That's a harsh comment. But knowing him, Malak will just take it on the chin.

Looks great! I hope he’s taller than Revan! This and Bastila look like must-haves for me!

Back when they got done in 3.75” Revan was tall and Malak was short for whatever reason!

A truly superb looking figure, and a must have to stand next to Revan! I do wonder are the legs reuse? Because I thought they didn't put all new sculpts in GG line. Though at the prices they're charging now I don't see why not.

Malak and Bastilla are my two must buys of the last two years, Mara is neat but I'm not sure I really need her as much.

I'm pretty sure KoToRemake is just delayed. No way it'll be scrapped. But these already having physical prototypes reinforces my prediction the Remake was scheduled for its 20th Anniversary next year. I expect 2025ish now :/

Looks all-new to me. I imagine that the GG figures released in mainline will be less re-use heavy. The upcoming GG Cal Kestis is all-new too.

Eric said it was an all new sculpt on the live stream. Figure is scaled to be 6'5 so don't think there's much they could reuse.

It's likely based on his appearance in the KOTOR remake that was supposed to come out next year.

Where did you hear that he costs $30? According to Etain’s post, Malak is mainline. Is that what mainline will cost buy release?

It likely will be the current mainline price of $24.99, unless prices go up again that is. Still no press release from Hasbro to verify, but the other three figures already revealed in the wave are that price.

Legs look to be re-use from general Lando. Hope he’s not too short!

No, the folds in the pants and the style of boots look different from General Lando. It might be reuse of something, but it doesn’t look like Lando to me.

The ONLY thing that bugs me about this figure is the different shade of red for the torso. It’s a little jarring to my eyes. Hopefully won’t be as bad in person and it certainly won’t stop me from picking this guy up

Well it's not Old School Malak from KotOR which appeared to be a muted red/orange color rather than bright red hue, so that right there is going to be obvious stand out. As much as I wanted Malak I can overlook the minor discrepancy of the outfit but I really would have preferred to original look. This look appears to be inspired by Praetorian Guard, which is maybe what the designers of the new game were going for.

I wonder if in this slightly-tweaked design, the upper torso is intended to be some sort of chest armor that sits over his body suit. Kinda like in this image I found here on Art Station:



That might explain the decision to color the chest differently. And it does appear to be a conscious decision, since the shoulder portions of the torso seem to match the red of the arms and other areas of the figure.



But in any case, I'm not too bothered by the changes, as I've always found Malak's design a bit boring from the neck down, sacrilege as that might be!
