Who’s picking up this Release of the 501st Clone Trooper?

It’s an odd choice to source from, especially since the color isn’t the lighter blue we had in that show. The numbering is also odd.

Either way, it’s whatever. Not an immediate purchase for me.

i'd thought #240A instead of straight up #240 again. regardless, i'm passing on this

I like the card art more than the figure.

I was hoping for this, to be honest. The 4-Pack only having one of these guys didn't quite sit right with me and I was hoping to grab one or two more 501st to fill out ranks. Hope they keep this mold going through clone variants for a little while.

Picked 1 up for the carded collection, think I’m done with Clones after this!

Easy pass. I got enough when the 4 pack went on sale.

I find it funny that the blue on the card art seems to match the BS Appo they released last year.

the 4 pack only came with one and I gave it to ROTS, so I'll pick up at least one of these for the Obi-Wan shelf. Could maybe fit more on Mando, BOBF, or Clone Wars too but.. not at full price.

I really wish Hasbro would figure out what approach they want to take with numbers and card backs. Axe Wolves, they repack the SAME exact figure on a new card back, it gets a new number. They pack the SAME Rebel Fleet Trooper on a new card back and it gets a new number. They change one shoulder on Bo-katan, new card back, new number. This figure is retooled, new image and card back, but they keep the original VC number?

^ and cw ahsoka, new cardback same #. Recent Din, new accessory, and an "A" #. Recent Vader, same card art/logo, new #. No consistency.

I was watching SWTV MM stream this morning and Tyler hit it on the nose, they've totally lost the plot with regard to numbering. it no longer makes sense from figure to figure.
For instance, they changed the number from VC60 to VC240 because it was now on Clone Wars card instead of ROTS yet the figure was the same sculpt. Only difference was media/image.

Then along comes this new one on all new sculpt, which in the past was enough to get a totally different number. Seemingly the only thing that retains the OG number is a straight reissue, like with Evazan, Aurra Sing etc.

There are two glaring reasons why this release should have a new number, new sculpt and new cardback title/image sourcing different media.
This isn't even a case of "same character" like some are suggesting, like with Evazan. This is a nondescript troop builder, otherwise he'd be called Appo. And speaking of "same character", if they made an all new Evazan mold, are you telling me they'd retain VC57 numbering?

IMO they just made it more complicated and a PITA, are they running out of numbers or simply worried about getting to 500 way too early?
In all honestly, I'm so glad I no longer care or pay attention to numbering it would absolutely such to be a carded completionist today. And this kind of misstep could cost Hasbro some of the OCD collectors who feel there's no longer a reason to be a completionist thus passing on ore and more stuff.

I stopped caring about numbers when the Mouse Droid and Salacious Crumb were given numbers.

It gets even more complicated when you account for the double VC177, the Leia 150 mix up and the XXX-A figures. I think they have done what, three of them now? Sith trooper 162/162A Mando 312/312A and Crumb 66/66A. I stopped caring about the numbers as far as being a completest, because quite frankly, there are just some figures I don't want. It's just sort of annoying because those figures that I do have still on card, I try to store in boxes by number.

While I understand Pulse get fewer units on average than most other retailers, I noticed this figure's preorder has sold out twice. Now it's back to low stock, so either some cancelations or something. But if it sold out this quickly then it seems there definitely seems to be a larger demand than I was expecting. Though Clones do tend to sell through pretty well anyway. It will be interesting to see how well it does long term and on other sites.

My hope is that it leads to us getting a Shock Trooper this year as well!

Ok, so I can be clear, this is a repack (same mold and all) or essentially same character but different sculpt and phase?
