Picked up R2-D2 (ROTJ), Power Droid, R5-D4, and TC-14. Kind of surprised to have spotted them since they sell out online all the time.
The only figure I've seen sell out in the Parks and Disney Springs has been the 40th anniversay Vader figure.

Heck,Disney Springs this weekend had ROTJ R2, Normal R2 and the 3 droid pack!

R4-G9 is an elusive little droid. He never popped up online in Europe, and due to a total lack of Disney retail outlets in Germany, I needed to resort to some Internet help. Thus, a nice guy from a Elite collecting group in the UK offered to buy one of these droids and ship it to me. How aweseome is that?

My Elite collection is complete again. Although only being a repaint, I like this guy.

I'd be happy if you follow my instagram with more Disney Elite, Micro Machines and Hot Toys.

I'm sure Disney will give us a sneak peak or two this weekend at Celebration.
Sadly, it does not appear Disney will have any new figures coming out. With no May the 4th Disney Store figure either, this may be the end of the line.

I hope not, but no news is bad news.

If this is the end, or almost the end for this line, I'm glad we got the quality droid releases over the past year.

I was at my local Disney store in the mall and I noticed they had the GNK droid marked down to $14.99. They had about 4 left. The other die-cast figures that were there about a month ago were gone now.

One of my local stores said they took the other Elite figures off the floor and put them in the back because they weren't selling and the price hadn't been reduced yet.

I agree. If they're done, at least they went out on a high note with the droids.

Those droids sadly showed the full potential of this line again. :( Troopers and droids, with some occasionally human and alien characters would have been a bright future.

I did not bury my hopes yet, as I did before, and each time, they came back. Still, if May the 4th goes without any sign, that would be the clearest sign of its death yet.

So Disney did... nothing today? Thats a bit sad... it would have been easy to throw their fans something, but their online stores only mention May the 4th for some discounts on old stock. Thats a bit disappointing.

Very sad indeed. I have been a fan of all the trooper and droid releases from this line, heck even Chewie was well done. As a MIB collector this is the perfect line for me.

I understand there have been issues from openers, but I gave a bunch of TFA Elite figures away to a charity auction at my old job and the Mom who won them told me her kids LOVED them. So I assume only collectors who are openers had issues with this line? Regardless, I have never been disappointed in any of my purchases and honestly if this is the end I will probably start filling in the holes on ebay for ones I either didn't buy or missed. Outside of the original '70s-'80s releases (mostly due to childhood nostalgia) to me this is the definitive SW toy line out there.

I'm hoping they will still do selective releases like the Anniversary Vader and a few key characters here and there rather than try to make figures tied to a particular movie. The Last Jedi Line didn't sell very well which isn't surprising; I think I only bought 3 of the releases from that film.

One of the only human characters I have in the Elite Series is Bodhi Rook because of the lack of him in other formats.

TLJ didn't sell well in any form for a reason haha. So I hope Disney did not use that as their rationale to cancel the line. I know the Elite Vader ROTJ and Droids sold well overall. The older exclusives when initially released of Vader, Maul, Stormtrooper, Boba, Grievous all sold out instantly. So who knows what the logic was?

I agree with you, selective releases make sense and I believe will always sell out if related to OT or PT characters who are not human. I'm still holding out hope for Jango Fett, Snowtrooper OT, AT AT Driver or any Clone Commander someday. But I dream...

Is there a full checklist of these anywhere? The Rebelscum archive entry doesn't appear to have all of them. Thanks.

The TFA deluxe gift set was a world wide release. Also IMO,I'd consider the Rogue One Imperial Stormtrooper to be a separate release instead of a variant because the screw holes are covered up for that release whereas the previous releases had the exposed screws in the back.

True about the ST.

However, the TFA set was never available in any Disney Stores in the EU but only in the UK. So it was something strange like a "US & UK" release, but not a worldwide release.

