Boo.. so it was you and your friend that caused the maaaad issues with collecting the tazos!!???!!!
As far as memory serves, there were a few tazos that people only received by contacting the companies with dire complaints over the (non) availability of some of the numbers. Again if memory serves right there were 4 particular #'s that a lot of people never got.
The most obvious one being #150, then 112, 130, and #144.
What was funny, for me, is that I did in fact pull 2 of the #150's from the large chip bags, stoked at getting the first, shocked at finding a second. We had a local trader dealing in these tazos, (making a bomb) and I remember the day, I only had to get 144 for the complete set, so I went to see the trader, joined a large queue, and waited my turn, only to be refused with the words "no don't have any". Much to my delight, I told the trader I had a number 150 to trade (and just wanted a swap, no money involved), the trader nearly jumped me, saying he just found a #144 he could trade with. I small crowd of people were, literally, climbing over the top of each other to get to the trader and myself. I was then approached by a guy afterwards who just stated "nice work", meaning calling the trader's lie that he didn't have one.
To be honest I was delighted to then have a complete set, but was a bit disappointed I didn't push the trader for my benefit, seeing as though he sold it for $80 (highest bidder) right there in front of me. I should have done that to him.. snakes..
What a schmozzle though, the release of those silly tazos. 10 years later people are still trying to find the 1 or 2 they never got legitimately, for a reasonable price.
I also have the 3 model ships that were included with the set (x-wing, TIE fighter, shuttle) which are still in the original packaging and never put together - my son may want to play with them in years to come.
A friend on the inside eh'... that's what caused the problem with the line. Dirty work Sy.. But.....It's not what you know, I guess.
Edit: Not my place, but.. perhaps you can work out a deal with Mr. Gunner, I would suggest a fair price seeing as though you paid what? for them. You have 4 sets, you say, If you are to lose 1 or 2 from a set and sell the others from your now incomplete set, you'll still be waaaay ahead, still with 3 sets (1 to keep 2 to sell on later). You have the opportunity to make another fan and collector a very happy person, and have the chance to line your pocket a little, don't be so greedy, or don't expect help from others.
You give, and receive from others, everyday. My opinion.. and yes, I would.
