Can we start a serious discussion of the Tonnika Sisters yet?

If someone doesn’t want to pay $400 that’s totally understandable.

Those people will pay $200 for their 2 space Hookers later :p

That "joke" has already been used. Hopefully all the resellers breakeven at best, because they're trying to help fellow collectors, not become scalpers, right? lol I doubt anyone that has an issue with the price is going to buy anything later, that would be flushing even more money away, I'd rather not own the Tonnikas than give hundreds of dollars to a profiteering reseller.

Exclusives that are a total brushoff to all the collectors that consider these characters some of their fan favorites, but either don't want a cantina, or maybe can't afford it. I'd be rather self-centered to say that since I'm buying it, that everyone else should do the same, even if they're not able to do so. How about a bit of empathy and understanding for people that aren't in the same position?
Huh? I’m not ******* saying that at all. I didn’t say I was against it, Gandhi. It’s not my rules. If it were up to me, everyone would get a free Barge. I’m just saying it’s Hasbro’s policy. I’m sick of people trying to convince newbies who may not know that these figures are going to be released later, because Hasbro said they weren’t.

This is no different than anything else in life... Yes it's expensive, but not all of us can afford a Ferrari. Not everyone gets to vacation on a private island. If you want the item or want the experience, you pay for it... sometimes amounts that are not entirely 'worth it'. I'd rather not see Taylor Swift in concert than spend $1000+ to go watch someone sing and dance. I love Star Wars, but I'm not spending $200-400 on Hot Toys figures. If you want the Tonnika sisters, you pay the amount offered. If not, you don't get them.

If the figures are all you want out of this... you will be able to sell the parts you don't want eventually. Get the Base set and I'm sure someone would be happy to pay you $250-300 for that next month minus the figures. You get 4 figures for around $100-150... maybe more figures yet?

I don't want to pay $25-35 per figure, but for exclusives... that's really not out of the realm of normal.

I didn't say you said anything, Einstein, I posed a premise, regarding a larger group of backers that sum it up to "tough luck" - saying if you want the figures, suck it up and buy the cantina. Or the notion that collectors have to be resellers in order to get figures they want. Some backers are so obsessed that they're becoming unhinged at any conjecture that doesn't follow suit.

For reference I spent about $75 for my custom twins. Maybe more as I don’t really like my paint job on them.

$50 gets you retro twins on Etsy.

I am sure someone will get a good deal once these hit eBay but for now Hasbro isn’t planning on releasing them & I would take them at their word as it doesn’t help them at all to release them anytime soon.

As it is we pretty much got all the Ghost figures before the Ghost was released. So those special ones will likely stay on cards.

Who the **** said that? I’ve never seen anyone in this or any thread say that.

The gap isn't closed, considering there is going to still be demand for the Tonnikas from potentially thousands of other collectors that didn't want a cantina playset, lol. Maybe a campaign to get them into Retro might make them available to all fans, without the paywall?
Yup, and it wasn't the actresses wish to have them behind a paywall.

They should make them as Retros.

As for being too niche to sell, I call BS. They've released some very obscure stuff over the years.

I could see maybe with a multipack way down the line, but I think with the way Hasbro plays it these days, they’re probably way too obscure for them to add to the regular mainline roster. If this were the Legacy days, sure, but not now.

Now that these two are finally in the bag who do was start heavily campaigning for now? Sim Aloo? Or another completely unmade character?

I feel like both Arleil and Sim are solidly on Hasbro's radar. The only reason not to do Arleil would be out of some sort of odd spite related to the Haslab, but I don't think Hasbro has time for that.

I'm debating who I want to shift my priorities to. I feel like there are several great options. Of course Arleil and Sim, but what about Bodhi Rook and Baze Malbus? The 5POA figures are not good. I'd add Luthen Rael (but he will likely have a second chance with Andor Season2). I also REALLY want Kitster and Wald and Peli Moto. I think those are all quality candidates to get behind.

If you don't want to back newer stuff (Disney era), then I'd push for more Cantina Aliens or Jabba's Palace denizens. There isn't a lot left in the OT that hasn't been done, but a good number of figures that could use a redo.

Arleil Will likely come out this year or next. In a perfect world they would put him in a multi pack & swap him for the repack they originally planned.

Sim, Bodi, Blaze etc could all come out it’s just where it makes the most sense.

My personal opinion is that the random (prequel or whatever) character that gets packed in with a totally different themed wave is likely to either be hard to find or a pegwarmer, depending where said wave ends up.

I am hopeful if Sim Aloo is ever released he isn't packed in with a new shuttle or a Death Star playset, as I do not want either.

If we ever get Sim, I vote for a multi pack with his mates! (Yes like the Jaba pack carded, not that I care)

Heck repack the same figure with different heads & robes to make it cheaper for Hasbro.

I definitely wouldn't put it past Hasbro, it's felt that way with a couple things in the past when things didn't go as planned. That said, I don't feel it's warranted in this case because the performance of a HasLab is out of anyone's control. Now had it only funded I suspect we'd be waiting a very long time for the last two tiers simply due to logistics.

Not going to commit to it as fact, but I have a strong feeling that all of the figures from the Cantina will get reissued at some point somehow, Greedo tops the list simply being a 96er so I expect to see that soon. The 2-3 tiers will likely find a place in a multipack with an added figure/character or some mish mash. The three base figures could wind up as an Exclusive 3-pk similar to the Dr Aphra set, or a special 2-pk for the Tonnika Sisters.

Another potential is each one comes packaged with a section of the bar for collectors to at least assemble a small setup of it for their shelves, but it would require about 4-5 figure releases "ultra" style for probably around $60 each. Of course, this is all five years out at the soonest and would likely take a few years to finish.

They could easily repack the Haslab cantina figures in a Jabba's goons style 4-pack and then drop Greedo into main line. They can wait until the ANH 50th anniversary, so the backers aren't sore about exclusivity. They should eventually get the Tonnikas into the hands of all fans, including the actress, lol. She'd have to buy a cantina to get her own figure! Unless Victoria crowdfunded one for her already, haha.

I agree. Unique backgrounders like those should NOT be limited to an expensive Haslab.
