Factory Entertainment- Battlestar Galactica

One of the most fan-requested lines for decades and "Factory Entertainment" got the license? I never even heard of them.

Exciting, but I need to see close-ups.

OMG, yes to this! From what little I can see in that image those look absolutely frikken amazing! Cant wait for these, and I hate to say this but could very well take over my Star Wars addition.
Now watch them be $35 each...

That is what I was thinking too. I bet they’re at least $27.99 each. The viper is probably $250. Hoping they announce prices soon though!

I’m down for one of each and extra silver Cylons.

Just noticed the display stand looks made for the Viper. Nice.

Removable helmets could be chunky. hmm.

They're committing to two bucks here so far. Moffit and more can't be far behind.

This is a case where I'll be willing to pay up for what's surely not a cheap license and not being made in huge quantities.

I’ve literally been waiting my entire life for a 1:18 scale Viper. I’m hopeful they’ll be able to offer the RDM BSG figures and ships as well. I’d kill for a 3.75 scale Raptor!
I wouldn't mind RDM BSG figures but I hope they finish the Classic mains first, specifically Adama, Tigh, Athena, Cassiopeia, Sheba, Boxy & Moffet and Jolly. Baltar as well.
I don't see Omega getting made unless Tigh or Adama do but he feels like a stretch. Dr. Salik or Wilker are also not likely.

At least now I'll have an accurate head sculpt to make Face from the A-Team!

Yeah, I zoomed in on these pics and the prototype heads look pretty decent. Much better than Hiya 1:18.

With no pricing or availability listed I don't expect to see these arrive for at least another year.

Thanks for the link, finally can see images up close that I don't have access to on SM.
I agree, on the chrome. They look okay but deco is too "dull". Granted, they are prototypes but you should really show beauty shot as this event to "sell" the lien to prospective customers.

The Humans on the other hand look really good, not TVC quality per say, but still too early to judge. I don't expect photo real or extensive articulation from a smaller company.
I just hope we don't have another "The Bridge Direct" on our hands.

What is this?

The Viper cockpit looks like it might slide open like the E-Wing with slot lines, but maybe not because there's possibly a hinge at top. Hard to tell definitively either way.

The Viper paint job is great with obvious weathering. You just know they're already working up a Cylon Raider.

I wish I were there.

^ Ah yes, I vaguely remember that. Definitely a risk here with this smaller company, though it looks like they lean heavy into props so hopefully there's more leeway on these not being their perceived primary profit driver.

Funnily enough, I was just having seller's remorse over the original Mattel line, which I had nearly the full set bar the Boray, the other day and now this news drops! Hang the price tag, i will be picking all these up and fingers crossed, if these do well, perhaps Buck Rogers and his Thunder fighter may be in the offing...?

Gosh, those helmets do look a tad bulky. My only nitpick so far is at the lack of thigh cut hips, Hasbro's kind of spoiled me with those. Not the end of the world though, they still look decently poseable.

On second thought, in regard to other IP's, I also wouldn't mind seeing them tackle V.

A nitpick: the Viper cockpit front window is way too skinny. Hero model from shooting:

Not that they shouldn't address/fix it, but seemingly the figure fits inside just fine as is. If not surely the would addressed the issue earlier during prototyping phase?

The panels are different as well, but I don’t honestly mind it.

The only reason I made the comparison is I was looking at the SDCC proto and thinking "that windscreen looks off to me."

A nitpick. I'd still buy the heck out of it.

or Lonestar!

Speaking of Lonestar, hopefully someone makes some Spaceballs figures with SpaceBalls2, the search for more money, coming soon!

Factory Ent has the RDM BSG license for 1:6 as revealed by Adama at SDCC. If they can get that then no reason they can't get it for 1:18, assuming they determine the market is there for it. Clearly they think the OG BSG market is ripe enough.

This is probably the most surprising and exciting thing to come out of SDCC. I was just thinking the other day how we need a BSG line...and a Buck Rogers line...and a V line. Let's hope they deliver the goods. I don't see anything on their website yet, but a Colonial Viper and Ceylon Raider would be dream items. My only nitpick is the finish on the Cylons. They need a metallic shine.

Yeah, I saw a video a while back speculation on whether they would this time out or not since it's Disney in charge versus George. And all they had previously was a handshake agreement not to. I would be curious if whoever the licensor of the movie is will approach Disney about it and how that may play out. If this had been back then they could have gone 6" and not competed with Star Wars, but now not so much. Would Disney have an issue with parody figures being made?

My thoughts are that for classic BSG they might see 1:18 scale a better fit while for RDM BSG who's demographic is younger 1:12 scale might be a better fit. Or would they try to go all in on one scale for "action figures", which for me is great as I mix lines.

Personally, I hope the RDM BSG characters come to the 1:18 line.

Adama
Lee
Starbuck
Chief Tyrell
Duala
Adm. Cain
Six
Baltar
Helo
Sharon
Hot Dog
Crashdown

The list goes on…Heck, some generic BSG marines would be FANTASTIC.

There’s also a lot of reuse possible between the BDU’s, flightsuits, and duty blues. They could just do male and female for all of them, change them head sculpts and accessories, and I’d still buy everything.

Mark 2 and Mark 7 Vipers…Raptor with optional launchers and miniguns…

I’m glad they started a BSG line while I’m an adult with money, because I don’t think I could have afforded this as a kid, LOL.

Don't forget the Centurions. I have a big crush on Racetrack, so we'd need her too.

Based on these protos for BSG, I'd totally be down for this Company to tackle Buck Rogers!

Yeah, those would be cool as well. This could really lead to a surge in nostalgia collecting. I don't need a ton of them, but whatever they want to make from those late 70s/early80s sci-fi stuff would be fun.
