First time visiting Chigago and attending all 5 days...can’t freaking wait for April!

Seize9 just make sure when roaming the streets and downtown best go in groups , have a better chance of not getting robbed or pick pocked.. Over all just safer..

Same could be said for anywhere. I've been to Chicago dozens of times, with groups and without, for vacation and business... and have never had an issue. Not once.

Usually around a big event sometimes a group of bad people like to rob people, it's always best to be alert just to be on the safe side. I say this as a retired CPD officer.
But more and likely anything bad happening to you here , probably not. But there is always that 1% chance it could, and is always best to be prepared for everything.

We do get a special swag from Rebelscum , it's called the forum badges. You have to go to the thread and put your name down for it and pick it up at the show...

First timer here, I bought 5 day passes for my Wife & I. After reading some of the posts here and other places as well, I'm starting to worry a bit. From what I've been reading panels are hard to get into if your not camping out the night before and most of the exclusives are lottery based or are FCFS and sell out quickly. What should I expect? I'm starting to wonder if I'll even be able to get anything out of going. Well I do have quite a few autographs bought, so at least I have that going for me. Any input would be appreciated.

Go in with an understanding that you won't be able to do everything you want to do. It is only the large, main stage panels that require camping out. Most panels have normal lines.

The thing I try to remind people is that amidst all of the chaos don't forget to stop and take a moment to appreciate all of the people who are there for the same reason. Love of the wars.

There is so much to do and collect there , Decide what pannels you want to see and make a game plan from there. Also if you don't always get to do everything you want , but you might find there are things there you didn't know about . Just keep an open mind and have fun , this will be my 9th one and I still haven't done everything.

Go in with an understanding that you won't be able to do everything you want to do. It is only the large, main stage panels that require camping out. Most panels have normal lines.

The thing I try to remind people is that admidst all of the chaos don't forget to stop and take a moment to appreciate all of the people who are there for the same reason. Love of the wars.

Due to a death in my immediate family I will not be able to attend now. Had to use most of my sick and accrued leave to attend the memorial services and attend to family. Next time.....

Very sorry to hear about your loss. Tend to your family, that's more important.

You'll be able to catch up on SWCC at some point. Its not the same as attending, but life throws you curveballs at times. Its how you handle it that matters.
