Please use this thread to talk about the new 6" Count Dooku figure. Thoughts on this figure?

From what can be seen in the blurred image, he does look great, and I am kind of expecting it to be one of the best figures.
A certain buy for sure. Curious about the saber though, as someone said: will the saber have 2 different blades? one for motion and one for stance?

Just like the small delay on Obi Wan and Anakin, no glam shots as yet. Was he on the convention floor like Plo and Kit?

He's been a huge want of mine ever since they made Tarkin and started with the faceprinting. I knew with the new tech, he'd end up looking fantastic and who doesn't want a great 6" Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing to stand next to each other.

Although this only reminds me how wasted he was in the movies. You have a legendary actor playing a cool bad guy, then he's only in like 20 minutes of AOTC and 10 minutes of ROTS. Probably most of which was actually a stunt double. He's basically a Clone Wars character to me, lol.

This has been right near the top of my want list since day 1! Can’t wait for the glam shots. We just need an Ep I/II and an Ep III Darth Sidious now to complete the prequel Sith Lords.

Glam shots are up, two blades for sure. And his cloak looks amazing!

Totally smokes the SHF version. BS Dooku is actually wearing clothes, whereas SHF Dooku was suited up in his best chest armor to go BMX biking. Not even a contest.

Never mind, found them right here at RS! When is the last time that happened, RS beat any of the other sites to the punch?

Anyway, he looks pretty awesome! Not sure how I feel about the "action blade". Hot Toys has been doing them for a while now and I never really use them, but it is great that they are giving us an extra accessory.

SHF face is a much better likeness but this one has the better colors. Both cloaks look horrible, at least the BS one isn’t comically wide and lays better but both are ugly soft goods.

Also why does this BS version have pearls for the chain...

Now having seen both I'm glad I kept my Figuarts. It's a much better likeness. And of the 2 crappy capes I'll take the Bandai one. That said, the BS color palette is on point and the non-segmented chest is much better looking. It would have a lot more appeal to me if they included a force gesture hand or ANY hand instead of the action blade. I think they're useless personally. But I do have to say, that for the price...is the Figuarts worth the extra $60? Can't say I definitively think so in this instance

Yeah, I would much rather have a couple of extra hands, than the 'action blade'.

I think the action blade looks silly.

I will definitely buy this though.

It seems like the photoreal glam shots never look as good likeness wise as the actual figure does. So I'm figuring the production face will look better. I like the colors, cloak and lack of a torso joint much better than the SHF version.

I wonder if the Palpatine force lightning hands will work with Dooku.

Hmm, now you said that and I’m wishing we’d gotten an alternate lightning hand instead of the swoosh saber. The swoosh is a neat idea and I’m sure some folks will make use of it, but for me it’ll go right into a little baggie.

Like this a lot. Face will probably change a little by time the real figure comes out. It always does. So probably even better than what we're seeing here. Not sure about the moving blade. Agree extra hands or head would been better, but this one is hard to pass up. I'm mostly OT but this looks good.

The more I look at the swooshing lightsaber; the less I like it. While kinda cool in theory, it seems a little...out of place? Have there been other lightsabers of this effect in the line thus far? I would have preferred Force Lightning hands. Or even just one!

You know, it's been AGES since I'm bought a Black Figure. Not that I can't appreciate them, just haven't been as into SW these days. But this....this has been a long time coming. Kind of shocked it did take this long to get him. And he looks FANTASTIC!

Sweet! Now all we need to round out the Geonosis display a Super Battle Droid, a true Ep I-III Yoda, a re-tooled Amidala (bare midriff), a faceprinted Jango Fett (re-release) and a re-release of the AOTC Phase 1 Clone Trooper. A Geonosian Warrior, Ki Adi Mundi, Shaak-Ti and Aalya Secura would be the icing on the cake.

Is that all we need? 😝😝

Ha, looking at how empty the Black Series PT displays were compared to the OT's at Celebration Chicago, I'd say yes and that's coming from someone who wasn't planning to really get into the 6" line! ;)
With the exception of the Geonosian Warrior all the figures mentioned appeared in at least two feature films and were featured regularly on TCW.

That moving blade blur piece is kinda cool, but they really needed to include lightning hands instead. 😐
I will have fun posing him with Yoda in various fighting scenes though. 😃 Going to use one of my Bandai stands to have Yoda twirling in the air.

I mean I get it. It's like I said, it's kind of insane HOW long it took to get to Dooku. I mean I get taking you time with like Obi-Wan variants or other age/costume variants...but there's just ONE Dooku look. How did it take THIS long? But I'm not going to lie, my official #1. is Bib Fortuna now. Episode 1 has always been the one to get THE least love of all the times in both the 6'' and 3''. It's the redheaded stepbrother. I mean think of it, we haven't had a new Nute Gunray, Watto, Captain Panaka, Senator Palpatine, young Anakin, Sebulba, Theed Battle Padme, Captain Tarpals, and many others in nearly two decades. Actually for some, it might BE LITERALLY two decades. I don't even like the PT much, but I do like the toys. And we don't have any in 6''. But honestly, of all the 6'' from TPM (and really they're in all the PT but started with TPM) I want most right now? A Destroyer Droid would be AWESOME!
