I loved the Cruise Missile Trooper and it's one of my sons most played with Star Wars toys.

This looks more like it would be in TRON than Star Wars.
I wouldn't be surprised since Tron design concepts are Disney assetts. I really wish George Lucas was onboard with the design focus. Obviously he wasn't a concept artist, but he got their best out of them, or at least got "Star Wars" out of them. I'm sure someone would disagree, because praising George Lucas for anything is controversial, but they'd be just plain wrong.

I'm tempted, just for the helmet and the belt. But $10 is still too much for 5POA parts. Same reason i haven't bit on the A-Wing, as I only want Tallie figure.

This is a terrible vehicle design. The figure is neat though. Looks like a TCW version of a Cloud Car pilot to me.

But that vehicle though...bleh. For me it's those "wings". They look awful.

I'd get one and remove the wannabe TIE wings. :{h

I agree. It's like the worst mini rig ever thought of brought to life. But we will see in a day or two.

Imagine seeing this brought to life.. I think I might geek out just a little.

I actually still have mine from my childhood... one of my favorite designs.

I was thinking that if the Canto Bright Speeder ever goes on massive clearance I'd pick up a second just for the figure and the wings of the speeder and than use the wings for a custom TIE Fighter design.

The custom TIE sounds like a neat idea/use for the wings. Like the Mining Guild variant TIE from Rebels. I'd be interested in seeing pics if you make one. :{3

They actually look pretty cool from behind in the film. It's pretty hard to get a good look at the overall profile though given it's a night time scene. It seems possible a return to Canto Bight is possible for future content though. According to wookieepedia, the wording in the article suggests they aren't exclusive to the police on Canto Bight, so there's room for fun I guess.

I don't really get the dislike of this design. I think it's pretty fun. I love all the moving parts, and the general look of it. It's basically a speeder bike with a smidge of TIE in them. I think the retro stripes help a lot.

In all seriousness, after seeing the movie, and them being fir "Police". I'd say they're too much of an open cockpit concept.
I prefer flying vehicles that enclose the pilot.

I don't mind it, but it doesn't suit the police force on that world. They're quite aggressive looking and seem suited close quaters aerial combat. I would have much prefered seeing those speeders in action, that did nothing but got trampled and blew up. Definitely should have saved them for a more hostile planet like Nar Shaddaa or Ord Mantel..assuming they might appear in the Han Solo film. Even the Mandalorian Guard of TCW would have looked more at home on these things.. but they weren't wasted at the end of the day, they were OK.

The Police force & their ship(s) that were seen in TLJ greatly reminded me of The "police force" of The Corporate Sector Authority that was depicted in the great trilogy of Han Solo novels (by the late Brian Daley) that came out in the late '70's/early '80's. These were excellent novels, and some of the best SW EU out there. The three novels were: Han Solo at Star's End; Han Solo and the Lost Legacy; Han Solo's Revenge. They took place in the years before ANH, when Han & Chewie were smugglers.

In any case, it wouldn't surprise me if the Canto Bight Police were inspired by The Corporate Sector Authority. I'm sure the makes of these new films have read at least some of the EU novels, to get inspiration for the films (i.e., the storyline involving Luke training young Jedi in the ways of the force is taken directly from '90's EU - though the details have changed).

My good man, you called it. From Wookieepedia:
"Cantonica was a desert planet in the Corporate Sector of the galaxy's Outer Rim Territories that was home to the casino city Canto Bight."

Very cool. Honestly, I hadn't even looked up Canto Bight online (on Wookieepedia or anywhere else) before I posted. I was just a huge fan of the Han Solo novels, and remember years ago even having a Sourcebook from West End Games - the b&w illustrations of the Corporate Sector security forces reminded me a lot of the way the security forces looked on Canto Bight in TLJ.

Actually, as mentioned above, it seems that Canto Bight was under the jurisdiction of The Corporate Sector Authority (though it wasn't stated as such in the film). So, based on the Daley Han Solo books, the police force's aggressive nature was spot-on re: depicting how the CSA acted. While they aren't exactly a totalitarian force, they do work for the wealthy (also as seen in TLJ), and made sure that any criminals/evil-doers/smugglers/etc. are either kept in line or arrested. This is why Han Solo & Chewie kept butting heads against them in the books.

That seems a logical explanation. I like it! I guess they would call in a regular speeder to transport detainees. Man I wish we saw those speeders in action. That is so star wars!

Wow, the connection to the Han Solo novels is pretty awesome! Their brutal nature/look didn't bother me in context. Since Cantonica (or at least Canto Bight) attracts wealthy clientele, it makes sense to me they'd they want a showy, brutal police force keeping the "rabble" in line.

Agreed! The brutal security force makes perfect sense in the context of the scene(s) in TLJ, and makes even more sense when you realize the source material:

Recently got this Canto Bight Police Speeder - it's currently a great price on Amazon. Nice toy, and I like how it reminds me of the late '80's/early '90's West End Games SW game modules. Though it's technically from TLJ (even though it wasn't actually used in the film), it could easily have been a ship in the pre-OT era.
