Your Instagram has better updates than efx!

I always figured before Xmas was realistic so they can keep updating and I won't be surprised until it says "ETA end of January".

I noticed the FETT PCR in the video is sporting one of those new clear EFX acrylic crap stands. Those are now available for pre-order as well..... Maybe this will see the light of day in... 2020ish

Just FYI... awhile back, I asked in here if anyone had tried canceling their preorder and how the refund process went. I finally gave up on this thing last week, sent them a ticket to cancel my order which was processed within a couple hours and I got my refund 3 days later. So glad I didn’t have to fight to get my money back, like I thought might be the case.

Good luck to everyone continuing to wait them out!

Currently...and subject to change.

Looking at production pics, I'm still hopeful for a 2019 delivery.

I'm actually with you - I'd love nothing more than for EFX (Anovos, or any other prop manufacturer) to get their acts together, and have this delivered next month.

No one wants to waste time and energy complaining about this - all we want is quality products that we can share our love for. But the sad reality is, this hobby has gone completely to **** in the last few years, and EFX was one of (if not the primary) culprits of our current state of affairs. People's relentless support of their actions has done nothing but "enable" them to "get away with" what they have.

God, look how vapid and empty this section of the forum is these days. Just sad...

So yeah... fingers crossed it's a 2019 release.

Well said, I couldn't agree more. I miss the old days, when GL refused to comprise on his vision (good or bad) before he sold his baby to "white slavers". If you want to kill good ideas, let management (Iger/Kennedy) take creative control. I know you meant collecting, but I strongly dislike almost everything Disney has done with SW. And Galaxy's Edge is horrible!!! What a waste...

Did you actually go - so it's as bad as everyone is saying? Sad. I can't fathom why they wouldn't have made somewhere directly out of the films (like the Harry Potter world).

Yeah, SW is in a very weird place at the moment. I really hope The Mandalorian and the Obi-Wan series are good (hope, being the key word there :))

I did, it's highly disappointing. The MF ride sucks, but maybe when Rise of the Resistance opens it'll improve the park. Right now it's a concrete shopping mall.

Smuggler's Run is a great ride *as long as you have a good crew*! Bad drivers, gunners and even engineers can make the ride bad. It's incredibly interactive.

Such a missed opportunity. I would have been there with bells on, dancing the jig, if there was anything that looked remotely interesting. Seeing a life-size Falcon would be cool, but I wouldn't go there just for that, after hearing what people are saying about the rest of the place.

Unfortunately Disney have been very arrogant about their handling of the brand; expecting people to insanely gobble up whatever fodder they threw our way. Now, after Iger has come out in his book saying how vehemently disappointed Lucas (and that they just threw all his guidance out the window) "matters are worse."

It's really not though, it's a glorified video game. I enjoy Star Tours more. Avatar is a great ride... Slinky Dog is a great ride. It's cool to sit in the cockpit, but the actual ride/content is underwhelming.

I am really planning to visit Galaxy Edge. But yes so far from the video reviews on YouTube and also from Facebook friends who went, they either mentioned it's quite cool to average. And yes some said it's just a glorified mall with cool theming with one ride. And it's not as popular as Disney had hoped (it seems). It seems radio in Anaheim is offering discounted tickers to bring in the crowd. Not sure if it's true or not. Hopefully Rise of Resistance would add more fun to the park. And I am wondering why they totally omitted the OTs or PTs. They seem to be only pushing Disney SW. Which let's be honest, doesn't fully resonates with at least 50% (maybe) of the diehard fans and doesn't attract the younger fans as well (who prefer Marvel and Harry Potter now).

I just got back from Wdw Galaxy's edge. The truth of the matter is this, there is room for improvement but it is very cool. If you spend all day in this area you will get harassed by the first order, see Rey and Chewie, and maybe Kylo Ren. GE presents itself better in the wee hours when not as crowded. The more people that are there, the less Star Wars it feels. Lit up it is quite impressive. In the daytime the flaws show more, and people take you out of the element like watching a movie on TV with commercials. The opinions you hear aren't your own so dont let them influence you. It is worth going and having a look for yourself. My opinion varied depending on when I went. The rope drop presentation gets you pumped. You are escorted to Smuggler's Run by stormtroopers with the first order theme blating through the park. As you enter the first order are at their posts, and it is awesome. The park needs some work, and once polished a bit (remember the park is brand new and they need to tweak it yet). They need to get feedback from the fans. Adding a legacy addition would certainly shake things up. Also Smugglers run is great. Keep in mind it is a ride... Not a simulator. The detail put into the wait is enjoyable. Nothing like pulling that hyperspace lever! It is on the rails but takes skill. After a couple of times i was able to pilot the falcon well, and it directly affected the quality of the ride. We have to remember the whole thing is a theme park attraction aimed at a general audience, not just Star Wars fans. The cantina suffers the most though. Unless you show up with a crowd you are not seated. Thete are no aliens in tje bar and the DJ robot is a waste. This area is the only part i was disappointed in.

