Re: BoboFatt\'s Collection

Chris,
Wow...I love the collection. I hope that one day mine will grow up to be just like yours. LOL. Any chance of WIP pictures of the case you built for the falcon?

Thanks guys...Seer - no, I didn't think about WIP pics at the time...I was in a hurry to get it built so I could display the beast.
I plan on doing all custom stands and shelves for the rest of my collection this spring and I'll be sure to take some WIP pics.

Re: BoboFatt\'s Collection

Some old, some new. I was going through some stuff I'm selling and found these mini dioramas from Japan. Not replicas, but I think their cool. Nickle is for size ref.

I also just got my Mondo Luke's Destiny print today. I'll eventually get it custom framed, but that's for another day and dollar...

Re: BoboFatt\'s Collection

I got my Olly set. Man art collecting is just as expensive as prop collecting. I have to say though, I'm really happy with the pieces. Now I'm knee deep in figuring out custom framing.

Thanks dinix. I don't know what I'm going to do with my statues once my art work if framed. I'm quickly running out of room!

Two problems with that, the wife and grease.

The falcon art is a canvas print. It is a nice accent to the MR Falcon.

My mondo prints go to the framers Tuesday. Hopefully some new pics by the weekend.

Nice collection. I need to get my hands on a set of Olly Moss prints. I missed out on launch day. Can't wait to see yours framed.

Thanks watto.

I missed out on the set as well. I had the page up, refreshed it, and they were gone...

I'm a newbee in the fine art world and learned my leason. I had to buy them on the secondary market. I don't have to tell you that it was mind boggling what they were going for. To boot, framing was crazy as well, but I think the end result will be well worth it. I'm be posting pics all over the boards. Everyone will probably get sick of it, but I got to get my moneys worth out of it.

To be continued...

Re: BoboFatt\'s Collection

Got another piece to the puzzle today. It fell into my lap thanks to another Scummer.

I put off getting this forever thinking it was to close to the ESB Han, but I'm glad I changed my mind. Now my blaster wall is complete...that is, until I build some custom shelving later this year.

What table display are you using for your MR Falcon and ATAT?

I built the one the Falcon is on. The AT-AT bookcase was bought at Target. Before the Summer starts, all my props and SS, with the exception of the AT-AT, will be on custom shelves.

The "stand" to the right of the Falcon - that is from Target?

Thanks in advance!

Yup. I think I got it about a year ago. They change products often at Target. Hopefully you can find it if you're looking. Good luck!

Re: BoboFatt\'s Collection

I got 3 out of my 4 prints back from the framers. I should hopefully get "Lukes Destiny" back tomorrow...it is getting the same treatment as my Olly set. It's hard to tell how mammoth the frames are from the pics, but they are 3'x4' each. Sorry about the glare...anti-glare glass was about another $400 and that wan't gonna fly.

I included a progression of my art wall for fun. I like all the versions of my wall, but the final set is by far my favorite.

I have to patch up some holes and put up my last print, so more pics to come!

Enjoy!

Re: BoboFatt\'s Collection

Can I ask where the Falcon canvas came from?

And, what's with the AT-AT taking a HUUUUUUGE step. Heh.

Thanks everyone...I'm glad I'm not the only one that appreciates how stunning the prints are and how the pop now that they're matted and framed.

SSint
I got the Falcon canvas print shipped from overseas. I think I posted a link earlier in my thread.

I'm assuming the AT-AT you're referring to, is the mini from Japan? I think he's trying to step over the snowspeeder. Maybe he didn't want to ruin his manni.

I got my last print back from the framers. I also took new pics with the flash...surprisingly a lot less glare.

Re: BoboFatt\'s Collection

Thanks everyone. I've been having a lot of fun making updates to my shrine and I think those prints take it to a different level.

Dinix - man, you are hitting the boards hard. I see you all over the place

Tig - I hope you find your prints one day. They are worth it.

Luis - Happy early bday to you also! Maybe you can get some update pics of your collection posted for your bday.

Gianco - I think I almost like the print as much as my MR Falcon. Never thought that would happen!

Hey Chris,

Happy Belated birthday!

The room looks great! I have always loved those prints because they are just really simple beautiful pieces of art. And the colors are spot-on. Congrats on the amazing pieces.

I am looking forward to the items that you add next!

I thought about it. It's on my list, but there are a number of things before it.

Re: BoboFatt\'s Collection

Not a new prop, but I did dig up all my vintage figures from my parents house. I thought I should display the things that started my collecting habit. I found this great custom cabinet maker online.

The cabinet is as advertised, with a few modifications:

*Star Wars logo and line span at the top
*Kenner logo at the bottom
*No locking clasp on the outside, inside magnetic cabinet clasps instead
*Hinges on the bottom instead of the side

The cabinet has a cleaner look with the clasp and hinge modification. Tom, a fellow RS member, was great to work with.

As for my collection…other then the Skiff Lando I got from another scummer, and the Hoth Luke I took from my wife, it’s all the stuff I played with as a kid. I have some holes to fill. So in the mean time, I put some old adds in to fill the space.

I have to say, it's fun looking at the toys that stated it all for me.
