They better be using this as a way to get more of those cantina bar pieces into people's hands.

This is my #1 most wanted figure at the moment...BUT...I am worried how this will be executed. In the current climate, we may either just get Figrin and be left to 3D-printing the other instruments, or this will be a deluxe figure with all of the instruments but a bigger price tag per figure.

Concerning being able to build out the entire band, Patrick stated on today's Q&A that:
We cant go into the details quite yet. We are aware of the desire for the full band. We are talking about it in ways to make that happen, that said we can't deliver the full band in main line, so we are figuring it out. There will certainly be a main line release, but then also potentially a way to get the full band.

most probably 1 figure with all instruments in main line, so you have/could build a band of identical Bith-clones. I remember it looked weird haveing 5 identical figures ( the fan-club mail-away figures ) on the shelf, back in the old 3,75 days.....

OR
.... a later released exclusive set ( would fit for next years SDCC or something ) with slightly different Bith musicians

I don’t think we’ll get one figure with all the instruments. That’s kind of a waste anyway. Most likely they’ll release a multipack with the rest of the instruments in there. If, however, they split these figures into individual exclusives that’s going to be hell. One member will end up getting scalped like crazy and no one will be able to complete the band without dropping major dough on eBay.

Hasbro: “So business like usual?”

Well... Buying the full band of 5-6, that's like $125-$160 for the same figure with just different accessories.

The logical thing for Hasbro to do is release only 2 versions, each with their 2-3 different instruments. Won't burn the die-hard collectors trying to hunt the one exclusive, and won't punish the guy that just wants one or two but is too late on scalpers.

Another idea, why not release Figrin D'an with 2-3 instruments, then release a limited army builder pack (like the Stormtrooper and Rebel Trooper packs) with 4 additional band members with their instruments? That way we could pretty much get them all.

I would only want 3 max, seems a good enough representation for the small Cantina we are getting or could create.

Sorry, I realized the other day I didn't include proof, and I hate it when people do that. There are indeed 7 Modal Nodes (and another Bith seated at a table who isn't in the band), but you can't tell this at all in the movie. It's understandable why so many depictions over the years show only 5 band members, because it's a lot more practical, and no one has that much room in their diorama/figure shelf/Lego model/you name it. Besides that, 6-inch figures have gotten expensive. I wouldn't want a Comic Con or PulseCon boxed set to include more than 5!

These answers from Patrick, et al. are so disheartening. Why even release just Figrin D'An? Who wants one cantina musician? Time after time they show that they're totally out of touch. For another example, take their utter confusion as to why anyone would want AOTS figures to celebrate the 20th anniversary. Literally every fan site they've been interviewed by has asked them about AOTS 20th product. Guess there is no demand, though? Clueless.

(Sorry to focus on a typo. I agree with your point -- I would think that, at minimum, people would want three band members. If they don't have an idea of how to get another two out, then put at least three different instruments in with Figrin.)

TVC version revealed

I already forsee heavy reuse, when the TBS rumor comes through.
They propably add only one instrument for mainline, or all for either DLX or Exclusive🤪🤪... remember my words

I would count on the 6” version just being a scaled up version of the VC, unfortunately maybe with less accessories and maybe with the newer butterfly cap shoulders. The 3.75” is designed like a 6” figure, like so many of the newer releases. Personally I think it looks great but I definitely don’t have room for all 6/7 Modal Nodes. I think my max would be 3

Now I want a Scone Trooper...

Probably only the head, hands, and instrument(s) will be new sculpt/upscaled. The rest could very well be a repainted/molded Endor Han Solo. And don't anybody say "don't give Hasbro any ideas!" They gave me the idea with their constant, "inventive" reuse -- it's hard to not anticipate it now and guess at which existing pieces they'll use.

Exactly my thoughts. I don't collect 3,75 so the don't really know how much of reuse there is, but when checking the revealed pics, I instantly thought of "same pants as Evazan or Ponda Baba for TBS. Maybe ROTJ Luke chest and arms, too"

😂 too true. Hasbro has us trained like dogs to start looking for reuse. Heck I was looking for reuse on the 3.75” and I haven’t collected that line, other than an oddball here or there, since 2013.

Nothing says Hasbro Black Series line is now a waste of time like this release and the use of "troop build" when announcing him.
Terrible!
