He darn near begs people to set up but less and less people do. He approached me again at the ECCC but I just can't set up there. Maybe if the table were dirt cheap like they are at Lake City.

Sad thing is you can find more and better toys at Lake City now.

<font size="2" face="arial">The show didn't even have as much floor space as it used to. The longer room was closed off halfway in.

Where is this Lake City that you mention? Is it an on-going vender show?

I found Bossk, Dengar, and Ozzel at the K-Mart on 6th Ave in Tacoma this morning. There were at least two or of each. I only picked up Bossk since the others don't interest me.

That same store had Valor Vs Venom wave 2 for anyone interested in the GIJoe lines.

Found the Toys R Us exclusive X-Wing with Red Leader at the Everett Mall TRU last night (there were 2 more on the floor). Also snagged the last TIE Fighter Pilot and Captain Antilles.

Picked up a couple of X-Wings at the Lynnwood TRU tonight. They had plenty left.

Too bad the four clones I got with it had such junky bubbles.

Stopped by Redmond Target this morning. They had the remnants of the Hall of Fame assortment including Han, Luke, 3PO and many more. Probably about a half case.

Plus....they had a Jabba's R2 and a few other newer figs.

<font size="2" face="arial">I thought the same here on the eastside/North Seattle. I guess in my case, patience and luck finally paid off. Went to go for something for wifey wife and found new figs.

If you look through the previous pages, the Eastside Targets have been very fruitful for new figures.

The lack of figures sounds like a specific store instance instead of a more regional problem.

I'd highly recommend enhancing your searches with runs to Fred Meyers/TRU, as many finds have been made there too.

That's true..but the Woodinville will get one case in, and then you won't see anything forever. The Freddies near my house only seems to stock the deluxe figures. But I try to go to Target in Woodinville on my lunch break when I can. That is really the only time I can go on toy runs.

Stopped by the Redmond Fred Myer for a Cadbury Egg. Found a J'Quille, and 2 each of the Lando Wave including Holo Luke.

Plus a frozen Luke, which is just cool in it's own right.

I left it all there for you guys, because I have all this already.....(It's very cool to be caught up, and I hope one of you guys gets this and catches up too).

Well, I'm stuck at home, and S.O.O.L. on getting that J'Quille.

Are any of you interisted in comics, and know where to get the free Star Wars Tales comic today?

I also saw red five's x-wing at the Lynnwood TRU, there are a few left as of last night.

Also, I found a new e-mail address yesterday! My buddie's bro works for Google, and he got me a test account for gmail...so I snagged the address bobafett@gmail.com. Gmail is going to be a BIG hit btw.

later,
Bill

I picked the last Geonosian Fighter at the Puyallup Target today for $9.98 and the last Geonosian War Room II at the Tacoma Target for $4.98. Shame it looks as though I'll have to pay full price for the other half of the War Room though.

Saw two J'Quilles at the Fred Meyers on 72ns St in Tacoma, WA.

KB at the Tacoma Mall has the Geonosian War Room sets and Jedi Council sets for $7.99, so I finished my War Room today.

J'Quille is only at Fred Meyers in this area. I've had no trouble finding him in at least 4 different stores.

Went on a run today:

- The Woodinville Target had the Ozzel/Bossk wave.
- The Redmond Target had remanants of the HOF wave and CW wave 2
- The Factoria Target had the Hoth wave
- The Bellevue TRU had Red Leader and only two Silver Clone Troopers left

Happy Hunting!

Oh Happy Day!!!

Found J'Quille today at the Issaquah Fred Meyer! Tatooine wave is COMPLETE!!!

Take that, Scalpers!

Anyhoo, There were two there and I only picked up one of them. The rest of the stuff there was the other parts of the Tatooine and Hoth waves. Plenty of Rappertunie's and such. Also had a good selection of Ultra figs (Jabba wave).

Good Luck and Good Hunting!

Yeah, scalpers are a dying breed (Thank God) but when every figure except the overpriced ones on eBay are in the store (and we're talkin about FULL pegs!) it's obvious that someone is trying to make a fast buck at the expense of good collectors.

But enough of that rant...

It was good that I finally found the fig. What's really good news is that Fred Meyer is finally bringing in new product! Big thanks to cafortier for giving me the heads up on FM having the goods. I haven't been going into these stores in months and it was the first time this year that I went into one.

