Went along to the Star Wars 30th Anniversary celebration at Excel today. A bit disappointing really, only occupied a quarter of the venue and most of that was shops. It was made up for slightly by the guys and girls who had dressed up and were keeping people entertained. Anyhoo, some photos...

i had a great time, granted there was bits and dabs that could of been done better, for one the dividing wall that is at the entrance that seperates it from the autograph hall(near to Anthony Daniels) could of been done a lot better I was there on Friday at the front as I was one of the first people in and it almost fell on us! It could of caused a nasty accident but luckly no-one was hurt!

I saw that!!! I was looking at the death star thinking "wow", then heard a crash and saw a very unstable wall falling on people!!! Glad no one was hurt. Did you complain though?

I WAS the first person in on Friday - and I have the aftermath of that - them attempting to put the framework back up - on tape.

They didn't say anything not even a sorry! One of the glass things that was being used to reflect the lights landed at my feet and then they lifted up the carpet and brushed the glass under!! GRRR!

I had a bit of a moan at one of the security men but they couldnt give two sh*ts.
Thinking of things Jeremy mentioned the officals would be viewing this website for our comments.
Would it be a good idea to start two threads, one positive and the other negative to help make things easier for them to view things so it clearly shows what we was happy about and what we wasn't. Providing we keep them seperate it would be great so that things don't get lost in the forums. Just a thought

I have asked bbb to remove the images. If this is not done within a reasonable amount of time I'll get a mod in.

In response to the "where was Rebelscum?" questions, please check out Where was everyone?. We used the table as a base of operations to cover the event. It's secondary purpose as a meet & greet point was overshadowed by the amount of work we had to do.

We would have loved to had time to chat with everyone who stopped by but we couldn't. The man at the computer was probably Curto. He is our news droid.

Someone suggested that we have two threads for positive/negative comments about the show. Let's not do this, but instead stick to the existing CE - Your Thoughts? thread so that the organisers have one place to look when they come out of their comas.

That's me in the blue checked shirt and jeans. We were there from just before 4am, and the woman you saw was probably my wife (not really visible in pic). She and my friends, one in a beany hat (also in pic) were arguing with security and then Darren Epstein (?) The Cards Inc guy, that the queue had been split, and that we should be let in first by rights, as we were there at just before 4am with another couple.

The framework falling scared the s**t out of me. I heard that someone had actually been injured by it. Unfortunately I didn't catch it falling on camera - just them putting it back up.

I remember seeing the bloke in the red tracksuit top and the beany hat. Did you know the bloke that was wearing glasses yellow top? Just that I seem to recall him being asked if he was a member of any sort, which he replied that he wasn't so he was removed form the members queue. Next thing you know he had the Hyperspace lanyard on.

Ah, great to see all those pictures, especially those Vader helmets. Here's a link to my pictures. My buddy took many more pics (he's got a better camera), but I won't have them till early August.

My wife remembers that guy. He was put in the wrong queue, by security. He WAS a HS member, but didn't have the lanyard, but they had his records on the computer. He was sent away to get his HS lanyard and then returned. My wife remembers him moaning that some people had paid for their tickets, but there were others got free entry due to the Daily Star promotion or something.

The guy with the red track top (Nick) and the guy in the black top (Kieran) were with us, as was the girl in the picture (Laura). Most of us met the day before at the Forbidden Planet Gentle Giant event.

Yeh I know the Daily Star was doing some sort of promotion but not sure of the in's and out's of it all so. He attempted to push in the Hamill queue (well thats what it looked like). I met up with someone that posts on a different site, through someone I met in the queue as they has both attended the US event (how random is that?) It's nice when you can meet people like that, I attended on my own but not at one point was I on my own as I met so many people. I was in front of the foreign people little kid had a black tube they was sitting on the floor playing snap (I had my psp) the youngest one popped over the HS ticket booth and just asked for a wedge of lanyards and they gave them to him

Yeah, we should've tried and arrange something, but I was hardly at RS, concerning CE. I was mainly at TFN and only met one member there, by chance. Another member had trouble getting any signal on his cell phone, so I couldn't reach him.

And with 45,000 people over the three days, it's all down to luck to meet up with each other.

Next time, then

Great set of pics, by the way