Personally I'd rather visit Tunisian movie sets once again, than go to Disney Galaxy Edge. The feeling being on the screen used sets was not comparable to anything else.

I think you nailed this. The omission of anything from the OT is obvious. I've heard that Lucas still gets royalties for the original characters, and if that's true it would explain alot! I think Smuggler's run would be so much more fun if it was a space battle. It's just not a thrilling experience. The object is trying to harpoon a train *yawn. There is potential (wasted at the moment), but Disney should have themed the park with identifiable environments from the movies instead of a generic one that nobody has a emotional connection with. That lady being fired (deservedly) over low attendance should tell you something; it's a massive failure. My favorite part actually was Oga's Tavern (Cantina). Really cool bar with unique drinks. It could be better (no aliens) and maybe getting hammered influenced my opinion, but I really enjoyed it. Edit: Dok Andar's is pretty cool too.

For me it's more affordable than Disney. Plus I have no connection to the Disney Sequel present in the park.
Agreed, I have no connection to the sequels AT ALL either so this is an easy pass. As Mandible also said above Disney have been horrible with the Star Wars brand. I even refer to the older movies as "Lucas' Star Wars" when talking to friends to differentiate my love for his films vs what Disney have produced.

^^ you've hit on a VERY important point.

ever since 1978 there was always a difference between "Lucas Star Wars", and the stuff that was written by other people. we used to call it "EU".

but now EVERYTHING is "written by other people".... so by definition, now EVERYTHING is "EU".... but somehow, we've ALL been brainwashed, into NOT calling it by that name. (heaven forbid).

I think the sooner we can all recognize that this is "all EU now", then the sooner we can all just enjoy it for what it is.

I enjoyed the Thrawn books in the 1990's; I enjoyed the Brian Daley books in the 1980's; I enjoyed Splinter of the Mind's Eye in 1978; (etc).

if we can accept these movies in that exact same context, then this would make it MUCH easier to enjoy Disney's NuSW for what it is.

but unfortunately, Disney's Orwellian Doublethink has taught us, "it's all canon now".

and this has caused a sort of 'organ rejection' among the fandom (like a human body "rejecting" a new heart transplant).

in the entire 40-year history of Star Wars, there have ALWAYS been "stories by George" (aka canon) vs. "stories by [NOT George]" (aka EU), and the fandom enjoyed BOTH.

but now we are told "everything is canon", and this places a HUGE amount of scrutiny on the NuSW. this makes it impossible to enjoy NuSW, at all.

IMO it was a mistake for Disney to declare the NuSW to be a continuation of "Stories By George" (when George is NO LONGER writing stories LOL). it's absurd.

this Orwellian Doublethink is not sustainable, in the long term -- it was only a matter of time before the fandom figured it out -- this stuff is NOT "Stories By George" LOL

if Disney would have sold their NuSW, in the same context as the Thrawn novels, then we WOULD allow ourselves to ENJOY it...

....but instead they sold it as the direct continuation of "Lucas Star Wars" -- this was a HUGE mistake.

ie: you are correct. this is NOT "Lucas Star Wars".

it's ALL "EU" NOW... and there's NOTHING wrong with that. :p LOL

for 40 years, the definition of "EU" remained the same -- "Stories by [NOT George]" have ALWAYS been labelled "EU".

we need to acknowledge this Disney stuff IS, by definition, "EU"

(this makes it MUCH easier, to enjoy it for what it is).

cheers!

There is no evidence to support this and, financially speaking, makes no sense for Disney when they were drawing up the contract back in 2011/2012. Lucas sold Star Wars and Disney owns Star Wars completely.

Can you verify that? We know he kept the original props, so what else did GL keep? I think it makes perfect sense, and I believe he's also entitled to royalties under the writers guild.

This rumor supposedly came from an inside source at Lucasfilm.
