How do you when you have taken the focus too far. And can you take
a focus too far? I can't answer that, but I’m sure that if you can,
I’m probably there by now

The latest addition to my Chirpa collection is an alternate/error original
photo art. This is probably the way how Kenner wanted the Chirpa cardback
to look like. But someone at CYB cropped the wrong ewok from the print
before they started to airbrush it.

Here you see the 35mm photo-art slide which I have had for a while,
marked 524 Chief Chirpa...

And this is the original photo art where Chirpa has been cropped,
also marked as Chief Chirpa 524. Cover is marked as
”Cheif Chirpa was cropped from pic. Wrong!”

And last I have done an image to show how the card would have looked like
if someone hadn’t mixed up the two ewoks. Can’t say it’s a cooler or a better
cardback. It’s as lame as the one it ended up to be. But hey, at least it is different

Very nice addition to your Chief Chirpa collection Mattias, congrats on this very fine find.

I like the picture Kenner actually used for the figure over this one. So somehow it was good they mixed up the Ewoks.

Mattias, is there supposed to be an iguana on Chirpa's shoulder in this pic, or did you add that?

And fwiw, I don't think that there's really any limit on how far a focus can go!

I didn't add that
It's supposed to be his pet and advisor
It's one of those force blocking lizards like Thrawn has.
(So what, I can be a fanboy too)

My vote goes with crazy. Can you say OCD?

You never cease to be inventive with your Chirpa focus, Mattias. I love seeing things like this. Those guys never quite seemed to be able to get their bears straight. Thanks for the share and best of luck with your new collection room

Love how the iguana got in the pic. Very Very Cool. Is it me or do some of those ewoks just look pist off? Chief Chirpa looks annoyed but Teebo wins hands down for just looking EVIL. The teeth, matted look to his fur...

Mattias,

You are truly a ninja of interesting graphics-related information. That's two fascinating things I've learned from you in the last week.

Thanks for all the comments guys

The 2D preprodction process is my favorite area of collecting. In my early early
career I actually worked in pretty much the same way as Kenner did. Worked with
an air-brush for photo retouch and packaging design so this is the best of two worlds,
my two favorite hobbies combined.

And this piece works as a subsitute for the real original photo-art which
unfortunately is locked up.
