Cool! If it’s on the level of the recent Darth Vader and Boba Fett figures, then it will be awesome. They can repaint it a dozen times and I’ll buy all of them.

I am definitely a Phase II fan, but hopefully it can also be re-tooled for Phase I. The designs are similar enough, yes?

Yes! I’m really looking forward to this one. I’m hoping we get a new Clone Trooper to rival the new Stormtrooper we got back a couple years ago. The reuse potential is pretty high.

I am a bit annoyed we didn’t get this sooner. We’ve recently gotten a lot of clones utilizing the old VC45 body. Oh well.

I don't care what they do as long as a new Cody gets released in the next couple years. Or at least a kitbash with a that cool new head sculpt!
Then you can give me Bacara too!

I have no plans to replace any of the #41 sculpt on anything I've already bought, but I'm fine with any new characters going forward or an update to the likes of Bly with SG's.

New body construction will probably be mostly like we've seen on the Jesse and Fives type ARC's Phase II's.

Those are rather short though. I'm fine with a few specialists and named commandos being shorter, but a new vanilla trooper? What, Kamino was downsizing on breakfast budget?

I’m a bit cloned out but it’ll probably be worth picking one up. Just one.

The Phase II ARCs fit in, height-wise atleast, well with the older 2005 ROTS style Clone molds, but are sill skinnier constructed like alot of the modern figures often are lately. Hasbro started making the taller and lankier Clones presumably to match the CGI of the movies better , I think concurrent at the time back when the PT films were all gonna get a re-release in theaters in 3-D. For some reason Jango and his clones were stretched anyway cause Tim was never that skinny nor at the canon height for Jango and the clones is 6 feet tall. Tim is actually 5'7".

I’m pleased for people that are into Clones, but for me I’m so bored of the endless troopers and mandalorians that they keep churning out. Star Wars is a massive universe yet so many new figures feel like they’re just Temura Morrison or wearing a somebody with a Boba Fett helmet.

Haven't you heard? 65,9 % of all matter in a Galaxy Far Far Away is Temuera DNA

From a galactic population standpoint it would likely be higher than average within the population.

Reminds me of an old Pharoah in Egypt who sired about three hundred offspring. And as a result, today around 75% of the population of Egypt are related to him.

Somebody should have told him this wasn't Sparta.

I don't hate them, but have always felt the legs could have been designed better, thus will be happy with the new style hip if incorporated properly.
That update alone will go a long way in making them better for posing purposes, oh and tighter joints so they aren't flailing around. Oh and make the helmet swappable with a head or don't even do it, not every Clone need their bucket to come off. Save that for Officers. IMO

Otherwise everything else about them were fine for me, crisp sharp lines as oppose to the pudgy look of the 05 Clones.

I once made a Genghis Khan from a Super Powers Samurai figure for a school project diorama. I remember my friends making fun of his spinning hips (because, you know, Genghis supposedly fathered half of Asia). Everything I know about any topic has an action figure connection for me.

possibly on an Andor card... the background scene on pipeline pic at sdcc was plain black too, possibly to not reveal it's from Andor...slick move hasbro, slick move

Look forward to seeing the final result although the timing definitely feels weird right after the 501st, the BB Pack, etc. -- I only had one TVC clone buck last year, now I have a dozen, and they're going out of style! I hope this time they can give us a lovely mixture of the ROTS super-articulated clone, the best of the TVC buck, and whatever new ideas the have cooked up.

I’m sure he tapped a lot of A but not as much as he thought he did.

I am kind of curious what made Hasbro decide to do an all new Clone sculpt at this point in time, aside from the repaint potential that is, after all the current mold is still rather functional compared to the original Clone mold that wore out leading to VC45.

I'm also curious if them wanting to do Captain Vaughn might have been a factor since they would also get a new Commander Cody from that, it would also cover a 501st as well as 212th slot. And it's only a helmet and torso away from a basic Clone. Vaughn would make a good choice I think as it would give Ahsoka's troops a leader and surely it's got to be on Hasbro's mind, plus I think it's too soon to go with another standard 501st trooper again when 22 release is still readily available.

I'm all for them giving the sculpt another go. IMO the perfect Clone amor would be somewhere inbetween the original 2003 CW SA figure (more accurate, thicker limbs) and the VC45 (extra articulation and removeable helmet).

No more chicken legs!

I'll be keeping all of my ROTS SA Clones, since army building at around $5 is much better than $17. But a few of these thrown in will look nice.

Small aside: was Andor the first official live action appearance of a clone trooper? In the flashback scene when Andor's adoptive father is killed.

Um, I'd argue that AOTC was the "first" official live action appearance of a Clone trooper.

Agreed, I have no intention on replacing any of the past troops I've amassed. I do look forward to a few Commander updates though, specifically Cody and Bly. Cody could be repainted for Ahsoka's Battalion Clone Commander which might actually come before Cody. lol
Maybe Bacara but I've already made a custom so no hurry there.

With all the Fett repaints we've gotten in the short time since the molds debut in 21, I'm curious just how wild Hasbro will go with this new Clone mold. I'd really like them to Release Commander Fox!

I'm also curious if they'll go with non-removable helmet at first and do a head swap later for characters that need it, or just have all of them with removable helmets?
I mean as long as they did away with that warped helmet look it should be fine.

Looks good but I will be holding off for the inevitable repaints with battalion markings.

I wonder..Andor card or Bad Batch card? Disney'd want it on one of these cardbacks before a ROTS card I'm sure.

The armor isn't accurate to AOTC and ROTS, it's based on Andor, which is based on the OWK series Clones. Hot Toys revealed their OWK specific Clone and there are changes with the live action armor from the PT CGI models.

Finally we're getting some Maori bois who've eaten and weight-lifted enough to look like healthy warriors
The old TVC mold always looked malnourished to me.

It will also be interesting to compare the live-action details up close with a cgi-derived clone figure

Would make sense to be fair since in Andor and OWK the Clones were played by performers in costumes. Mostly stunt performers for OWK and background actors for Andor.

Not sure about TBOBF for its Grogu Order 66 flashback, but wouldn't be surprised if the 501st Clones in it were performers in costumes too.

Naturally there's going to be differences between costumes and CGI models, so I think you're right.

Maybe TCW either like how the 501st Clone retool was given a new TCW card. I'm leaning more towards Andor or TBB though since we already have one figure from both those media in the wave. Would make sense if the new Phase II Clone is another for either.

Except they were all CG. The D+ series appearances are the first to use physical Clone armor, which is
what @RogueStar comment most likely suggested. For a film series with such a prestigious costume archive,
it was crazy that they never made any. I remember seeing footage of George loving the fact that they didn’t have to make one piece of Clone armor let alone hundreds.

The VC45 has passed its maximum use potential IMO. Just recently it has been used quite a bit & the tooling could be degrading. Also many collectors are tired of the use of a dated sculpt, especially when figures cost as much as they do.
We already can assume that the new sculpt is going to be reused more than we want (like Mandos & Arc Troopers). Beyond that, creating a new sculpt is more or less like hitting a reset button that gives them a perfectly good reason to
do any (or every) Clone that has been done before.
