I am a big Gentle Giant collector, but I am considering making my first Attakus purchase. I have been thinking about getting the Han Carbonite statue and I was wondering if anyone out there that has one can give me their opinions of this piece. I am trying to decide between that and a couple other non-statue pieces, so any help, or pictures would be appreciated. Thanks a lot!

It is quite larger in scale than any of the gg statues, but is a great piece that can be had for a pretty reasonable price.

I have marveled at the Attakus Han in Carbonite statue many times.

I doubt GG can beat it.

The scale is not the same but I have both Attakus Han in Carbonite & GG Darth Vader and they look pretty cool side by side. I even did put Sideshow Han & Luke and Koto Boba on the same shelf.
I think my next purchase will be GG Chewie.

Sorry, I don't own a digital camera, though...

Thanks for the info guys. I was pretty positive it wasn't the same scale as GG stuff, but that doesn't bother me. I was just wondering if it was a worthwhile piece to buy. Looks like it is!

At least give them a chance to show what they can do!
Do you have a criticism of this Attakus statue? I'd like to hear what it is.
Anyway, mewsh1, IMO this statue is top notch. A bit lighter in weight than other Attakus statues but the details, such as the side controls, the carbonate pulling away from Han's fingers and the saliva coming out of Han's mouth are excellent. Big too...16" tall. You can currently buy one on ebay for $180 from a seller with good feedback. You requested a picture so here is mine next to Code 3's Falcon:

How does this look next to the SS 1/4 scale statues?
Is it too small to fit in with them as I've been considering picking it up to go with them for awhile now.

Sounds like it would be a little short for them... they said 16 inches, right, and SSC PF guys are generally around 18 or 19 if I'm not mistaken.
It's a great looking piece though!
I've been admiring this and a handful of other Attakus pieces from a far for a long time, and it still just looks incredible. Wish I'd have seen that $91 shipped one!

I think it will be too small for the Sideshow PF statues. I plan on displaying mine with the 1/6 scale Jabba and Throne. Even then it is going to be a little too big, but not enough that everyone will notice.

I display mine with my GG Boussh bust right under my Dave Dorman print of Leia/Boushh and Han in carbonite. I think she's a little larger than she would be if she were in proper scale, but very close scale-wise.

Ok, I went ahead and got the statue and it arrived today, but I have one quick question. Does anyone have a scan of their certificate of authenticity, or can tell me what their's says. When I looked at mine, it says that it is for the Han Solo Carbonite in big letters, but then when you read the description, it says something about a hand crafted likeness of Princess Leia. Huh? Are they all like this, or is something up with mine. It is the Japanese version limited to 200, by the way, in case that makes a difference. Let me know if you can help. Thanks again.

Must be a typo on the Japanese version COAs. I have #915/1500 and it says Han Solo "Carbonite" ...presents an authentic hand-made representation of Han Solo, in cold cast porcelain...
