Hello all,

I designed a custom DVD cover for Clone Wars Volumes 1 and 2 that will jive with the rest of the Star Wars saga DVDs. Call me anal, but I wanted my Clone Wars DVDs to neatly fit in with the rest of my SW DVD collection. Anyway I worked really hard on it and am proud enough of it where I'm trying to sell it if anyone else is interested. Here's what it looks like:

What I'm selling is a DVD case with the custom cover art that holds two discs. I'm not selling the DVDs themselves, just the cases. It's $7 for one, shipped ($7.50 if using Paypal. I hope people like it, please PM me if you're interested, thanks!

I just finished and am also now selling a case for the Holiday Special that fits in the the OT DVDs. I'm selling this one for $5 shipped ($5.50 if using Paypal). That includes a single disc case and does NOT include a copy of the special. You'll have to obtain that aboration through your own nefarious means
Obviously if you buy both cases, it'll be less for shipping. Again, PM me if interested, and here's what it looks like:

I have some feedback posted here

Below are some pictures of the Clone Wars case "in action"

These last two are from the first person I sold a case to. He was very satisfied and sent me these pics of the case with his collection.

Re: Custom Clone Wars DVD case for sale - $5

that looks pretty sweet! good work. i've considered doing this myself along with a custom cover for the holiday special. how are you printing these? inkjet, laser or offset? at any rate it would be awesome to figure out a way to get the gold ink spot color to print in metallic ink!

keep it up!

Re: Custom Clone Wars DVD case for sale - $5

Hey all, thanks for the kind words. Sorry I didn't mention in the first post, but they're being printed simply on a color printer where I work (shh, don't tell the boss
) But seriously, I don't know offhand if it's inkjet or laser but I can find out easily enough tomorrow. The paper it's printed on is a pretty nice quality glossy stock that I think fits pretty well with the other DVDs.

I really wish I knew how to do a metallic look. That definitely would have been sweet. It was such a pain trying to get a color match that looked good next to the metallic ink of the real covers. In the end I think it's a pretty nice match, it just depends on the angle the light catches the real ones. In the pics the difference is clear, but in person I think it blends in with the others really well.

And as far as payment, I'm fine with Paypal (no credit cards though), cash, or money order.

Let me kow if you have any other questions.

To answer people from earlier, the cover is being printed on a laser printer.

Cases look great!
To be even more anal than you though, the DVD should be between II and III not before I.

It really does look much nicer. Good work.

Good point, but I'll one up you on the anal factor, lol:

I didn't want to put an episodic roman numeral on the spine since I didn't know technically what it would be considered and I didn't want it to look funny with like a fraction or something. So I left it blank but I thought it looked weird sandwiched between the II and III so I put it first to mirror the numeral free Bonus disc of the OT. So while out of episodic order, my shelf is now symetrical, and my journey to the anal side is complete
Anyway, I just want you guys to buy the thing, please feel free to put it wherever you want on your shelf, lol.

Re: Custom Clone Wars DVD case for sale - $5

Thanks for all of the interest from everybody. For the latest people who've sent me payments, I may not get to mail the cases out today, but I"ll definitely try. If not today, then tomorrow for sure. Either way, I'll let you know when I do.

On another note, due to the initially great response to this case, and a couple of comments from people, I may start work on a design for the Holiday special. If anyone thinks you'd be interested in that, could you drop me a PM? If there's really enough interest, I'll probably do it, at which point I'll post the design and let everyone know the details. I ask that you PM me just so this thread doesn't get cluttered with posts about a cover I may or may not do. Thanks!

Wooktroop, the case is a double DVD case, so it's designed specifically to hold both the first and second volumes. The art and wording on the back reflect this.

Re: Custom Clone Wars DVD case for sale

Hey all, just bumping this up. I also need to update with the following info: I am unfortunately bumping up the price slightly. My job is ending next week and I'm starting printing these at home. I"ll still use the same quality paper and my home printer's as good as the one at work, but now I'll be paying for the supplies my boss was
But hopefully people don't mind the new price to offset things. So from now on I'll be asking $7. I'm also asking an additional 50 cents for people paying through Paypal since they started charging a fee on all my transaction
Hope everyone understands this and will still be interested in the case. Thanks.

Also, something I mentioned as a possibility earlier.... I WILL be offering a case for the holiday special shortly that should fit in nicely with the OT DVDs.

Re: Custom Clone Wars DVD case for sale

I'm updating this thread as I'm now selling two cases, both the Clone Wars and now now a case for the infamous Holiday Special! Check it out:

Hope you like it....
I know it doesn't feature a big Bea Arthur or animated Boba right on the front, but finding usable res images for this thing was pretty much impossible. I did the best I could though, and those two are on the back. I tried to give it the holiday feel with the red and green, and while the special is super cheesy and bad, I wanted the cover to be classy and fit in with the rest, so I didn't make it nearly as ridiculous as I was tempted to. I'm currently selling it for $5 shipped.

Here's a fun little tidbit: In finding images to use, I discovered that Luke's lightsabre prop from the special is not the normal looking one we know from the first two movies. It's actually a bashed together one they made specifically for the special, which is why I went with this particular image of Luke for the cover. Even though it's not from the special itself, it is a rare image of Luke using this bizzaro lightsabre. Anyone want to venture a guess where the image comes from?
