Commander Gree - TRU Exclusive

Great, another TRU exclusive that will be next to impossible to find here. While other areas have shelves clogged with them, I got lucky on the TFA Snowtrooper Commander and found one stashed in the Hot Wheels aisle (the only time I saw that figure) and the Hover Tank Pilot made a single appearance on the pegs, also never to be seen again.
On display look:

But in other news... I'm gonna have to get him.... No denying that, and I figured they would make new molds due to his unique armor elements.

Huh, all of the stores by me have at least 3 to 12 Hover Tank pilots...... That is why I call this company Hasbroken rather than Hasbro.
Granted, I don't get to TRU very frequently anymore, but I still have never seen the hovertank driver at either of the stores in my general area (at least he has been available online). I hope I have better luck with Commander Gree...
And here I thought that I could go to just buying one 1 of each from now on. 2 for me waiter!

Looks pretty damn good. The helmet looks way better in the booth pics, press pics it looks cheap and underpainted. Booth one actually seems to have the silver accents painted on. Glad he has both weapons and his binocs.
Also guys, this one isn't an army builder. People aren't going to be wanting multiples, even for customs paintmover this guy would be a *****. I want one to keep sealed, Gree is my favourite PT character, super happy to see him.

I usually don't care much for PT stuff, but damn! I hope the final product looks as good as this. Such a cool figure.

I haven't seen anything concrete yet, but I'm seeing a lot of reports this will be $25.
I'll buy an trooper at this point if the price is reasonable. I'm not even a huge clone fan, but I like the color.

wondering why this guy is going to be $5 more than the rest of the figures in this line.
Has there been any indication that this will be the actual price, or just "internet reports". I could make a "report" that he will be $10.99 and come with a free bag of chips - but until TRU/Hasbro posts how much it will cost, it's a rumor.
And bad one too. All recent Black Series exclusive single pack figures have been $20 (or retail price for the figures at that store) - Emperor Wrath Vader, Silver leg C3P0, AT-ACT Driver, Imperial Shock Trooper, Hovertank Pilot, Scarif Trooper and R5-D4. So unless TRU jacks up the price of the line to $25, then I wouldn't put too much stock in Gree being that price.
I don't for see them jacking up the price, they have a hard enough time selling the figures at $19.99.

I read that on another site, I don't understand that at all. As over the top as LFL/Disney has gotten the last couple of years about making sure toys, models and such match their on screen look and details, this is such an odd step backwards.
The Gamestop exclusive R5-D4 is $22. $24.50 with tax.
That is how much the basic 40th figures are also.
This guy has some pretty extreme paint apps compared to the other exclusives, I imagine that has something to do with the price increase. I have no problem paying $5 extra for something this detailed since it's a single character, if it was an army builder I would be grossed out by the price increase.

I'll absolutely be getting him, but I'm prepared to drop a lot on Ebay because he'll be hard to find. He was my favorite of the Prequel troops, and I have his mini-bust in the mancave.
At Gamestop you mean? I wouldn't know, they didn't have any at the stores I checked. Just R5 and the crappy Titaniums.

With TRU exclusives it's more a waiting game than anything, the FO Snowtrooper and Hovertank Driver can be found under retail on eBay quite regularly.
This guy isn't even an army builder. The only TRU item that was hard to get was the Astro set, but that was a limited run, available online for aboutna week, and TRU didn't send them to all stores.

Valid point. But do I still get my scout credits?
Not sure if I am going to waste my time on Gree.Not a figure I would expect.

I'll admit, he does look pretty awesome. However I will probably pass on him because he would look a little odd being the only prequel figure on my shelf
Looks like a solid figure and one of my favourite clones too which is a double win in my book. This release however further irritates me in regards to the recent clone four pack, with the 442nd Siege Clone. I said then, it'd had been more logical to do a 41st clone either in the grey coruscant markings or camo pattern. With gree hitting now, it would have made even more sense! My only hopw now is that there's a clone pack this year that covers 'specialist clones' (41st Scout Armour, Galactic Marine, Airbourne etc) seeing how Hasbro/ disney seem against giving attention to the prequels in standard merchandising lines.
JTA has confirmed Gree will be $24.99, in their Q&A w/ Hasbro.

Well, then I take back my previous post. Looks like it's confirmed, but still stupid. Looks like Gree shot down to the bottom of my wishlist with Unnecessary TIE Pilot Repaint #2 from GameStop.
I forgot to mention that when I found the listing in the Toys R Us system...I think he's more possibly due to either the impressive paint apps or some increase in production costs. Or it could just be Hasbro's logic.... or lack thereof.
