Status - Speculation via Stan's Rumor list, item not confirmed

Stan has hinted that we might be seeing a Cane Addiss in the near future, I'm pretty sure they were just heads on a long pole in the movie, do they even have a body? Any thoughts or ideas on what they'd like to see with this figure?

Anyone want to see this figure made?

I'd love to see this one get made, I just hope that if they decide to give the heads a body that it looks natural for their design, and not anything over the top. Maybe they'll be like the puppets from the movie, just heads on sticks.

Hem Dazon was just a head on a stick too, wasn't he? Hasbro pulled that one off very well, so I have faith. And I would love to see this figure just because of how odd it is. :)

To be honest, I wasn't really a big fan of the body that Hasbro sculpted for Hem Dazon. It just didn't mesh that well with the rest of the Cantina patrons, in my opinion. To explain what I mean, the rest of the aliens in the Cantina wore outfits that looked like they were slapped together by an under-budgeted, time-constrained costume department for a movie that everybody expected to be a failure. Then we get Hem Dazon with his "Look at how cool I am, I've got shoulder pads and pouches everywhere!" outfit. It just didn't work for me.

I know that Hasbro was going off of the crappy EU source material for Hem, but that leaves me with very little faith in how they will attempt to handle Cane Adiss.

Anyways, I'm still really looking forward to this figure; but I hope they at least include the option to have the heads removable so that we can toss the body in the trash if we so choose. Especially if it looks anything like this abomination:

(I apologize to whoever made this custom. The heads actually look really good, but there's no nice way to say it - that body is awful.)

That's the kind of thing I'm afraid of. Removable heads/necks would be perfect. I also agree that hem dazon's outfit never looked right to me either. Not to mention those horrible legs.

At the risk of igniting an old debate, I'd prefer just the heads and necks as well, as that's honestly what I thought this design was supposed to be in its entirety, based on the maquette - a pair of trunk-like beings without limbs but perhaps prehensile tongues? I've yet to see an invented body design that I like and never really cared for the whole two-headed notion.

To appease both those who favour an extrapolated EU two-headed dinosaur and those, like me, who thought this creature was actually two snake-like beings with anemone-like suckers at the base of their bodies, Hasbro could make the necks sufficiently long and unplugable.

I've always envisioned something similar to that custom, but not as godzilla-ish. Maybe more lizardlike, with an iguana type streamlined body down on all fours with extra grasping apendages (he is a pilot after all). He has to have a body that's low to the ground because in the movie his necks extended all the way to the floor.

Just putting his necks on a snake body would be incredibly boring and not very toylike (or realistic to the character). He's supposed to be a large alien.

I can see this guy eating Jabbas face off and laughing at him while he takes a big hit of deathsticks.

Yeah, but I'm not sure that's a fair comparison as it seems pretty clear Hem was supposed to have some kind of body beneath the camera's field of view. I think those of us in the snakey camp regarding Cane feel that the original design intention seemed to be two limbless creatures (meaning the original design maquette depicted a full body design rather than just a bust) instead of two heads of a single unseen critter. However, I'd be the first to acknowledge that is a matter of interpretation. Regardless of what Hasbro does, I can always futz with it to bring it in line with my own tastes anyhow. :)

I agree. I've always seen the character as two individual snake-like aliens, not one two-headed alien.

Also I take the whole EU "pilot" thing with a grain of salt. It's right up there with Clone Emperors and Boba Fett being the best-man at Dengar's wedding on the stupidity scale.

I'm not much of a customizer, but this is what i came up with for my custom for my jabba's palace. It's more of a sculpture than a figure ( no articulation) I tried to make the body and neck flow as natural as possible. I've only seen one other custom of Cane(shown as few pages back), the head and neck sculpt are awesome, but the body didn't do it for me. So i came up with this dino inspired version.

I absolutely want this made. But I really have no idea yet what kind of anatomy I'd like to see... Obviously Hasbro should find out what LFL had in mind for the design, if anything. I would have no problem with a two-headed creature. I can't say two separate serpents would be a bad thing either. But I most certainly want it or them made! Hopefully they'll come up with something that looks like it stepped (or slithered) right out of Return of the Jedi! :)

Yeah like you guys said, not to start the debate up again but it's likely that whatever Hasbro comes up with the necks will be articulated at the base so you can remove them somehow. In that sense you might be easier to please than me when it comes to the figure design lol.

