75244 Tantive IV

Per brickshow.com, https://brickshow.com/2019/04/new-lego-star-wars-tantive-iv-75244-slated-for-may-the-4th! Looks cool, but I am really hoping for a UCS star destroyer for this fall. Can anyone at celebration confirm, or has it been mentioned?

Nothing has been revealed about the supposed 75422 Tantive IV, but there's a reveal coming up in the 20A panel at 1:30.

Another one I can save money on. I have the Tantive IV that was released 8-9 years ago, and this one doesn't look all that different from the previous version.

just placed my order for the Tantive IV and got the exclusive mini Battle of Hoth set as well. Can't wait for this set. The Rebel Blockade Runner is one of my favorite Rebel Ships. I remember being in awe of it from way back in 1977 when the ship 1st graced the big screen in Star Wars

I wasn't so convinced about this set, even after all the promotional pictures and comparison to previous versions....

BUT....

Seeing it in person at the Lego Store changed my mind, and I squealed like a little pleasure piggy when I picked it up.

Brickstuff is planning a light kit for the Tantive IV already.

I fitted some of their lights to my UCS Falcon and it was pretty straightforward. Be good to get the engines of the Tantive IV blazing!

So how do those light kits work? Do you have to install them as part of the initial build or can you just retrofit them later?

Retro fit them - it's easy. I've done two so far:

Thanks! Good to know. I might get a kit for the UCS Falcon down the road, but I don't see doing the build up anytime soon... ;(

I built mine today. Not a bad build, it’s sturdy. I wish had it had some sort of stand so it’s not resting on cannons and whatever that loudspeaker thing towards the back is supposed to be.

I'm sure one of the companies that make perspex stands, like Wicked Bricks, will come up with something. (Laser Labs seem to have disappeared a few months ago.)

Personally I'd like to make a cradle out of Technic lift arms, a bit like Efferman's vertical stand.

I am surprised that this set is going to be retired in December of next year! Seems like a short run. Wondering if it isn't selling like they hoped? I noticed in the list of sets to be retired, http://www.rebelscum.com/story/front/Nothing_Lasts_For_Ever_LEGO_Retiring_Star_Wars_Sets_185078.asp, the UCS Y-Wing (75181) wasn't mentioned and that set has been around for a little while. Guessing it must be selling a little better?

I finished this build last weekend, and then spent two hours trying to redesign the radar dish. I have no idea what they were going for with the original build, but it was awful and made no sense.

At a guess, it was the incorporation of the handle that was first and foremost in their mind.

I finally got this set, after drooling over it for so long. I didn't have any of the previous versions and always wanted the Corellian corvette in my collection. I had a lot of fun building it and I am really pleased with the finished model, even knowing its imperfections

I recently moved and my radar dish came apart in the process. As i was putting it back together without instructions I was trying to remember if it had some sort of play factor. I an't figure out what they were going for wither. I thought maybe the scene from where it releases from the capital ship and escapes Vader in Rogue One where the dish swivels but the parts don't really support that movement.
