What about seeing the movie first, in case it's complete garbage and the "dark" lightsaber has zero relevance except a (potentially) 2 second "vision" of what could be?

Just saying...

I doubt it will sell out in the next month; barely anybody (at least anybody with half a brain) buys directly from them anymore.

Pricing is way outta my league. These are secondary market prices for out of stock items. I dread to think what their Darth Vader helmet would cost nowadays.

You are all right. All the your arguments above are solid. At that price point it should be a signature edition with a cover... with electronics then maybe...

That really looks nice, but as many I am afraid of ordering from them directly and would rather wait till it is in hand.
Still am so disappointed because of the Iron Man Special Editrion helmet.

I also think it will be like the dark side cave scene of Luke. Maybe Rey will visit Dagobah as well for some reason?

Price seems reasonable to me, considering the fact that the prop is made in America. It seems like EFX is ditching unreliable Chinese manufacturers as they have been the main culprit behind substantial delays on all prop replicas. It looks like EFX found a stable and consistent manufacturer of these props at home, albeit the high pricing. Please try to remember, the price advantage is completely gone for EFX, as American labor is EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE over MANY FOLDS relative to Chinese labor and we are only talking about labor here. Most likely, direct materials cost would have increased substantially too, if they are all provided for, by American suppliers.

EFX is trying to tackle its delay problem by finding a US partner here. It's not like EFX is bringing all its manufacturing operations here back to the US for all replica lines. Also, Rey's dark lightsaber is far more intricate than "made in UK" Propshop's 3-D Printed Kylo Ren's or Rey's lightsaber (and they charged crazy amount for those), so once again, it appears that EFX's pricing is far more reasonable if we put all these facts into consideration.

I have no personal interest in this particular saber for my own collection, but the price factors seem in line with previous props from this generation for all of the reasons already given.

Sorry, I probably should have added some sort of smiley face after my last comment.
I wouldn’t order from them even if it was $15.99

You can’t compare Propshop to this offering from eFX.
For an already niche market and collector group in comparison to Master Replicas pricing their won’t be many completists in the line if other characters replicas are made at these premiums.
$1600 equates to 5 to 6 Hot Toys figures for me.

The fact that there is no mention of a shipping date, anticipated or otherwise is a big old alarm bell. Learnt to cover their backs on that one😂

Is their Mandalorian helmet also made in the US like those from Anovos are?

Wow those do look incredible but I'm sure they will never see the light of day from this vendor.

Sorry, couldn't help myself. The lightsaber looks pretty damn awesome. As others have mentioned, I'd wait to see how much screentime and significance it plays in the new film. And I am most definitely not preordering with eFX...ever.

Personally I wouldn't care if it had significant screentime or not. If it was in the movie and I thought it was cool enough, and I could afford it, I'd buy it.

Only thing I'd wait for is for EFX to have definite stock (by buying it off a trusted secondary seller)

I like the looks of the saber too, but I do think I'll wait to see its context in the movie. Far and away, what I dislike about it the most is the stand. I like general consistency between stands from the same company, and (as far as I can recall) efx hasn't done a stand like this, with the exception of the Orgus Din saber.

Looks good but that price though. If I should pick it up, it will only when the item is in stock. Pre-ordering direct from eFX,...... ain't falling for that again. Hope it does get release. Its a pretty sweet design.

I'm thinking it will be another vision sequence just like the ice mirror sequence "Show me my Parents" I believe that as of seeing the latest trailer where Rey battles Kylo she is clearly using the LUKE style blue light saber. Its probably a Force vision prediction of what could be.... based upon a certain path. Chosen. She wont take it and this is fodder

Still a neat looking saber and being made in the USA and by Chronicle I am warming up to the idea since I am happy with the Stargate Anubis and Horus 1:1 editions I recently added to my collection. Those are works of art. And the Horus was made in house in the US as well vs. the Anubis that was made in China initially. I have heard there has been issues with Chronicle in the past. At this point the only thing I am confident is there is ALWAYS issues with every replica prop producer these days. However, is this any different than 25 years ago with ICONs and Master Replicas? No sadly.

We deserve better but we are part of the problem. These preorders to gain capital are just killing the hobby. I would be happier to pay up front however DELIVER when you say you will........GC

In case they deliver it I think I'll buy one as well. Looks too good to pass, but no PO for me though.

The PO is my issue as well. I have admit it is a BA looking saber. Since its being made in the US I'm am guessing Chronicle is doing it for EFX as they have the licensing. I will need to see the movie first before I make the call.
