Astromech Droids 6 Pack - EE Exclusive

This set probably isn't going to be as exciting as I initially thought. Dangit.

I don't blame EE, but I do blame Hasbro if this turns out to be an astromech only set. I don't think that's what most 3.75" fans are hoping for.

However, if Grummgar was announced as one of the figures, then I would be ready to order this set based on that alone.

Perhaps droids are just one part of the set. We could see other figures as well.

As much as I love astromechs, I would be a little disappointed if it were another all astromech multipack since we're in a very bad 3.75 SA drought.
 
I don't think that they will be droids. This was taken from the description. Unless they want mislead us. That would be cruel.

"Figures include cool accessories and have the articulation you've come to love from The Vintage Collection and The Black Series."
 
There probably will be droids. Hopefully not the whole thing. The text and image seem to have some clues pointing to droids.

Wow. That straight up sucks. I don't think this will sell as well as they think based on the comments here. Imagine if it was what we all started imagining it could be and they would have easily sold out. Just sucks that the guy who has been able to get these sets done over the years has an obsession with astromechs. Just imagine if he were into jabbas palace or the cantina. But $80 for six repaints? No thanks. And SA? Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!
 
The 360 over the last couple of days is unreal. Super-articulation in the vein of Vintage Collection and Black Series does not scream "Astromechs" to me.

If that's what they have in mind, it's incredibly disappointing.
 
Lol. Glad, at least, that we are getting something but couldn't be more disappointed. I found a list I copied from here, of rumored figures that were seemingly close since they were on the same list with Dutch, Han carb, model, boussh, etc. it was yakface, twizvit, rebel guard, Breslin guard, etc. any of them would've fit just fine. Who cares if there was no themes to them. To hell with a theme.

And all all that time, they were rushing you to pre-order. It just makes me wonder when we are gonna get something we actually like.
 
I've gathered all the hints I could...
-D R O I D
-1 will be OT at least
-Some odd reference to salt and something on a certain character
-There is a Theme
-5 will be new as in never made before as action figure
-1 was never made in realistic style (likely made in clone wars then) *or the Droids cartoon? WHICH ADAM LIKES
-1 is definitely from clone wars
-1 might be same as another figure enough to make you mad (depending on your stability and what makes you mad)
-Packaging "HAS LEGS" and not metaphorically - supposedly very unique packaging.
-These are not necessarily new tooling, which could mean kitbash... but that isn't a bad thing.
-
-NO Phantom Menace
-NO Force Awakens
-Not Meebur Gascon or Ziro the hutt or Pong Krell or Adm Trench
-2 have an obvious spot in potential existing dioramas
-no "correction" figures
-One character doesn't have a name but more of a "descriptive title" ***like "Rancor Keeper"
-Sandcrawler and droid outline on the picture
-Diodes on left side- reference to Marvin the depressed droid in Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

**The letter Q??? - Adam responded to a "what did I win?" with this... this one could be a joke, or perhaps one of the characters has a Q in their name (starts with Q is pretty tough to do)
 
The unique packaging with legs probably means the box will be in the shape of an astromech with legs. I hate this more and more.

And totally agree with what others have said. To call this SA and right in line with TVC and black series is completely deceptive and misleading.
 
I still have faith in Adam.
These are 5 characters that have never been done before. If it's all astromechs, it will be disappointing, but it's still leaps beyond what we've gotten lately.
 
This could still be saved if we get 6 different Droid sculpts. For example:

1. B-U4D (Buford)
2. AP-5 (the purple protocol droid from Rebels)
3. The Black Imperial Communications droid from Rebels (not sure if it has a name)
4. A Gonk Power Droid that hasn't been made. I'm sure there is one?
5. An obscure R2 unit of some kind. Some people speculated the other BAR2-D2 from Jedi.
6. Something else unique.

If it's just 6 R2 repaints, then that's crazy!

Already hinted by Adam and there will be no TFA and no Rebels as well as shooting down the GNK droid
Might get an obscure R2 droid though?

Yeah I know he said no TFA, I was just using examples of different sculpts. To differentiate that possibility from 6 R2 repaints using the same sculpt.

He just says it's amazing so he can go on and on about how they knew there was an astromech set coming and that he was right. (Love the site, don't love the "I'm so amazing" attitude over there).

Only Star Wars reference to salt I know is the Arcona, which could mean Hem Dazon. Originally released as a semi-articulated figure way back.

I certainly won't be impressed if it's all droids.

And doubly not if it's all astromechs.
 
It does make me curious. All the speculation is very interesting. I am excited and nervous at the same time to find out this evening.
 
I would have liked a spacer pack or skiff guard/ jabba palace pack. If it is droids I hope its a varied selection of sculpts rather than just astromech repaints again. R5P8, Huyang, betty bot, leebo and 2 ot astromechs would peak my interest ( or a kotor t3 or t7), but will see.

In an ideal world...it's original trilogy. If it's 6 Skiff Guards, I'd die! But knowing Hasbro, it won't be. I bet it won't even be original trilogy. My pessimistic sense in tingling! I would not remotely be surprise if it's six freaking clones just with new deco.

Was there ever a second R1 droid in the saga? The R1 mold reminds me of a salt shaker. Lol. Long shot.

Not or happy at all with a set of droids. What will be so amazing? The packaging? Possible of a sand crawler or something. Wish they would repaint old uncle Owen, from the comicbook pack, in OT colors and release him in this set. Boooo!

The theme is Droids. And it's sounding more and more like a bunch of R2 and R5 repaints.
 
Sadly it shows how far the hobby has fallen when we are so starved of new sa figures we are frustrated at the thought of a 6 pack of droids simply as it could have been other figures. In the past 6 new astromechs would be well received. I am glad Adam and EE are doing this, hopefully they will be willing to push for further theme packs from hasbro going forward. If we are lucky maybe the fan sites can help give ideas ( maybe a poll)

Maybe we can hope for a protocol, I'd love the obscure background blue R1or a new Gonk or two.

You know, this is so true. I apologize for being hard on the choosing of this pack. I too, applaud Adam and EE for bringing us additions to the collection. I sincerely hope this is the first of many packs.