FYI: FM-Renton has new product but it's nothing but the Hoth wave.

Guess we'll have to keep our collective eye on FM for a while.

Yep, FM seems to be the place to be for finding the new stuff. There is an FM in Tacoma that has pegs stuffed with the Jabba, Hoth, and Tatooine waves. All except Janus, T'Quille, and Skiff Lando 'natch. They also have all the deluxe figs (even the new Obi-Wan and Jango) and Clone Wars vehicles are on sale for $16.

Believe it or not, the worst store for me in Pierce County of late is Target. I've only gotten a new fig there once in two months and it was the HOF R2. Before that is was an animated Clone Wars Yoda back in Feb.

Just to let you all know, I was at the Fred Meyers on 19th and 72nd in Tacoma today and someone has taken to bending creases into the upper right corners of the cards at the 72nd St store. I'm not a MOSC collector, so this doesn't bother me too much. I just hope it doesn't turn into a habit.

As for what was there, 72nd St has mostly Hoth Luke and Rebel Trooper, Bar2, Skiff Lando and one each of Secret Ceremony Amidala, Wat Tambor, and HOF Leia.

19th St has a bunch of the Hoth Wave, Bar2, R1-G4, Jedi and Holo Luke with a few Skiff Landos and Rappertunies mixed in. I;m tempted to pick up the Trade Fed Tank, but $16 is still too much for me.

What can I say? I'm cheap.

Take that, Scalpers!
<font size="2" face="arial">I'm sure I felt a tremor in the force yesterday, as if thousands of scalpers suddenly cried out in unison....

Oh wait, "scalpers" haven't been a problem in this hobby for me since about 1996.

Still, I'm glad you finally found your figure. I didn't find mine at retail until after I had gotten it from another member here, myself.

<font size="2" face="arial">Yeah, my post was referencing the store on 19th. I don't get out to the other one very often. I'm a carded collector so I better not meet up with this card bender...

I caved on the Trade Fed Tank and got one. I missed out the first time it was released and it is a cool looking toy. Plus FM has a decent return policy so if I find it cheaper in the next 3 months, I'll return the one I got.

I myself am not a MOC collector, but card bending in my view is Chickens**t tactics. If anyone finds this guy, let me know. We'll take him out to the back parking lot and let'em have it Casino-style!
<font size="2" face="arial">I do it sometimes.
Only on figures I'm about to buy though.

<font size="2" face="arial">Well, I can understand their intentions. I mean, in their minds they are "thwarting scalpers". They probably think they're doing a kid, or an opener like me a favor (and they are by leaving it there bent)...and that they're only hurting people who buy things for profit.

However...they end up hurting the carded collector, and that's not cool. Plus, "scalpers" don't seem to care much about Star Wars figures anymore. I mean....do a search for "Tanus" or "J'Quille" on Ebay (or whatever you think the hardest to find figure is) and you won't find TOO many up there.

So their idea of "fighting scalpers" is a little flawed any way you slice it. Scalpers are more of a boogeyman to blame the fact you can't find the most recent figures on. When I can't find something, I blame it on my fellow collectors...because I KNOW you guys are out there (I've seen you). I haven't seen a "Scalper" in ages.

Still, I will continue to buy the most bent cards I can find, since I'm only opening the figures and throwing away the packages anyway. That's my little way of helping the situation here in Seattle.

JoshEEE, I completely agree with you.

Just looking out for the MOC guys.

As for our fellow collectors, that's the way the game works and I think that's why most of us are out there.
It's a game.
It's fun.
And even though I might run into someone who beat me to something, it is always great to meet people who share the same passion.

See ya in the aisles!

EDIT: as a note, I ran into a scalper back around 97' in the Renton Fred Meyer and this guy was such a slimeball that I wanted to go home and scrub myself raw.

<font size="2" face="arial">Thanks you couldn't have said it better.

The whole "scalper" debate bugs me. The fact is the only people that can make money selling new SW figures on eBay are those people in Hong Kong who get them 4 months early.

There just really isn't any scalping of modern day SW anymore. There are really only about a dozen modern era figures that really worth a lot more than retail.

"Scalper" is now a term that gets used because someone beat you to the hook so they must be a "scalper" and not just a fellow collector.

I have run into a lot of collectors on my local toy runs and I don't honestly suspect any of the of scalping.
