New 6" Vader! Pics courtesy of The Fwoosh. I'm pretty happy with my customized EW Vader, but this looks pretty good!

Looks like there also will be three variants of the Scarif Trooper. There's a Scarif Stormtrooper, which is a walmart exclusive, the Scarif Trooper Leader, and a Captain. The captain figure wasn't announced before.

That Vader certainly looks better than the first version, but it appears to fall short of the Walgreens version when it comes to his helmet sculpt. This one is slightly stretched out and deformed, like someone grabbed his chin and stretched it downward. Helmet appears a bit too tall and narrow on the forehead area too. I will reserve judgement until I see pics of the actual figure, but at this point I will stick with my custom EW Vader.

LOL, and while I am typing that someone posts a pic of the figure. This one looks the opposite of the cg model, instead of the face being stretched out, its all squashed together. Maybe its just the helmet sitting too low on his head that gives that impression. The rest of him looks great, glad to see they got his gloves right and the buttons on his belt boxes.

I didn't think I needed another Vader, but .... maybe I do!

I have the BS and the Mafex figs now. Never bothered with the Walgreen exclusive.

It's nice that we will finally be able to hang his saber from his belt. I'm also wondering if, judging by the way he is posed, it will have a wire in the cape? With this one clearly being the ANH/Rogue 1 design, I've already convince myself to get him.

The first Vader doesn't have the cloth over the should pads, does it? I think that was a change made from IV to V. This is a must buy for me! I hate how the first one looks in-box because of the helmet being removable.

This might be the fastest Hasbro has ever offered a re-do/apology figure. I think a whole extra year passed between POTF2 farmboy Luke and "all new likeness" Luke.

Its EP4 he has the cloth over his shoulder armor, 5 and 6 had the cloth under the armor.

What TK114 said. Here's a shot of my custom:

I'm still getting this new one though, the minute I see one! I love the ANH look the most, I always thought he looked more menacing

The first images were taken of the screen at the presentation and is distorted because of the perspective

This looks great!!! WAY improved!

It does look better than their first ROTJ one. I'm glad it won't have a removable helmet this time. I'll be in for this one. Hopefully by the time it's released the cape will be the proper length this time around.

I'm not really sure where people are getting this "apology" about the original vader. The first sculpt was not horrendous, and offered a removable helmet, which I felt was pretty cool. In order to make it all work, obviously they had to take some liberties with the helmet size. So, this whole "hasbro is appologizing for the original" is so twisted and turned by people that it doesn't seem accurate at all.

This new figure, doesn't come with a removable helmet..

The only issue that needs an apology is the ridiculous soft goods

I like it! Hope the helmet in the production piece has a bit more shine. Regardless, I can't wait to have this and old Obi Wan so I can pose them in their classic final duel.

This Darth Vader looks way better than the First release one I'm definitely getting this guy.

I don't get it either. I was really happy with the ROTJ Vader and the removable helmet was awesome.

Greedo was my first BS figure, back when I was telling myself 'You will only be buying a couple of KEY choice figures'.

Darth Vader was my second. I thought he was awesome at the time, and was surprised by all the hate.
Even Michael Crawford panned him!

(And then last year I got Force Friday Fever, and the rest is history - over 60 figures now.)

Soft goods still too long.

This is key to whether or not I pick this up. As long as they continue to hang the cape behind his neck, instead of around it, then this is a no go. Similarly, the inner cape must hang straight below the belt. In addition, the lengths of both must be just shy of floor length, not dragging behind him. I also want to see how they hung the lightsaber from the belt, because it's conspicuously covered up in the photos. The likeness is pretty good though. The ANH Vader helmet had a nice matte finish to it, unlike the glossy versions in the other two movies.

Rotj Vader is fine and is still different enough to warrant having both

The helmet in ANH did not have as much shine to it as it did in the subsequent films, but it's not that hard to add it yourself if you want it to shine...a little Future floor polish is all it takes.

If you look at the digital sculpt image, he has a hook on his belt, though it does look a little suspicious in the promo image....kind of like they fudged it a little so you could see it better.

I agree that it's a little hidden, but looking back at the first page, Boilingbloke's [?] (sorry, not on my computer atm so can't go back and forth) photo and the "prototype" image, it looks like he'll have a "Luke-like" pin on his right side and the lightsaber will hang blade end up. Should be accurate as long as they don't place the pin too far back.

Maybe this figure will be the one Vader that will be the Shiz-Nite? But really my repainted Wrath Vader helmet on the OG Black Series blue edition Vader is enough for me. It looks like Hasbro already did this swap and just painted the eyes a darker red poopy brown color. So probably a pass for me, unless there is a definite reason why I should buy this ALREADY kit bashed figure.

I think there is a bit more going on here than just a simple kit bash. The head sculpt at least appears to be new, or at least modified. The dome seems to be a new sculpt at least and it sits a lot lower than EW Vader's. The torso would also appear to be different, with the addition of the hook for his saber. His chest plate is also different as it doesn't have the holes to secure the cape to it.
