Okay, it maybe where I live vs else where, but it seems that we are not seeing the same level of figures in the 3.75in line that we once saw, the movie is out, yet there are no new figures hitting the shelves, and in fact prior to and up to the movie opening very little appeared beyond the first wave. Have you guys at Hasbro stopped with putting the characters we see on the screen on cards for the 3.75in line?

From what I've read, shipments of TLJ merchandise are down 47% compared to what was shipped out for TFA, in 2015. It's an industry wide slump that only Lego seems to be immune to at the moment.

In these days, when kids can carry around movies, video games, and TV shows in their pockets, theatrically released movies are just not the draw that they used to be and they definitely don't drive merchandising like they used to.

TLJ did have a minimal showing at retail, with little variety among the basic assortment and only one wave of TBS 3.75. They hit hard with wave 1 for the basic line, but it was unfortunately followed by a refresh wave with Yoda and Obi and all carry forwards. When wave 2 hit, there were too many carry forwards like Rose and Hux warming the pegs. Wave 2 included a Jyn figure, which was an instant pegwarmer as well. They should have skipped the refresh wave and went directly to wave 2, and dropped Jyn for a new TLJ character like Connix instead. They had a smaller window for this movie, so they should have focused on getting more variety into 3 waves.

It's true that less kids are interested in toys, and many collectors left the hobby over the years, so they had to scale back from the numbers that were released for TFA, as they overestimated demand.
