Found this guy today. Wasn't really convinced I needed another Vader, but man this one is the bee's knees! I assumed that it was just the ANH 40th version with a few tweaks but, while there is some re-use from that figure, there is a lot here that is new! Obviously the head is a new sculpt, but the entire torso and arms appear to both be new. The only real re-use appears to be the legs and pelvis/codpiece/belt thingy. As we've learned, he now has butterfly joints (which aren't really all that to be honest) but the new arms have much more range in the elbows, allowing him to bend them more than the 90 degrees that the ANH figure can (in the pic with his arms folded they are right up against his chest). The neck also has a double ball joint thing going that allows for wider range of motion. The hands, while similar, are all new as well. Even the lightsaber is a new (or at least different sculpt) and hangs on the belt hook much easier than the ANH version. I gotta say, I am pretty darned impressed with this one!

So the codpiece is exactly the same? New one looks a little slimmer to me... maybe its just the glossier paint.

Could just be the angle in that pic. Side by side, in hand, they appear to be the same. Just a different finish like you say.

I like this Vader. My only two gripes are the comically large outter cape, and it seems like the mount points for the chest armor are closer to the neck and it looks like the inner robe is bunching up against those points (rather than the mounting points passing through holes in the inner robe. But that shouldn't be too heavy of a surgery to fix.
