Here you go guys! As I've stated before we have no plans to create another seperate forum dedicated to the customization of Vehicles. However I've built this dedicated thread and will make it a sticky post for all to partake in. When the thread response gets around 500, please alert an admin or mod so we can close it down and start a part two thread.

Enjoy!

I thought I would put my custom vehicle in here. I have a bunch more, just need to take pics of 'em!

Gunship_mechanic, Owen D, whitekit crude matter and everyone else, jump in! We may not get a regular forum, but this is better than nothing! At least they will all be in the same space!

Id like to be the first to say that this whole locked thread thing really sucks. I kind of amazed why the moderators wouldnt create a dedicated forum given all the interest. In any event, the practial effect of this thing is that great custom vehicles will get lost. I know Im not going to have the patience to troll through 500 posts to find the photo of the one vehicle I remember thinking was cool.

I certainly encourage vehicle customizers to create their own thread for each vehicle they make in the normal customs section--that as opposed to losing their posts here in this one, giant, disorganized, all-encapsulating thrad.

Frankly, I think everyone should ignore this stupid locked thread and keep insisting the moderators create a dedicated section.

Exactly what I was thinking, how are we to know whether there's a new post or just idle chatter going on in the thread if the title doesn't change? I know I'll be posting any vehicles I make as a new thread instead of in this dead end.

I agree owen, the title doesnt change and people have no idea whats going to be in here without actually reading the thread. So i also am goign to make a dedicated thread for each vehicle, but im also going to put the same vehicles in this thread. That way people veiwing recent threads can enjoy my customs more, and when my customs are buried, bored readers can enjoy them again here.

That's actually a pretty good solution. It'd provide both exposure and longevity of threads.

Guys perhaps when you all wanna put the thread up , you could use generic names. For instance a custom AT-PT could go by the name AT-PT. Rather than my AT_pt blah blah. Would make it a hell of a lot easier to locate through the search function

Nice work here guys. Can you put troops inside the AT-TE's? If so, could you post some pics with troops inside? Thanks.

So I got some server space and here are the Scratchbuilt vehicles I have built. All are still in the WIP phase since I so far have chickened out of painting- also I keep on starting new builds…

Anyways in order of creation (As time goes on big and tougher builds:

E-wing (posted Previous):

http://digitalforgestudios.dhs.org/scratchbuilds/kotorswoop002.jpg

The Front wings are still in pieces so that I can paint the pieces easier, when I finally site down to do that.

AT-PT (posted Previous)

MTT (*Rack only built thus far)

The MTT I have 20 KO Battle druids I picked up off ebay which I had to cut apart and fold down to the crouch position since they were molded as one piece. Bit of a pain in the [censored] since I have to do that to another 20 inorder to finish off the other side.

In the next week or so I will be started a Thread on building the Raven’s claw (Kyle Katurn’s ship- Dark forces/ Acadamy Video games series)

awesome stuff you got there rogueknight!

That MTT is gunna be so freaking sweet and i really like the KOTOR swoop

Here is an AT-ST upgrade I made. I have the making of somewhere in the customs forum

I just joined today just so I can add my custom vehicles to this page. Here are my two podracers for starters.

I think the way to do it is to have this thread be a "directory" with links to individual custom vehicle threads. That way all the photos, comments, and replies regarding that vehicle can be contained within individual threads thus making a search for a specific vehicle easier.

Re: My WIP custom MTT

Here is my still work in progress MTT. I went and removed the guns off it so I could use casted canon piece from a AAT tank. The design matched the images from the Prequal Cronicle Book.

Re: My WIP custom Tantive IV

Here are some updated images of my work in progress custom Tantive IV. I lengthen the neck by adding a McDonnalds large plastic cup (notice Santa hanging out). I also casted the four guns that are mounted on the sides. It is moving slower than I want it to, but it is comming along.

Re: My WIP custom X-Wing Mod Kit

Here is my pride and joy! It took me along time to build up the confidence and skills to design this custom. I was O.K. with the re-release of the Kenner X-wing in '95, but I was discusted that Hasbro would use the same mold again for the OTC release without any changes. I figured that it was long over due that all those vintage and potf2 vehicles can be refreshed with some modifications THAT WOULD NOT HARM THE SHIP!!! I introduce a movable head R2, R3, R4, and R5 units, longer guns with the tips turned 90 degrees, and slip on landing gear. With this kit, you can take the old Kenner mold and make it look more like the FX version that Hasbro made. I still have to make ladders and the transport speeder in Episode 4. The Hoth Maintenance bridge is made from scrape platic frames from model kits, and casted catwalk from the Theed hanger.

Now, do we have enough intrest yet to start a vehicle forum yet? I've got a lot more vehicles in the works and pictures comming.

Jedi_Ben

wow that is a lot of vehicles to be working on at one time lol

Ben\'s custom ships

Wow Ben!! You certinly seem to be living up to your title of "Master". Those are some real impressive pieces you've got in the works there.

The Corvette is just way awesome. From the looks of it, this isn't a playset though, is it?

The ATPT is very nice. I'm sure wishing I'd picked up one of those back when it came out so I could make a ATPT of my own.

I think my favorite thing is the X-Wing mod kit though. You've taken a very basic ship that deserves better and really given it a lift! (ok, no pun intended!
tongue.gif
). The gear and droid really go a long way to help this ship look more like it's bigger cousin but still allow it to fit in a smaller diorama area. Turning and lengthening the guns was also a very nice touch.

Again, that's some great work there! I'm very happy we have a tread (at least) to show off the custom ship work.

Thread vs. Forum

I'm going to throw my 2 credits worth in here...

I agree that a dedicated forum would be great, but there's probably a lot of overhead associated with that. I think having a "directory thread" with the sticky is the next best thing.

This would not only allow the new ships to be displayed on their own and replys would be limited to just the one ship so they wouldn't get lost in the sea. The thread could then be referenced in the Master Thread, just like the diroamas are in that section.

As I said, this is just my opinion. I don't see any need for people to get their knickers in a knot complaining about something like this.

Hey! Thats really good. I never made my own custome so I don't know much about them, but how do you do that is it like a model that you just inhance, and are the troops just model figures?
Also great paint job. I like how their are dark areas and light areas, instead of just one solid color.

Great to see that again, Psyclone! Daigo-bah, your AT-ST is AMAZING!!! I'd love Hasbro to update it and use yours as a base. Is it possible to stick two figures inside? Or a Wookiee & 2 Ewoks?
wink.gif
I'd love if Hasbro could do one like this.
