I really wanted to remove the entire Nerf assembly but it was too hard so I converted it to have retractable cannons. Got the idea from the Phantom.

Added controls in the cockpit so pilot won't rock around in the cockpit.

I made another change. The cannon mod makes it look a little unfinished since the cannons don't retract all the way and there's no separator. I decided to make it a scout ship with a target designator to light up targets for bombers to come in.

Doesn't that bottom bit just uncrew and pop off? Looks like it should be pretty easy to get rid of it altogether and tidy it up.

It's not. If it were, I would have done that. Problem is that half of it is part of the bottom mold so if you remove it, you still have half the nerf section on there.

If you look at the last photo, you can see where the parting line would be if you unscrewed it. You would also be left with no landing gear.

Is the hole big enough to insert a LED flashlight to make a searchlight?
