I had been displaying my reaction Dark Crystal figures using the cardboard inserts that came with the boxed figures. Well last weekend I decided that wasn't good enough and wanted something more of a display piece for them (as opposed to a diorama).

It was an 'art' from adversity project in that I didn't want to spend any money on it, so I used just things I had on hand. The structure is wood, the textured pieces for the castle are actually sale sample's of faux slate roof tiles (everyone has had a pile of those kicking around for 15 years, right?). Paint, moss, stump, graphics urethane construction adhesive, and a handful of screws later...

A handful of hours across a few days. You know how it goes, glue-stop-wait until tomorrow. Paint-stop-wait until tomorrow. Paint again-stop-wait until tomorrow.

The basic structure was done over a bored saturday afternoon in the garage.

And thanks!

Great Job Darth Pete : ) Your display looks great and draws me right in, you really capture the feeling of the movie. Those figures look great, I know what I'm Darth Santa for :)
