Just announced by efx - edition size of 300, price $1599. William George signature edition. Preorder on Friday April 18.

I've no plans to buy this as I'm perfectly happy with my 1/24th scale AT-ST from MYC.

The AT-ST itself looks nice but I don't care for the stand but on the positive side it's better than the wooden stand shown at SDCC previously.
They really don't give much of an advance notice at only 4 days before it goes up for PO.

No mention of an LE so looks like it's an SE only. At an edition size of 300 I'm sure it will sell out

Wow they're finally putting this one up.

Surprised they aren't doing a LE as well for other retailers to carry. I'd think about putting one on a payment plan on SS if they did.

I have no intentions of buying this one from EFX. I am happy with my two versions of Merlin Models AT-ST, MYC 1/10 AT-ST, Code 3 AT ST, Bandai 1/48 AT-ST and my current PO for the Iron Studios AT-ST.

What EFX has done in choosing to replicate a studio scale puppet model from all the possibilities that exist for a final product representation of the AT-ST (ROJ) is totally beyond my comprehension.

From all the Studio Scale replicas they choose the puppet version. Absolute “crapola“ with warped panels (see green circled image), foot pads that don’t sit parallel to the base, an annoying central rod and with a pathetic puppet appearance.

Not sure why include a rod versus stand alone? They can’t justify that they are keeping the rod in order to make it studio accurate as per the archives since it’s already not studio accurate once they removed the wood base and rod, replacing it with a non wood base and aluminum rod.

If you are making this change, might as well eliminate the rod!

Why change the studio scale wood look and not get rid of the rod?

I am deeply disappointed by EFX is an understatement.

I expected more owning the X-Wing, Falcon and Tie Fighter from EFX.

Same here. No plans to buy.

For those who own other versions of a studio scale AT-ST what is your opinions on this? I like that it’s a signature edition but don’t love the big support pole
I don’t like the support pole either among other things. So many other good options out there. Merlin Models, MYC and Code-3 in the second hand market, heck even Miguel Recover custom AT-ST!

My opinion is no thanks and I am sitting out on this release. I am sure it will sell out as it’s an SE. However, I am a solid NO. $1800 after shipping and taxes…uh nope, only via EFX so no Sideshow points once again and a metal reinforcement pole….. and here is the announcement I clipped from my mornings email. Just saw the following via the Hyperdrive on FB:

Head is static but legs will have limited articulation
A non-SE is not planned at the moment
The wooden archive stand will be made available at a later date for all those who purchase the AT-ST (no mention of price for the archive stand yet)

Good update Woody thanks. Still a solid no.

These are some original images from Lucas Film archives. See how the foot pads sit parallel to the wooden base. See the EFX one. I can’t believe people will pay $1599 for this. I am in dismay. If the legs have some degree of movement they shouldn’t be unveiling it like this. Not to mention the tilted head and more. Very unprofessional. It looks like it’s falling apart on stage.

I think I have seen a total of 2 people say they're going to buy this in all of the groups/forums. A 300 SE would normally sell out quickly, but at this rate it sounds like its going to sit and I should just wait for the Black Friday EFX sale.

I was so wanting to get this. I currently have no SS models in the collection, so this would’ve been my first. But after seeing all these pics, here and on FB, and all of the issues being pointed out, I just can’t do it. Not at that price. The updated stand is better than the wooden one, but the pole still looks horrible. I don’t know why they chose the puppet for this replica.🙄

not sure what you guys are talking about as far as puppet models. there were only 2 studio models featured walking and firing in the movie, this is one of those

the only other model was the full size set piece and the others were ugly 3 foot tall versions that were crushed by the swinging logs or exploded.

my problem is they got a lot of feedback about people not liking the big wood rod support and base last year

what do they do ?? make the rod even wider for the final version. why can they not make a 90 degree metal angle support attached at the rear of the base. it could line up and fasten to the back of the model and not cover over the entire bottom of it !

putting a huge rod and support plate under it makes it look very weak. like they don't trust the materials they're using

its not just the physical look but it affects me psychologically in the wrong way

Are those MM AT-STs kits or already made?
They are kits, in stock and ready to ship for limited time till they sell out. If you want the fully assembled kit you have to order and wait in line. Because they come with a metal armature you may pose in any position that you wish. In the last two images you can see some poses from different people. They also both come with black museum base. People put them on plywood bases for painting and assembly to avoid damaging the museum base.

Yup, $350 would be fair price. Let’s see if EFX can get their act together with the announced Tie Interceptor and go back to the good old days when they produced the Falcon, Xwing and Tie Fighter, moving away from the small SnowSpeeder (replica of a gift) and this horrible AT-ST.

I PO this one from Iron Studios for $1218 CAD or $877 USA…I know it has out of proportion issues, but heck, looks cool and at least stands straight and on its own. It is still available for PO for 1/2 price of the EFX one; https://www.sideshow.com/collectibles/star-wars-at-st-and-chewbacca-iron-studios-913828

Thanks for posting. Now that I may be interested in
Never put the wagon in front of the horses. Let’s see what is the final prototype. I always want to see. That head falling at an angle needs big time addressing.

They don’t have to improve the price, but they do have to deliver an excellent replica for $1599. I have no problem paying, just not for crapola.

Let us see.

Not the AT-ST I'm happy with my MYC 1/24th version. I was referring to the Kylo Ren lightsaber Luke_Sith posted, but will wait on pricing and full PO info before deciding

I’ll for sure get it. That’s the only ST saber, or prop in general, that I really want. From the sound of it, EFX is trying to do an SE of this, but haven’t been able to come to an agreement with Adam Driver yet. Hopefully they do.

I’m also waiting for that helmet stand that the Vader helmet is on to go live, so that I can grab a couple. I don’t have stands for my Boba PCR and Vader PCR. So they’re just sitting in boxes right now. And I refuse to use the crappy acrylic stand that the Beskar Mando S2 helmet came with. That’s still in the box as well.

I was interested in picking up a stand as well until I saw how long the support rod is. The Vader sits too high and just about any other helmet will look silly.

I noticed that as well. I hope they address the pole height, because even the Vader helmet on this sits ridiculously high. It would be great if we got an adjustable pole. Or at least two poles - one for regular sized helmets, and one for the bigger ones like Vader.

I guess we could always take a saw to it and modify the pole length. But we shouldn’t have to.

Vídeo de EFX en Japón. Explains details such as the stand etc. that will improve it and the posture as well.
Yup, and fire the marketing department. Horrible job. EFX please deliver an internal metal armature and get rid of the rod. How hard and more costly can it be to insert on each casting for the legs and body a piece of metal?
