I just got back from Star Wars Celebration Japan 10 days ago. I went to the eFX booth and they had the Kylo Ren 1:1 scale on display.

I did got some information after speaking to them.

They told me the following:
- expected to go on pre-order next month (May 2025)
- they already have all the tooling and is ready to go into production
- they plan to have it displayed vertically instead of horizontally!
- estimated price 750USD-ish (not sure how the Trump tariffs gonna effect goods going to the US though)
- Will there be an SE? eFX did contact with Adam Drivers agents. They have not heard back from them just yet. The "ball is now with them". They do hope they could do an SE. But no news still at the moment.

I was also in Celebration and I have mixed feelings with this one... didn't look "too bulky"? It almost reminds me the size of the Disney ones.
 
The Tariff thing is BS , i just got stung with a tariff charge here in Australia from Sideshow, so are we all getting charged the tariffs now not just the US, is this a BS reason for Chinese companies to charge everyone in the world with the big F you to the rest of the world ?

It's not the Chinese manufacturing companies that are charging the tariffs. The US govt are charging tariffs (or import taxes) to comapnies (Sideshow for instance), whom are importing their collectibles from China manufacturing companies. The importing companies (Sideshow) will need to pay the import tariffs to the US Govt. And the companies (Sideshow) will channel that additional cost to the consumers. So, basically, since Sideshow is being charged the tariffs by the US govt (for China-made collectibles), Sideshow will pass the cost along to you (the end consumer).

I overheard eFX did say its exactly the same dimensions as the hero prop from Lucasfilm.
eFX also said, as a prop replica company, Lucasfilm is pretty stringent to them and requires eFX to replicate them as close as possible to the filming prop.
 
Looks like they have announced the price and the edition size:

- An eFX Collectibles website exclusive
- USD799
- Limited to a mere 350 units only!

It looks like they weren’t able to work something out with Adam Driver. Bummer.☹️ I’ll still get it though.
 
This and the $1,595 Sideshow Premium Format figure...they're asking for Propshop and Prime 1 prices lately. Maddness.
 
eFX did told me the price of the Kylo Ren was supposed to be USD750. I am now thinking they add an additional 50 bucks to make it USD799 to cover the additional Tariffs. That 50 bucks is just a tariff adjustment cost. Once the tariffs is firmed up, I think its gonna be more than 50 bucks.

Same. I did contact EFX about this saber to see if a deposit is required, since there was no mention of it in the email. There is - $389. They also told me that they had no luck with getting Adam Driver on board. With that info, and them making this an EFX exclusive, leads me to believe an SE won’t happen later. The exclusives are usually reserved for the SE’s.

The tariff situation is affecting the Vader helmet stand as well. It was supposed to go up on the site this month, but they’re holding off on it until the tariffs are resolved. They are also making a height adjustment on the pole so that it’s not so high, and is more in line with their other helmet stands.

I bet if tariffs are cancelled the adjusted amount won’t be…adjusted.

So you're thinking that efx is going to take orders/payments/deposits with people thinking the full cost will be $799 but they'll later say sorry, because of tariffs the real cost is (for example) $1,000? I'm just trying to understand.
Given the current 145% tariffs, I'm actually surprised this saber is only $799 if it is indeed being made in China.
 
Just saw on FB in the Master Replicas & EFX Collectors Group, the same group that had the Giancarlo Esposito Darksaber SE exclusive, that Driver wanted more money than Hamill, hence no SE for the Kylo lightsaber. Not that I would opt for an SE but would have like it available for those who wanted it. Very disappointing IF true.

I'm on the fence with there being a $389 NRD required and it being exclusive to EFX.com. UK shipping plus VAT & Duty will be a killer and I've spent way too much over the weekend on Hot Toys, Disney, Denuo Novo & RS Prop Masters
 
Collecting is getting more & more expensive, we have to have deep pockets or be more selective of which pieces to PO , im on the fence with the new Sideshow Luke with the Xwing i think its a wonderful piece but the price is a killer for me. And i have some many PO's on atm and would like to get this Kylo saber as well, i think if EFX pulled another Luke Mondo BS and released a SE after stating they were not going to do one i think a lot of people will blow up about it !

If EFX did that again, it would piss A LOT of people off, including myself. And it would be even worse, because it would be the second time that EFX pulled that stunt. And after they said an SE won’t happen. I don’t think it will happen though, unless Adam Driver has a change of heart on his asking price. What Mark Hamill charges for a sig is ridiculous. I can’t even imagine how much Adam Driver was asking. And he was asking for more than what MH got.

I’m having to be more selective on pieces as well. Mostly because I’m running out of room. I can squeeze in smaller pieces like sabers and other replicas, and that’s about it. I was diving into Hot Toys, but after I started to get stuff out on shelves, I realized that I don’t have room for everything. So I made the decision to not collect Hot Toys, and sold off almost all the figs I had, with the exception of a couple. So now I just have a few statues, and everything else is prop replicas and helmets. The god thing is that will save me a lot of money. The bad thing is I’m pretty limited on what I can add to the collection now. Getting a handful of MR sabers back into the collection will be a priority though.

The prices don’t even reflect a higher quality either in my opinion. I’m sorry in no universe should a non-SE saber hilt cost this much especially when everyone has access to 3D printing and other more accurate options for over 1/2 the cost.
 
I wish EFX would share product lineage info and clear high resolution photos before pre-order. Propshop did that very well back in the day.

Good point! That would really help sell the product, if they can show they are able to replicate the replica as close as possible to the screen used asset.
 
After giving it some thought I'm sitting this one out. Whilst I do like the design of the hilt I don't really have any emotional attachment to the ST (I'm in different towards it and view it as a missed opportunity).
I feel it is on the expensive side compared to other offerings like the Darksaber and Luke Mando hilts, and the Ahsoka double set is only $100 more than the single Kylo hilt plus the fact it's 50% NRD and I've spent way too much on May 4th
If it had been available at distributer which would have meant a smaller NRD I may have found a way but common sense has prevailed
 
Besides the main "no SE" problem, I find myself bothered by the presentation - seems like the vertical stand would look out of place among the rest of my saber collection.

That's exactly how I felt with the Propshop saber so I had a stand/case made.
