I don't see Diego in that sculpt at all.

Though I'm sure some R1 shelves will be happy with him on it.

Looks Like Gil Gerrard. Or Elvis. Can’t see Andor anywhere.

Diego/Andor is there. You guys just have to imagine it. It's all about using your imagination :)

A pass for me. I don't collect Rogue One stuff although I do like the movie. I do agree some Rogue One collectors will be happy with this mini bust as he is essential to the film.

I think it looks pretty good. We shall see what the end product looks like though, I still wish the Dark Rey looked like the prototype…..

How does Hasbro keep pushing their sculpts to look better and better and GG can’t top their Dooku bust from 2002?

I love Rouge One, but I don’t collect any busts from the film, so it’s an easy pass for me.

I think it looks pretty solid though

I don't think they scan actors anymore. I'll probably pick this guy up.......maybe.

So... I showed this one to my 15 year old son, telling him that I might get this one to put one my R1 shelf, next to my K2-SO-bust... He looked at it, and said: "Who's that Dad? Mind you that he's as much a Star Wars-fan as I am! I said: "It's Cassian, don't you see it? He looked at it once more, than looked at me... "Doesn't look like him at all" he replied. So... for all times sake, get your act together on the likenesses Gentle Giant! I rest my case.

I shared the same experience you had with your son with my wife. She is not a collector but she's seen all the movies and TV shows, so she knows quite well who the character/Diego Luna is. When I showed her the picture of the mini bust she couldn't tell who he was either. In all fairness, I was able to see him in the sculpt ... to a limited extent. The head is a bit more rounded than the actor's and not what I would could call an excellent likeness as the recent ANH Leia statue has. Still I think it is an improvement over the Count Dooku and Jedi Luke mini busts. I agree there has to be an improvement on human likeness.

I will get it in the end, because it's one I've been really waiting for ever since they came out with K2-SO. And I agree with you on the recognition of the character to some extent. But I really think the likenesses could be improved quite a bit! Among other recent issues. It really is time for them to get their act together, as we 've seen some horrible examples of quality control issues lately!

Yeah. This is a character that should have been offered long ago, and I'm sure if I were collecting Rogue One mini busts I've would have gotten it. That being said, I'm glad for other fellow collectors that now will have a chance at it.

Human likeness or lack thereof is an issue GG has had for years. They've had their hits and misses with it. What makes it more noticeable is how frequently poor human likeness has been showing up in recent years. The high price we pay today for a mini bust should come accompanied by better paint jobs, proper scaling, and definitely better likeness of human characters. The technology and I'm sure the artists are there to accomplish this, consequently it makes one wonder how come some early releases from almost two decades ago accomplished likeness so well, and now it seems to be such a difficult task to get it done.

Same thing here. My wife knows Diego Luna from non SW projects but when I showed her a pic of the bust and asked "what actor is this?" she didn't know. I actually do see a decent likeness to Luna in the bust and as long as the actual product looks this good in hand, I'll be picking one up to go with the Jyn and K2 busts.

Would have been a testimony of great marketing, if they would have put out this bust on the market, simultaneously with the premiering of the Andor-series this week. Ah well...

It looks so cheap, yet it costs over a hundred. Those eyebrows were plastered on his face without any detail.
That's the way DST/GG think they have to do business nowadays. Deliver minimal quality, but expecting people to pay full price for it. Making as many bucks as possible, with as minimal effort as possible... Pretty sad, it has come to this, regarding GG. Nevertheless I already know, I will get this, one. It's been looong overdue, and my K2-SO-bust just screams out loud, for his counter part!

Let's see ... rather than to improve on Diego's likeness, they made it worse. Seeing this, I'm wondering how the Endor Leia Mini Bust will end up looking. Will she be too tanned or too pale?, Will the shape of her face and details change from the accurate look of the prototype to something scary? Only DST/GG know what's to come, but one thing is certain: There's horrific human likeness going on. Stay tuned!

Wow! That's a significant difference, you're showing us here Julian! Reminds me of how the production pieces for the Slave Leia-bust looked like nothing, compared to the prototype that looked superb! As I already said; "earn as much money as you can, with as little effort". Sad, but true, helas.

Exactly what I was reminded of, Peter. Who is working on these and who's approving their release? Is there any consideration toward the customers, even more now that they've increased prices? There has to be a balance between price and quality. Things can't just go one way, always towards the maker while the customer gets the short end of the stick.

This is the quality control when GG takes its time getting a bust out. Imagine what we will get if the 20+ outstanding preorders get fast-tracked to clear the backlog.

I need to chime in. Ugh, this Cassian bust is just terrible - complete garbage and a horrible likeness. Just like my Funko Pops, I will only purchase Aliens and Troopers since the human characters miss the mark every time.

Really the only human I would like to see from Andor/Rogue One is Baze Malbus. I thought he was a great character, great armor design and his repeating cannon was completely awesome to see.

Sidebar: watching Elysium the other day, Diego is in that movie. When I saw it years ago, I had no clue who he was. I love going back and seeing actors I didn't know then and now they are like one of my favorites.

Merry Christmas guys!
