Awesome! Looking forward to see it all put together. I thought you were going to get it yourself at the store, but if they get delivered to you, the better. I remember getting my three Detolfs at Ikea by myself, and it wasn't the easiest thing to do trying to shove them in the car. Have fun with the redecorating.
 
Yeah, I was planning on picking it up. Once I started adding things to my shopping list, I realized that it all wouldn't fit in my Xterra and didn't want to make two trips. Plus, $39.99 delivery. You can't go wrong with that. Hope to put them together this weekend.
 
That was a very decent price for shipping. Heck, we pay almost half of that for a GG mini bust to be delivered! LOL
 
I signed for delivery last night. Let the fun begin! Damn that's a lot of stuff.

Got one "unit" put together. The other one will look the same. Only took about 5 hours, with a 45 minute trip to Home Depot to get some OSB to attach to the wall to anchor the unit. I think I can get the next one built in about 3 hours.
As you can see I still need to finish the lighting. I plan on doing that tonight. I need to head to IKEA to get some full size glass shelves, I'm going to return the regular shelves that I got. Heading out of town for a week and then work is getting in the way. So it might be a little while before this is finished. Love the look so far. Why didn't I do this ages ago?!

Thanks for sharing this. I have fluorescent lighting seeping through the Death Star-like cut outs on the side of my wall unit I want to switch for LED lighting, thus these ones you bought will work great for that purpose. Are these lights dim-able also? I did the same thing with the hide-a-wire tubes from Home Depot for my Detolfs and other LEDs on my main display unit, as you did. They work great to hide all the wiring.
 
I know that there is a dim-able switch at IKEA. Just not sure if these are compatible with that switch. They do have some larger LEDs that are designed as under cabinet lighting that might work for your set up behind the cut outs.
 
Awesome. I need to make the time for a little trip to Ikea this coming weekend. I really should get rid of those fluorescent lights on the sides of the unit which are not good all for collectibles. Better to do it now that I still have everything in boxes since hurricane Dorian. Thanks again for the info, and looking forward to seeing your collection displayed.

Little update. With covid-19 going on and sheltering in place I was hoping to have more done but work has been keeping me busy working from home. I still need to dig out most recent GG Boba Fett statue, my Scout trooper w/speeder bike and Scout Trooper bust. Still need to move the other SW busts to the bottom cabinet.

Not GG related. Since I'm waiting on IKEA to open back up so I can buy more shelves for my display I decided to work on a little project.

Say Hello to R3-NT. It's about 95% done. I'm going to be adding a few LEDs to the inside of the dome and waiting on a custom personality chip. The name (NT) and colors (green and white) come from the school I went to and currently work at, University of North Texas. The chip when done will not only play droid sounds but will also play the school fight song.

I was finally able to get to IKEA and get more shelves. A little update to the collection. Boba Fett focus is done (I only thing I might add is a Legends 1/2 scale if GG/DST does one). The Kenobi shelf is almost there. I still want to pick up the Iron Studios Phantom Menace Kenobi and a bust if GG does one for TPM. The "Core shelf" will get a few small updates if a Bespin Luke bust is released. Han, Leia and Luke will all get swapped out for Bespin versions. I still need to find Lobot(he's in a box somewhere). The Scout Trooper shelf will get the kotobukiya scout trooper when that comes in and be done. Now, the last shelf....the clones and others. I'm adding the Mandalorian MK3 to the shelf and Sabine when she comes out. I'm torn on if I get rid of the clones or not. I'll keep Rex and Cody(or get a new Cody as the clones are one of the box sets). I still need to add Bossk to the shelf. It all looks awesome, congrats!

Personally, I would keep those Clones. That set is awesome and the way GG are today...pretty solid bet you will never get them updated.
 
Yeah. Don't get rid of the Clone commanders. Those were some of the nicest offerings from when GG were GG. I still remember the hassle it was to get them all. You can always store them away. I don't display mine right now, but I've kept them all.

Really impressed with your work on the R2 unit. Looks fantastic. ... What Scout Trooper from Koto are you waiting to get? The smaller scale one?
 
Yes! I'm getting one of those for sure. It will go perfect next to the Biker Scout and Bike that Gentle Giant produced years ago. I wonder if Barnes & Noble will carry the Scout. I usually buy the smaller Kotos from them. Looks really good. Thanks for sharing the images. :)

Joe, that is exactly what I did with mine too. I have the Koto Sandtrooper with the binoculars standing next to the GG Dewback. I tell you folks, these 1/10 scale figures by Koto are great as add on pieces to existing dioramas or to make some new ones.
