Any point in keeping packaging?

I’m moving across the county and I’m trying to weed out unneeded things. I have just about every piece of packaging from toys I purchased from 1995 to 2015. From POTF2 to The Black Series, I’ve got boxes and boxes in my attic of cardbacks and flattened boxes. I’m a terrible hoarder with this stuff and now I’m trying to assess if I should just dump it in the trash. Is there any point in keeping it?

Unfortunately the carboard to many is trash, it would have to take the right person to come along who'd be interested, especially if buying it. I've tried to sell a few mint boxes and it never turned out well and usually end up taking a loss on shipping. So I just throw it all away. If I were to be moving cross Country I'd definitely part with it as it's already hectic enough to pack "wanted" items.

I like to save the packaging if there was a diorama as part of it like Battle Packs for example. I'd throw everything besides the background away though.

I certainly have my share of backdrops from a ton of battle packs! lol

That's not counting a couple boxes of empty boxes in my mother attic, which I do need to finally address as she's been gone 6 years now...

For a move I would just dump all of them. If you haven’t used them in that time you won’t use them ever.
This. I have that same mentality as the OP about saving packaging. But, I recently moved and used that same logic to get rid of a bunch of backdrops and packages just sitting in a box for years. I figured if I ever get around to needing a nice background for my display shelf I can print something nice that is custom sized for it.

The only thing about the boxes is that if one was to ever sell anything it would be better to have the box. I still struggle with that.

I’ve gotten more and more likely to KEEP packaging, after throwing everything away for close to 40 years. Now, I feel like the boxes are becoming an appealing and displayable product for me. But you yourself know whether or not you’ll ever really miss them.

Absolutely, some collectors still collect packaging. I would try sell them.

This is pretty much where I'm at. With this round of collecting it's been drilled into me to keep all the boxes and packaging just in case of moving, selling, or even just giving things away.

In this situation, this is probably the advice I would give.

Since the OP was from last July, I'm curious how the move went for porcellus and what they ended up doing.
