I meant I’m not surprised that the announcement was for a repaint figure. It seems to me whenever they do these suprise “drops” they’re almost always repaints.

How about just focus on releasing more regular Stormtroopers to the general public and don't waste manufacturing resources on repaints. Hasbro, you have enough trouble getting regular stuff out to consumers.

It's Haiku/Cheetah. It's one of those with double codenames.

Amen. They should absolutely be selling $15 plain Stormies in a cardboard box just like ML. I’d buy a bunch just for customs. It’s a near perfect figure, minimal paint, win win for Hasbro’s pockets and collectors

The good: Uses the Mando stormtrooper mold. Appears to be screen accurate. NOT a Walmart exclusive.

The bad: Stormtrooper variants should not be overpriced store exclusives (though given the state of things, exclusives seem more readily available than "mainline" figures). Repaints should be used as cost-savers to pad waves that have new sculpts, not as premium-level figures.

The ugly: From the io9 reveal: "Hasbro has heard your demands for new Mandalorian figures, and answered with: well, what if the next Stormtrooper figure came with some light artillery?"

Hasbro has heard and ignored our demands for actual characters. I know Boba, Fennec, and others are coming...someday...hopefully... but it's deflating to see repaint after repaint marched out before the actual key characters get an action figure.

Instead they are using the mold for $27 George Lucas and Artillery Troopers. Han Stormtrooper Disguise can't be too far behind. They will NEVER sell a $16 cardboard box Stormtrooper troop builder at this rate. Maybe a $20 one, if they ever free up the mold to stamp out "plain" stormtroopers again.

I am almost sure that is in the cards after the 3.75 ones sold out in the UK and on shopdisney. It's a no brainer. They should also conjure up a couple of heads, and release 6" fleet troopers too.

Purchased it to compare Hasbro's artillery and accessories versus mine, but, boy, it's $29.14 with taxes.
This hobby became too expensive.

Don’t get me wrong I LOVE all the trooper variants. Especially the oddball ones. But I want them all on the new mold. It’s crap that the GG Stormies are the old mold, especially at the price. And the bottom line is Hasbro would be printing money with cheaper army builder stormtroopers.

Perhaps this is how they pay for an all new mold, over priced Exclusives? So it's possible that one day you might see a cheaper army builder version on Pulse just like with ML.
