There are typically a bunch of exclusive products to scoop up at these events and Orlando is likely to be no different. Be on the lookout for exclusive action figures, LEGO sets, books, magazines, comics, trading cards, photos, posters and more!

So this is my first SW Celebration coming up. How does the store work? The main Celebration Store to be specific.

1. Are all of the items available every day or will there be some day specific items?

2. Also, do they allocate per day as well? If so, is the best strategy to just get it out of the way as early as possible one day?

3. If the convention opens at like 8am or 10am, is it best to arrive 2 hours early for the shop, or is that still not enough time possibly?

4. Do items like the t-shirts last a while and the more unique items go faster? I know from 2 years ago I liked the Salacious Crumb clock I saw online, would something like that be one of those get it asap kind of items?

Any other tips/info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Welcome to the club. This will be my 8th, so I've done this rodeo quite a few times.

1) So far, there haven't been any day specific items, at last to my recollection.

2) There is a small amount of allocation per day, at least that I noticed at Celebration Europe this year with both pins and shirts. But if you want to be safe, get everything you want on day one and be done with it.

3) It really depends on if there's a big presentation to open the show again. For C7 in Anaheim, with that big force awakens trailer to open the show, most people were in line for that instead of the line to get into the exhibit hall (and store). If there's no big presentation, 2 hours is not early enough. If there is, then you could probably get away with 2 hours in advance, assuming you're willing to miss the presentation.

4) T-shirts go really, really fast. Anything with the show logo on it or if there's one for Episode 8 will probably disappear first.

Well that sucks that they open day 1 with the trailer since I'll miss it :(

At least it'll probably leak online or something. Would that also be the only panel with the cast, or way Anaheim just the trailer for that opening ceremony?

Also, are the celebration shirts the same ones I can get with my ticket order right now? If so, I'll just get that to avoid missing out haha.

Celebration VI had day specific statues of Darth Bane, Mara Jade, Quinlan Vos and a Death Trooper.

I'm not sure if that's every Celebration and probably not every item. Things like patches, pins, and some prints have definitely been first come, first served and when they sold out they were gone. At CA last year there were some trading pins held back for each day but some of the other stuff wasn't AFAIK.

Good memory, I had totally forgotten about those. They weren't anything I wanted, so I guess that's why I forgot:

I believe they've learned a little bit. The second day of Celebration Europe, almost every T-Shirt and pins that were sold out day 1 were available again, or allowed to be ordered for shipping from the registers.

I remember Hasbro didn't have any exclusives for C6 and I am curious if they will have anything for C8. I don't think Hasbro had anything for C7.

Pins are coming back, I like the image used in the announcement. I wonder if it is a hint of what they will look like.

3 early bird sets will be sold beforehand according to the celebration site

You can bet on exclusive POP figures from Funko, and most likely a 6" Black Series figure from Hasbro.

Does anyone know whose art that R2-D2 on the pin is? Jake Art, Skottie Young, Katie Cook? The style looks familiar.

Unfortunately, Hasbro has publicly stated in the past that they will only bring their store + exclusives to SDCC. Celebrations have just been a place to show off new product (and with new movie secrecy, not a whole lot of that). It used to be great when they would have a few exclusives per Celebration, and even some non-exclusive items that were available early (UGH Vintage foil figures + rocket firing Boba Fett).

I don't understand. Didn't Hasbro set up show and bring their exclusive Kylo Ren figure to last year's Celebration just 6 months ago, and the Boba Fett & Carbonite Han before that, and earlier exclusives like Fixer & Camie even before that? I don't remember Hasbro saying they wouldn't bring exclusives to Celebration. =\

Is there a change in who has the Star Wars Figure License? I see Mattel as an exhibitor instead of Hasbro. Do both of them have the license because it's so big?

That Kylo Ren was sold at the Forbidden Planet booth, not Hasbro. I don't think Hasbro even had their own booth there? I could be wrong though, since it is not something i'm interested in.
I did get 2 Kylo's, but those weren't for me.
I liked the way they handled that, though. You had to get in line to get 1 ticket for that exclusive BEFORE you got into the show, so no queueing inside. So basically you had to choose which chute you were going to qeueu in first.....one of the celebration stage panels , or the exclusive. You could only get 1 exclusive per day, but ofcourse there were people who got through that line multiple times.

Interested to see if they're doing the same thing in Orlando, no qeueuing inside (at least not until later if you want a good seat), but before opening.

Forgot to add that tickets to the celebration stage panels and the exclusive were starting to be handed out at around 6 am each morning. So since i had VIP i could simply pick up my ticket for the exclusive (which had a short queue, since everyone else made the panel queues their priority), and go back to the hotel to sleep a few more hours and have breakfast.
Then at 9:30 i could go in early, and leisurely walk to the FP booth and pick up the figure without a hassle, since they were selling them from 9:30.

The thing I realized after the last con is with each pin costing $10 + tax collecting the whole set turned out to be $400+ dollars. I got them all framed and it's probably one of my most expensive collectibles now lol. I just can't rationalize spending that kind of money on pins again.

OK how many exclusives are we usually talking about here...kinda overwhelming for a newbie!

Are we going to know ahead of time what exclusives each brand will have? Will there be advertisements? Or do we have to wait until we get there...

Hasbro stated in one of those online blog session with some of the news sites, they were having something at the show.

As for confirmed, Koto is the only one and even they have only showed a crappy preview.

Funko twitter was posting they have one of the big 9" deluxes for SWC, 2 prequel pops and 1 rebels. so thats on par for them. they've typically had 4 pops plus hikaris.

Nothing from Lego, Hallmark or Hot Wheels yet either.

Doesn't Koto have like 6 droids or something confirmed for the show? I know Triple Zero and BT were mentioned.

the norm
Hasbro - 1 lately been 6"
Funko - 2-6 its been 2-4 pops, 1-2 hikari and whatever else they are peddling now. mymoji? who knows
Lego - 1 - usually a small set
Hallmark - 1-4 - 1-2 ornament and some plushies things.
Koto - the 4 robots
Hot Wheels - 1-2 special cars

I might be missing a couple. They are all advertised or teased well ahead of time.

Great information, thanks! I'm sure when they start teasing it'll be posted to this thread!

please do not spread mis-information as this is not entirely true. YES, some VIP's bought items to flip, most of the morning lines had vendors/booth attendees in them before the VIP as well.

many people got exclusives that were NOT VIP (as evident on ebay sales in high volume) and even some vip's (in my own group) didnt get some items. It all depending on what you wanted to line up for, the demand, and there was a lack of merchandise too (funko)

I was a VIP for anaheim and i didnt get all my items on my list until the final day. i still had to stand in line for lego like everyone else

That's true. It all depended on what line you were lucky to get into early enough. ISDAvenger and I were able to get the Lego Exclusive on Saturday morning and neither one of us were VIP. It's the luck of the draw.

The biggest problem was not the VIP's, The biggest problem was the vendors buying everything before the doors opened to anyone. I found both the Lego Exclusive and the Funko at other vendor booths at 3x's the price. With the vendors making deals before the VIP's get a chance there is no chance for the standard badge holders to get it without paying an arm and a leg.

I honestly have no intention of waiting in line for any exclusives....i have no problem paying more afterwards and saving time to do panels ...browse everything...and do photops...those are only available there where as the exclusives are available for years to come....always going to make more money...cant get extra time there...

It was glorious victory. The fight and then to get a ticket in the end was quite the rush...oh the satisfaction....Ive finally been fed (some may get that reference). The 0230 mornings killed me (Friday and Saturday) though....was a contributing factor to ACC.
