Here it is, the Leia ROS saber by Korbanth. As soon as I saw this saber on screen I knew I needed one in my collection. This saber is really well made and I think it looks great even if it is not 100% accurate. Unfortunately this sample showed up with a few scuffs on it but the seller was a very reasonable guy who adjusted the price accordingly. I'm having a custom acrylic stand made for it and that should get here in about a week. Can't wait for it to go in the collection room.

Wow! That's a beautiful hilt. See, you know I don't collect from the ST, but a lot of their designs, from outfits to weaponry, ARE really nice. This one looks beautiful. Sleek and elegant. I would put it in the same realm as the Dooku lightsaber. Congrats on the new Saber!

Thanks! Yeah, I just love the look of it. A beautiful weapon. And pretty interesting that JJ partially based it off an art deco lamp.

Hmm. That is why the design looked familiar. Like something I'd seen before. Probably because of all the Art Deco design/influence on Miami Beach seen on buildings, etc. It's got that French look to it. Very interesting!

Huge congrats on the Saber Ben, looks beautiful!!

I have a number of Disney’s GE sabers that I would love to get acrylic stands for and even a Todd’s Costume DL-44. Can you provide more details/ pics on where you are getting the custom acrylic stand made? Would love to find some MR style options to display these pieces.

Also, we are currently on vacation in Charleston and Hilton Head. Beautiful areas in SC!

The acrylic stand I'm getting is from ebay member "swlaserart" (link below). Jay is great to work with and has reasonable pricing given that he'll tailor the stand to your specific saber hilt. He'll put the specific movie title on its base...mine will be the SW logo with The Rise Of Skywalker. He'll also take specific measurements from you as to where the supports should go so that the saber is level and centered on the stand.

I used Jay before for my Kylo hilt:

The case for that one came from Cases for Collectibles. I'm not doing a case for this Leia saber though as it will be inside a curio.

Very cool that you're on vacation in these parts. Enjoy but stay safe. I'm sure you're well aware that the virus is pretty bad here now and hospitals are under extreme stress (I know as I work for one).

Thanks Julian. Now I really want a Leia ROS Jedi training flashback mini bust from GG to go with it. Oh, I know...doubt that will happen but I can dream, right?

Yup. Keep dreaming. That's what I do most of the time. :) Why there aren't versions of Leia and Han with their aged look from the ST movies makes no sense. Maybe they are afraid the likeness will not be there and the sales will fail. I have no interest for the ST, other than the look of the characters and places which is always attractive from every film, thus as someone on the outside looking in, well, I think ST collectors deserve to have these characters made. But then again I think about the Bespin Luke mini bust people have been asking for years to see made into a mini bust, and those requests falling on deaf ears, even more during the 40th anniversary of the film, and I'm left with one thought in mind: It is not what you want to see made; it's what they want to see made. :)

Yeah, pretty amazing that after all these years we haven't gotten a Bespin Luke MB. If they really nailed the likeness I'd buy one.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.

Small addition to my collection...the Regal Robot mini Mythosaur skull.
Backstory...I got an email from Sideshow the other day that I had $80 worth of rewards points expiring soon and I needed to make a purchase to keep the points active or I'd lose them. So after browsing a while at SW items under $100 the skull is what I came up with. I didn't even know that SS sold RR stuff. I had meant to add the skull to my collection but just never got around to it and now I got it free (just had to pay the shipping). A very nice little collectible.

Congratulations on the free skull, Ben. It's a really nice sculpt I couldn't pass up when it first came out; very realistic. If you are collecting some of The Mandalorian stuff or plan on doing so, I can highly recommend the Mudhorn skull, also from RR. It looks just as realistic as the Mythosaur one you've just got. By the way the skull looks great next to your Boba Fett helmet and the Boba Fett statue. 👍

Thanks Julian. I really like the larger skull that's mounted on the yellow board but just don't have room for it. The mini is just the right size for my collection.
I don't think I'll be collecting from the Mandalorian...just no room!

I hear you about the lack of room to display. I'm there with you, staying away from buying any TM stuff. But, you need to at least try to adopt the child. I have one hidden in the garage for the missus from Box Lunch to give to her this Christmas. She's in love with the little green guy. He/She/It is quite cute, to be honest. :)

Well here's the small update. I also posted this in the fan made props section.

I just recently added a Leia KR saber to my collection and am really pleased with how it came out...

I love the genuine mother of pearl inlays. I had a Korbanth which was a really great saber too but not quite as accurate as the KR. The Korbanth is the larger (and heavier) one with the darker copper look vs. the KR's rose gold.

Note the cut outs in the emitter on the KR...

Totally copying Julian's idea for creating a beverage for my Momaw Nadon mini bust, I did this fun little project. I first found a clear tube of pencil erasers. By sanding it down, I was able to get the blue writing off and get a "frosted glass" look...

Next I used my Dremel to cut it and got some clear glue which I mixed with a drop of blue food coloring and filled the "glass"...

Some Superglue and Hammerhead is thirsty no more...

In hindsight, a slightly larger "glass" might have been better but I'm still pretty pleased with how this turned out.

Alright, Ben! I like the frosted look. Now we can both say we have unique drinking Hammerhead buddies! :)

I'm probably the last Star Wars fan who's started watching the Mandalorian but I just got through season 1. Why so late to the party? Well 2020 happened and something always seemed to get in the way of me subscribing to Disney+. I had heard great things about the series but still wasn't sure I'd love it. Well I was wrong. Amazing show. I also said I wasn't going to collect from this show mainly because I'm out of room, and at this point, if I want to add to my collection, it means getting rid of something that may be a little hard to part with. Anyway, with a little rearranging, I managed to eke out a shelf under my OT bounty hunters. So stay tuned. I've got some orders in. :)
