Carbonized Collection fans have some fresh bounties to hunt.

Hasbro announced today new Carbonized Collection editions of Scout Trooper, Shoretrooper, and Paz Vizsla, all inspired by their appearance in The Mandalorian, for the vaunted 6-inch Star Wars: The Black Series line of action figures. In the Carbonized Collection, figures are treated with a sleek, metallic finish, while maintaining all the detail and articulation that are hallmarks of the Black Series. This marks the first complete Carbonized Collection wave dedicated to The Mandalorian since the deco’s debut in 2019; in addition, packaging for this range will also feature a Carbonized-style treatment, complementing the unique paint applications of the figures.

Man, I saw Vizsla and thought "We're getting Pre Vizsla, but why is he carbonized? I just want a standard version." Then I realized it was Paz and died inside.

Maybe they'll shock us and actually do Pre Vizsla, since most of his armor is basically Jango. Thye could even just repaint the Loyalist and sculpt a new head if they're being frugal. Though I would prefer they use Boba and just retool the legs.

While I don’t quite understand the Carbonized line, this figure looks better than the original, imho. Don’t have the heavy trooper, and may bite on this one depending on how deep they gouge.

Hasbro wouldn’t update the sculpt for accuracy when they can repaint it instead. Keep hating these repaints and cheaply made exclusives BUT we haven’t lost too much quality with the regular releases so have to keep that in mind. If this tactic allows them to make new tooling for regular releases that’s a system that benefits everyone. It just sucks when it’s something you wanted in your collection and it’s inaccurate like cough Ponda Baba cough.

While thse do feel like cheap and lazy attempts, which seam to be gettign quite excessive, my only hope is that enough people are intersted to make them worthwhile effort on their part. And that enough of tehm sell to to the intended job, subsidise new sculpts.

Not all of them are winners and even those are less of a must have with the increased price, I'd have said why not at the old normal price of $22-24, but at almost $27 for basic and $40 for Deluxe it's unfortunately a hell to the no thank you.

I have to say this is one of the best looking Carbonized figures yet. Maybe even better than the Sith Trooper. I already have 3 of him - one original boxed, one Credit Collection carded, & one original loose - but, I like the look so much I'm definitely thinking of picking up a couple more. That gold really pops!

Yeah, this one looks really great. I sold my regular edition after I picked up the Credit Collection piece, but this will probably get grabbed as well.

Yeah, the figuarts just shows how off so many details are. I get they rushed to get the figure out originally but after this carbonized release, I wouldn’t mind if they took another crack at him but I doubt it until we see him in season 3.

I had a coupon in Target Circle for $5 off a $25 toy purchase. I'm not sure whether it was one of the "just for you" coupons that was offered to me based on my purchase history or one that was available to everyone, but it would be worth checking your own Target Circle offers.

I think a resale shop near me has one of the previous ones. I skipped both of the originals but have been considering him for a bit. That price is just too high for me fort what it is. The Wampa was cheaper.

Received an email that Paz Vizsla would be delayed and requires approval. No new date was provided, though he was originally scheduled to release on May 1, 2022. However, the follow-up email I received had the "arrival" date moved up to September 16, even though there is still no date listed under my account orders. I'm somewhat dubious of the 9/16 date as that's almost 8 months early, not to mention it's the exact same date Galen/Merrick were given in the follow-up email after I approved their delay.

I got the same email on all 3 of the carbonized pre-orders. I can't speak to what your email says, but mine indicates "Wed, September 16". Well, September 16th is actually a Thursday, and next year would be a Friday, so I'm sure that is really just a "plug" date, as my order online says "Estimated: coming soon" for the release date. And if you look at the actual item details on their site it says "Release Date: coming soon!"

I did really like the gold accents but i decided to cancel my order since I already have the first release, and the $37 price didn't help matters.

I've actually purchased this figure three times. Each time on a better sale so I could then cancel the previous order. Finally got it down to around $27, which was much more palatable.

What's crazy is that the last somewhat concrete date on all these carbonized figs before they switched to "coming soon," was September. I'd really like to know where Galen, Merrick, Maldo Mando, & Droids Fett are as I was expecting all of them way before these.
