Cal Kestis (Jedi Fallen Order) - #GG02

Nice! I will definitely pick that up. I have the original, but always wanted a version with the poncho. Some nice extra accessories in there too.
 
Gosh, I don't truly know how I feel about this one, definitely torn. I mean it's nice to get this character out again for those who missed him the first time, but "Deluxe" simply for a few more accessories? Granted it's nice to get Master Topal's Saber even if we'll never actually see his figure.

Personally though the creature does nothing for me nor does the hood and whatever that device is. I think it's definitely a cash grab to try and get even more for a basic repaint, so instead of the normal $22-24 it's gonna cost $30+

What they should do is kitbash a body with Ello Asty's head to create Prauf, or a helmetless version of Trilla. Eno Cordova is also possible with just a head sculpt and a repainted Obi-Wan body.

Awesome! I missed out on the first Cal, so I'll definitely pick this up... if I can find it.

Everything is a cash grab from Hasbro! They are in business to make money.
 
I don’t love the BD skin or the poncho/outfit choices for Cal, but even so this will be a difficult one to resist.
 
This could very well be one of the coolest Gaming Greats figures ever released. It looks that awesome. Even though I already have the Black Series figure, I will definitely be getting this figure too.

If there is anything to nitpick, it's that one pic of the Cal Kestis figure holding the Holocron. It looks so awkward. Hasbro might have included an extra pair of hands to help make the figure look more "natural" holding the thing.

According to a Canadian website, it's going to be sold at EB Games and will cost $44.99 which I'm guessing is in CAD. So it's probably going to be sold here at Gamestop for like $34.99 in USD. Though I think it should cost more like $29.99 overall.
 
That's probably my least favorite Cal skin and it doesn't look like the poncho comes off, but I loved everything about the game so much that this is a must. The bogling and holocron are nice and appreciated add ons that in surprised they made.

Also I'm curious how that BD-1 is attached. If they made a better at for him to stay put, that's a big plus.

Not sure it would fit over the clone body without some modifications, but that poncho would be pretty great to recreate this shot.
 
Oh crap! I just saw the post by Lobotscomb. Now that he mentions it and after seeing that pic, I can't get it out of my head.

Now every time I look at that figure, I'm gonna think of KJ Apa. Darn you Lobotscomb. Argh!
 
Day one preorder for me!

-Paint apps look sharper on the face to me
-Double bladed Jaro Tapal lightsaber with green blades
-BD1 Alternate skin
-Alien accessory
- Hood add on
-Jedi Holocron!

Lots to love in this set honestly. We should encourage this from Hasbro.
 
I missed out on the first version of him as I prioritised on other figures, so ill grab this one. The little extras are rather nice additions too so not a bad release. Maybe we will get some of the other characters?
 
Looks like they ditched the box style for the new Phase IV mural packaging. Can't really tell at this angle, but I wonder if there will be other figures that "connect" and if they will be per property (JFO) or per line (Gaming Greats).

Yakface has a better pic on their main, wich makes the artwork better visible. There is something with tubes/hoses at head-level on the left edge, but its "hidden" by the top blade of the lightsaber. Can' t remember anything seen in the game that would fit.

Here is a better look at the side of the box.

I have the "Art of" book but not the game, so I can't identify whatever character/structure is to Cal's left.

Amazing that they couldn't reveal this during the Fan First Friday livestream.
 
im actually REALLY pumped about this release. the figure looks great

im frankly a little shocked that this is only the second Cal Kestis to the line becuase with the multiple outfit options and saber options available in game i could have easily seen them trying to sprinkle exclusive Cals all over
 
I'm probably gonna get this. Kinda wish he was wearing the outfit of the V1 and just with the new poncho and hood added though as I prefer the darker colors to the orange, but still gonna get it. If I had the original one, I could have just swapped parts to make the look I want, but it's too expensive getting the original.

also call me crazy but it looks like they may have articulated BD-1's feet, that would help so much in posing him on Cal's Back

Preordered two Cals. Although it has a release date of 6/1, my local GS manager said that "6/1" is often used as a temporary placeholder date. It could arrive sooner. I mean they already have finished product for the press images so I have to imagine the release will be earlier.

If they are Battlefront they wouldn't appear in the same "mural" and color scheme as Jedi: Fall Order, unless the mural is for all Gaming Greats figures regardless of origin. It would also be odd if Cal were #02 in the line but not unprecedented.

Also if they're reissuing the Jumptrooper they'd do it in the old box, like they're doing for the Inferno Squad Trooper, Purge Trooper, and Shock Trooper. Maybe it's a new Jumptrooper with white shoulder armor and the new Stormtrooper mold as a base?

Yeah they really need to look into doing this for Star Wars figures, if they can include 2-5 different hand variants for ML figures then it's certainly possible here too!
That is the drawback to having more than just a Saber or Blaster as accessories.

Speaking of accessories thanks for the additional images, I couldn't make out the Holocron in the first one. So it's nice to see something like that get released, not sure if it's ever been released before.

Since I'm a sucker I went ahead an preordered him! lol

I'm leaning towards it being all one line rather than per property just because I can't see there being that many releases per property to really fill out a mural.

Agreed. Wouldn't it be nuts, though, if the reissued figures show up in Phase IV packaging? Extremely unlikely, but still something to wish for. 🙏
