DJ - #57

I'll need to see the movie before I make a decision. Del Toro is a good actor, but so is Max Von Sydow and I wouldn't give a toss about a Lor San Tekka figure...

I like this figure and think it looks good. I'm a Del Toro fan and like most of the stuff he's in, so him in a Star Wars role is good for me. His role in the film sounds interesting too. I also look forward to the Woody Harrelson Beckett figure too! I will assume both of their roles will be interesting.

That super touched up photo looks interesting enough.
I still never got Baze and Chirrut or Hux, so not sure how pumped I am about 'current trilogy' human figures.

As others note, I may change my tune after I've seen the movie.

What is that thing on his head. His jacket looks like it's from the CAD BANE 2017 fall collection

I've already convinced myself to not buy any six inch figures from the Han Solo movie line. My wallet needs a break, so this one is a pass for me. ...for now...because I'm sure at some point I'll change my mind, lol. The life of a collector, right?

Agreed. I'll need to see the movie before I'll commit to buying this character's figure. He looks out of place to me, especially no knowing his background or what he offers to the story.

His look is okay and if a 4" SA figure is made I'd buy him for custom fodder regardless. Bu the sculpted hat is bothersome.

Agreed. Need to see him in the movie and learn more about him but only going 4”

Exactly. Out of place. Well said!! And hats should be remove able at this price point

Read a rumour that this is one of 3 outfits he wears in the film... If true, guess we can expect disguise one too?

Based on the images I'd imagine that we'll see him in some familiar looking armor.

Having grown up in the 90s-00, and TPM was my first new SW movie in theaters I had no idea until recent that some fans think 4-lom should be called Zuckuss and Han wore a blue jacket on Hoth all because of 30 year old toys. Interesting how much perception can influence belief.

Who says Boba couldn't have had a kid? He did in Legends.

He clearly was a ladies man in canon too:

Any source confirming this?

Probably not. In a way I'm kind of hoping it's not true because of all the trillions of people in the galaxy why does Boba's son need to be the one helping them? On the other hand I also think it would be sorta cool.

I think there are two different conversations going on. lol
A Fett and The Fett are two separate people. IMO, it wouldn't be bad if he was a Fett. Considering it's basically SW:TNG with Kylo & Rey et.
He could simply be just a random Mandalorian.

The Jango we see die in Attack of the Clones is actually an insane clone who snuck aboard Slave I, knocked our and tied up Jango in a back room and impersonates him. After those events the real Jango is so distraught of not knowing where Boba is he goes to the Night sisters where he has lots of Midichlorians injected into home where he now uses the Dark Side to stop him from aging. He now goes by the name Darth Jango and spends years hiding but when the First Order puts a bounty on his head he gets cosmetic surgery and shortens his name to DJ.

DJ as a Fett confirmed.

So far, the character seems pretty bland so I'm hoping the payoff is a Fett relation. DJ is supposed to be a placeholder name anyway, right?

Yeah, his hat reads Don't Join in Aurebesh.

Has anyone read the Phasma novel? Someone had said this may be the Cardinal character from the book

If that's Cardinal, then he's fallen on seriously hard times.....and gone against his very principles.

DJ is showing up on eBay ATM so it shouldn't be long before he hits toy shelves

After seeing the movie

  Spoiler:
I probably will not be buying the DJ figure. Was not impressed at all

I'm actually more interested in picking him up after seeing the movie. I like that he was a 'grey area' character.
