Deedra Meero - VC#346

I’m looking forward to getting her in the line, but I’m a bit cautious.

Chris from BanthaSkull mentioned the figure wasn’t a 100% new tool, and he seems to be in the know for this stuff. I’m not sure what parts will be borrowed, but hopefully it isn’t all that noticeable.

How can it not be 100% new tooling? I presume the legs will be reused but she should be a touch shorter at least.
 
Yeah, I'm not sure how it isn't 100% new. There's nothing to no possible reuse to utilize for this figure, at present anyway. They sure as heck can't reuse Piett sculpt. lol So I'd be curious to know what he was told the reuse from, if maybe it is but from something not yet seen.

If anything, the closest reuse I can see are Mae's legs, but they don't have the side flair. The rest has to be all new.

But I agree, I'll be getting a few for customs!

Yeah, I’m not sure. It is weird to not go with a 100% new sculpt.

Piett’s actor was on the shorter side (about 5’8), but Dedra’s actress is around 5’5, so she should have an overall smaller frame.

Maybe they’ll reuse the boots from the new Tonnikas? They’re close to the Imperial ones.
 
Deedra was #4 on my March Madness nomination list this year, so I'm definitely excited for this one. I'll be getting at least 3 for Andor Season 1 display purposes, but if her appearance in Season 2 looks the same, then I'll definitely be getting more.

They teased an S2 Cassian figure for TBS.

I wonder if we're getting S1 or S2 Dedra. Maybe she gets a promotion (well-deserved, you go, girl!) and is sporting more rank pips in Season 2.

Yes, that's an interesting thought. If it does end up being a different Season 2 outfit, I do hope we haven't missed the window of opportunity to get her in her Season 1 uniform as well - same for Luthen if Hasbro ends up releasing him in an S2 outfit - but either way, I'm definitely gettin' her!

I can't imagine it would be all that different, but it'd be hilarious if Hasbro released two versions and the only difference was her rank badge.
 
Can't wait to see how the figure turned out. Crazy that we've only gotten two figures from that series so far, especially since neither of them interacted while wearing those specific costumes! Hoping this means Luthen isn't too far behind. He's long overdue for TVC.
 
I almost think that they could reuse this figure, even the headsculpt is fairly close....almost....

But seriously Hasbro, don't even think about it. I want an all new sculpt. And she's long overdue as both a major player in Andor and as just a necessary female Imperial to add to the ranks. Along with Will Hunting's math mentor, there should have been a different priority set for what gets made in plastic. I can't believe Vel Sartha got a figure first in 1/18th. With her AK. Is that mature Star Wars for us Hasbro!?!?!?!?! Complex?!?!?!? Cerebral????? Action figures for adult Star Wars fans indeed.....

I suppose that wouldn't be the worst thing, if they simply reused the torso, arms and skirt. But they'd need to give it new legs on par with current tooling. Even then, it still wouldn't be accurate to Dedra only having 3 rank pips. And to me that's the most crucial part next to the head sculpt for the character. Look at Cal, wrong rank because of Motti reuse. Motti has 6 chicklets while Cal only had four, which could have been done if they had simply tooled a new torso that would have also gotten several uses such as Praji and a few others.

It's these kinds of shortcuts that really stick in my...

She wasn't that high up on mine, but I was glad to finally cross someone off. It felt good.
 
I imagine the arms will be the reuse, and that’s okay with me - maybe the lower legs, too. I don’t think that would be problematic.
 
Hard to say really, Juno is a character so old they may bother with. Deena Shan is part of the EU purge, I think it would require quite a workaround to get either one. Even once all the new media officers were made, does Hasbro have the available slots for older nobodies?

Or updates to Isarde, or maybe get Talya or one of the other new EU female officers.
 
Yeah, I'd love to see them on an all new sculpt, but I'm most likely going to do the same thing for those Officers that I did with Yularen, Bast, Cass etc. Motti reuse. I'll just buy extra Dedra figures and dye one red for Isard, gray Deena and black for Juno. Unless of course they get to the black and gray uniforms before I'm able. Although technically Juno has an open tunic, so she'd require a new torso.

Daala, Deena, Isard, Eclipse. Also kind of an EU theme there.

Second set, Cinta, Pryce, Tala, ???
