Just starting a new thread for discussion of the EFX dark saber announced with the Asoka WW edition of 500 announcement

So 1 item is coming out soon. They must know that we want Baylan and Shin sabers.... Right? Especially when the shin actress loves to do signings, we could have a special signed edition.

Dont know why they dont do signed editions anymore, theres no way Dawson wouldnt sign ahsoka sabers, or daisy doing darkside rey etc etc.

If they did they would have sold out in hours IMHO. Why they don't no clue however, if they are looking for an opinion.... (I have one.... work on it) Maybe the Mouse doesn't allow it? Maybe Brian was the only guy back in the day to make those connections? Missing a golden opportunity IMHO and it's what the fan base wants.

100% agree, it supports the actors/actress and gives the fans what they want. I wonder if they are aware of this demand or if no one has mentioned it to them lol

Instant PO for me

I'm in the minority but I've never really been one for signatures but I would like them to bring back SE's as an option for those of you who want them.

For me it's more about the accuracy and lineage of the prop replica to the screen used prop

You are right woody. Both options works for me always.

Rumor is actors are charging more for their autographs which adds more the product. If EFX is having a tough time selling at their SRP, adding another $100-200 could be even more difficult. Gone are the days where actors want <$50 for their autos.

Perhaps rumors of them not having their license anymore are unfounded.
Apparently not, and regardless of some delays.... They are delivering. We all know the saying. Those that know, say nothing. Right ?

Even if they lose the license, they can sell what’s been shown. Just nothing new that never been revealed.

Wonder will it be available via Sideshow, BBTS, EE, etc? Bcos I don't know if anyone would dare to place an NRD via eFX website. They might just hold on to your money till its the 10th Anniversary of the Mandalorian TV series to have it released LOL

I went looking at sideshow for the SE this might be only an EFX direct purchase. I believe the LE might make it there

Glad to see an SE for those who have been asking for it.

I'll be getting the LE via a distributor

So they managed to get a SE for the darksaber but not the Ahsoka hilts... Really odd when Rosario Dawson goes to events/promotes anything ahsoka related. From toys to artwork. No way she said no to get paid for signing plaques.. it makes me think they didnt even try.

I wonder if it’s a Disney thing and not a Dawson thing…

Everything they have announced are on the shop for pre-order besides 1 thing, so they gotta be working on new props right now. But super bad consistency when it comes to signature editions.

Honestly, I know prices have skyrocketed but I found it expensive for what it is design wise !!!

Apparently there might also be an SE version (edition size of 50) but with Esposito - being organized by a FB group.

Seems odd that there appears to be no webpage at the efx site yet advertising the preorder.

Personally I love it as it’s something slightly different and there’s so much history behind the Darksaber. I pre-ordered the LE version as already got a few nice signed photos of Bo-Katan that I plan to display with it anyway.

With how quick SE sold out i hope they do more because its clearly a good business idea lol

I was in the process of paying for a SE and as soon as I pressed pay after entering my Shopify data it was no longer available and it sold out fast. I missed it :(

Tempting....but not as tempting as it would've been a couple years ago for me. (Thanks Disney!)

I see this is being listed as another "all metal construction" piece. But like we know with the Ahsoka saber set, that could just be their general marketing term for "die-cast" as well. Does anyone know anything more about the kinds of metal or the construction process with this? Maybe molds and die-cast are the only method that works for reproducing this unusual piece, IDK, but would at least like to know.

Also, personally I am quite reticent about purchasing directly from this operation & they've earned every bit of skepticism directed their way. Do I think they'll be able to pull this release off? Probably. Although I strongly doubt they're gonna make their listed "June 2024" release window. That seems ridiculously optimistic. If that date were true, then factory production on these should already be well under way by now & nothing I've seen here in the listing convinces me they're that far along.

Efx for the last decade has felt like a collectibles company that's always right on the edge of collapse. So if I do decide to pick this up I'll probably wait for it to be listed through a third-party like Sideshow where I can feel comfortable a surprise bankruptcy isn't going to jump up and bite me on the behind.

Or maybe I just don't care enough to care about this stuff anymore. The way this Darksaber storyline ended with Mando just basically handing it over to his Girl Boss on a stupid technicality was just yet another eye-rolling scenario that made S3 a painful watch overall.

Tbh mando couldnt use the darksaber, and he didnt give it to some random "girl boss", he gave it to Bo Katan. Someone that actually deserves and should have the darksaber. Mando didnt even care about it. But to answer your question about the constitution, yes it is being made with die-cast, they said it in this video
