome-reflective solar panels, with a dark grey or black hull. Reflective cockpit window. Redesigned rear details, and perhaps a turret for the double-guns?

Anyway, pass for me.

I'd rather get this in the 3.75" scale, but who knows if that scale will even be done in TFA at this point.... :(

Agreed it looks great, but I don't know if I have enough space for it. Depends on the price too. I hope at least the TIE Pilot will be single packed as well.

Even if this was $100, I'd pass on it. It looks cool and all, but t's not worth the money.

Guys, you don't need to keep speculating on the price. I keep seeing guesses of $150 and less.

It's $170. That's the price, confirmed. So no need for the "well it depends on the price" answers. :)

I'm not interested as I don't collect 6"

What I am interested in is who's going to wait for clearance??

I think Hasbro delivered a great product here that not enough people are going to pull the trigger on until it gets down to $100. Just a guess though.

Also, are retailers really going to go for this? Hasbro's last big ship offerings didn't sell well (X-wing and Falcon). I know this is a much better and different product but retailers only see that those sucked up valuable shelf space, didn't sell and they had to clear them out.

I think they price 'em high with the intention of sales helping the price out.

I really want that figure, and the Tie Fighter is neat - but I can't do it. $170 is too much for something that would live in a box in the garage. I have nowhere to put it. I'd have to put a circular piece of glass on top of it and turn it into a table. The Tauntaun was pushing it for me.

Oh, I totally hate those big cog wheel things onboard of the solar panels.

And if it is $170 then it will probably be priced at £170 in the UK. No thanks.

I'll buy a model kit version if Revell is doing one. And I'll have room to display it.

I'll probably buy one but only if they do a new X-Wing to go with it in the same scale.

This just makes me sad that they have such contempt for the 3 3/4" inch line now. I am happy that fans of the 6 inch line are getting this but I would have loved to have this for the scale I collect in too.

This is the kind of BS that is really hurting the hobby. And Hasbro says, "Lets take one of the coolest character designs from the new movie and make it exclusive to a $170 ship that a large majority of fans and zero kids can't afford to buy." Once completionists can't complete a collection, Hasbro starts losing collectors and therefore sales, then blame us for not buying this overpriced slap in the face.

Would have bought this in 4" will skip 6"

Of all the vehicle designs we've seen from TFA so far this is the one that I'd most likely want to see in the 6" scale, so I wouldn't feel too guilty waiting for it to go on clearance, if I even decide to buy it. I just worry that it will feel like a cheap, vacuformed store display and not an actual high quality toy. For $170, this thing better have some heft to it. Still, for that price, it's going to be very easy to talk myself out of buying it when I see it in the store. I had trouble forking over $150 for the Millenium Falcon and $100 for the AT-TE, in 2008, so it's going to be even more difficult to pay $170 for a toy from a movie that I haven't even seen yet. By the time I actually do see the movie in December, I will have been been passing up on this toy for about 4 months, making the decision to actually pull the trigger on the purchase even less likely.

In other words, there is about a 10% chance that I will actually buy this thing… and that's being extremely optimistic.

So far this is my primary target come September 4th. I can't wait to fly it around the living room, er I mean put it in my display. Going to need an X-Wing now too Hasbro.

I have to admit that it looks amazing. Not sure there's a very big market for 170.00 ships in this scale, though. I would think most folks spending that kind of money are into Sideshow/Hot Toys.

Now where's the 3 3/4" version?

For a company that never wants to take risks anymore this seems like a huge risk. I will wait for the inevitable after Christmas mass blowout, after all at age 34, this ain't my first rodeo...

I think Hasbro is trying to emulate Hot Toys and Sideshow with BS like this and the Barbie looking farmboy Luke with his softgoods shirt, hoping to steal back business they've lost to the high end. I think its going to have the opposite effect though. I think people are going to start saying that if they are spending this kinda money, they might as well just put it towards high quality, higher end items and Hasbro is going to lose more business.

I was interested, but then I compared GNT's first 2 photos in his first post.

A HUGE pass for me. So disappointing. I hope any starfighters in the future have better results. *crosses fingers for Ep3 Jedi Interceptors*