Yes, I have. I do checklists on all my collection topics (in Star Wars, that is Micro Machines, Disney Elite, DeAgostini, Hot Toys).

Heres the Disney one:
Its too bad this doesnt differentiate between the first release vader and the subsequent release vader.

Doesn't it? There is the OG Vader from 2015 and later the Vader unmasked with a 2018 release...
No, there was the pre-release (or whatever the initial 6 figures were called) 2015 vader for empire strikes back, and then they re-released vader in 2016.

They used the same sculpt, but the manufacturing stamp on the packaging shows the different date.

The vader unmasked was the third release of vader.

Ah okay, you mean the original D23 set Vader? Yes, I do not distinguish between production stamps if the figures have the same molds and all. Otherwise, I mention variants if they are noteworthy (e.g. different paint jobs, ...).

By the way, both Vaders are from 2016, with the unmasked Vader being from 2018.

I have a love hate relationship with them. I am missing a bunch of TLJ ones because either you pay full price or regret that you did. I didn't get unmasked vader either so i just stopped. The droid wave was awesome but came and went in the blink of an eye. I have boxloads of them and they are also cumbersome to display. But I love them too. See love hate... I dont think they will return but would not be surprised if they did.

Yeah they are only really suited to be being displayed in their boxes, so they do take up quite a bit of space.
I think I collected all of them apart from Grevious and Maul, as initially I was unsure on whether they were worth collecting as well as TBS 6”. I quickly got hooked, especially with the limited releases and occasion tie-in’s, they felt more ‘special’ and collectible than TBS 6”. Plus, I open all of my TBS 6“ to display so these were to be displayed in their box.

I feel 50/50 certain about their return for TROS, I feel as if they might release them as the line hasn’t ever officially ended, although none were released to support SOLO - however Disney Store merch to support SOLO was minimal anyway.

Fingers crossed!

So, no, i dont think we're talking about the same thing...

The D23 vader was released in early 2016 as an 8-character collectors set, which included c-3po and r2d2.

They then released those 6 figures again (no c-3po/r2d2, though), for limited times in-stores, and packaged individually rather than as a set, prior to the release of the force awakens in 2016.

There was then ANOTHER wave of vaders in 2017 that looked identical to the pre-TFA masked vaders... At least, there was in the Disney store near me. They had tons of them for about 3 to 5 months.

Then in 2018, they released the vader unmasked.

Does anyone else remember this, or have i just been teleported from a different timeline or something?

I remember it as the D23 set Vader and then a single release that came out at some point AFTER Force Friday 2015 but before TFA. That figure would go in and out of stock on the Disney site as well as Disney Stores throughout 2016- 2017. Then unmasked Vader comes out in 2018.

That is my timeline as well.
- D23 set in 2015 (before Force Friday)
- Single Vader after (not on!) Force Friday on Nov 23, with turbulent availabilty throughout the web and stores, but being the same figure
- unmasked Vader in 2018

Hmmm ok.

Maybe we're saying the same thing, but differently..?

I remeber d23 set.

Then i remember six of those figures being released one-at-a-time and one per week in the 6 weeks or so leading up to the release of the force awakens. One to commemorate each movie released leading up to TFA: maul for TPM, anakin for TCW, grievous for RotS, stormtrooper for ANH, Vader for ESB, and Fett for RotJ (or something like that).

At least in my local disney stores, once TFA was released, they shifted to only sell figures from TFA. Then after 6 months or so, when it seemed like interest in the Elite Series figures was starting to slow down a little, they started selling a vader again that was otherwise identical to the ESB early release vader described above. That guy stayed in my local Disney store, in surprisingly high numbers, for at least 3 months. I probably should have bought one (or more) at the time.

Again, maybe we're saying the same thing. I unfortunately didnt take much notice of force Friday back then, so the timing of that really isnt something i remember - which could also be throwing off my description of events.

..or maybe my Disney store wasnt very good at managing their inventory or something, and when i asked what was going on they spun some tall tale that was complete BS.