I'm hoping for something that looks cool in a diorama and fit's the official character description as I actually like the fan created backstory and when I was young I really liked dinosaurs lol.

Awesome custom! A nicely articulated version of that (maybe w/ a slimmer body) would be my ideal! Great job! Looks way better than the other custom. Just don't forget Cane's black hair tails. Hopefully Hasbro doesn't miss this super obscure detail!

While there are complaints about the customs' bodies, that's what the EU has come up with for Cane Adiss. And I'm okay with it. I do not, however, like Hem Dazon's costume - and his neck wasn't long enough to match his movie counterpart.

You all are very picky. :D Or maybe I'm easily pleased. :p

I liked Hem's figure a lot, the body looked fine to me (though i always felt the head was off and should have been a little more pointy on the sides). As for Cane (and) Addiss, I think I'd prefer a single body like the custom Ashy posted (I love that!), instead of just a pair of necks and heads. That would make for quite a boring figure and I don't see Hasbro doing that. Being able to pop the heads off at the base of the neck could be a possibility, but I can't imagine that looking good in a display unless you always obscure the bottom half of the neck from view and leave it to the imagination like the film did.

Also, according to EU, Boba Fett was Dengar's best man? That just made my day. :D

I don't know much about Cane Addiss but any and every character being made in Jabba's Palace is right up at the top of my list! He's just about as obscure as Loje Nella. As far as I know, Cane is only in the scene where Han and Leia are captured right? Another character I thought Hasbro did a fantastic job on was Dice Ibegon and I had no idea what the rest of a florn lamproid looked like before the figure was made. I, for one, think the Hem Dazon figure looks great and he's always been a favorite figure for me. It has bothered me however, since knowing Arconas have the upright ankle joint, that El Les has normal human feet. I know I'm getting off topic.

I also really like Hem Dazon. His body took some getting used to, but that's because he never had one; we had what, 25 years to imagine what the rest of him looked like? I love the fig though.

There's some pretty wackball **** in EU. :\

I always thought Cane was just a two-headed snake. No body? Anyway I think Hasbro should pack him with another character, like they did with Dice, who didn't have much of a body either.

This is one funky creature!

Hope Hasbro does a good job on the body. I'd say Dice Ibegon was pretty good.

I like this character and hope this rumor is true. I've always imagined the body to be similar to that of the Eborsisk in the movie Willow - if it sported something like that, it would be amazing.

I have a bad feeling about this...

Frankly, the design just doesnt do it for me. On one hand, yeah, not all sentients need be human sized bipeds... on the other you have a silly looking two headed snake giraffe thing.

So if it's established EU that he's dinosaurian, I'm sure that's what we'll get. But if it's not a moot discussion, I'm starting to learn toward the more serpentine options. I don't think I'd mind seeing something that's essentially a snake with two heads. Maybe with arms or forelegs like the dragonsnake and Bubo have? If he's going to have arms and legs, I think I'd prefer skinny, little ones with no bulk of body; just a snakey body, something like a Chinese dragon.

If it's the dino we've seen in customs, perhaps removable heads, as some have mentioned, wouldn't be out of the question. Maybe some of us would prefer to pull the heads off and just have them peek out from behind a corner in their dioramas? Or poking out of some grating, having a look around? :D

PS So weird... The smiley pallette still changes randomly and one can't even view a pop-up of the rest of the smilies?!

He's quite a big character, I definitely don't see him being a pack-in.

Yeah, here's an image of the original design maquette:

And the puppets:

yeah, given how huge they were, there's no way this could be a pack-in and be even half the size it should. I don't think it's even a reasonable carded candidate, even if it were just a pair or necks. Body or two snakes, for this figure or figures to be done right it/they have to be in a multi-pack of some kind I think.

I wonder if sketches exist somewhere in the archives? I'd be willing to offer my services to Lucas and Hasbro. Fly me out to the Skywalker Ranch and give me a few weeks to dig through everything to see what i can find. Naturally I'll need a car, spending money, also I'll need access to the onsite shipping facility, several large boxes and no questions asked.

You'll also need an assistant. You can pay me in advance.

I don't know about this one. I have no idea how they go about pulling this off, if they try that is. I don't like this character too much anyways. Creepy too.

Always open for another interesting alien, but I think there's a ton of room to mess this up.
