Just thought I would drop this on here for more overall topics rather than just specific figures.

Does anyone that's getting into this line feel a little "odd" getting Fett or the Stormtrooper as their first figure? Personally, it just feels like it should have been Luke to start it all off.

The only thing I feel odd about is the price. I mean for what we get it sure isn't worth it. They look great, but the value isn't there. As long as the non exclusives are priced as a standard Mini Bust $50-60 I will bite.

As for not getting Luke first it doesn't seem weird to me. I would had loved to get R2 and 3PO first.

I totally forgot about R2 and 3P0! Have we seen prototypes of them yet in this scale?

Also, has there been any talk yet about when/how this line will be sold? They're not going to make ALL the figures exclusives... are they?

Re: 12\" Jumbo Vintage Kenner Line General Discussion.

The order I would have liked to have seen would be:

Luke
R2
Leia
Chewbacca
Vader
Han
C-3PO
Stormtrooper
Obi-Wan
Death Squad Commander
Sand People
Jawa

It's just more of an order of vintage release.

Re: 12\" Jumbo Vintage Kenner Line General Discussion.

Because to most people, "Boba Fett" is the coolest, rarest, most awesomist character in Star Wars. It's the same for "Snake Eyes" or "Storm Shadow" from G.I. Joe, everybody loves them because everybody else does. I agree, Luke should have been first for nostalgic reasons but as you can see, Fett blew away the Stormtrooper right out of the gate. It's kind of a self-fulfilling prophecy (or people are sheep), when everybody says Fett is the coolest, most people will fall in line and agree...

Hope I didn't hurt anyones feelings with this post...

Re: 12\" Jumbo Vintage Kenner Line General Discussion.

No feelings hurt...lol. Just don't question my reasons for buying these again!

I see your point on them wanting to start it off with a bang by going after the characters that would get the most attention. Hopefully, now that they've got that out of the way, they can tackle the characters in a more natural release order.

Re: 12\" Jumbo Vintage Kenner Line General Discussion.

If you go back, GG has started off nearly all their lines with Boba. If not all. I think those Customz or whatever were the only line without the Fett.

Fett was the first in the Mini Bust line?

Fett wasn't first, well maybe an argument could be made for Jango, bit the Armless Wonders were the first wave of Mini-Busts in 2002. Boba Fett didn't come out until 2003.

A minty-fresh Jumbo Fett showed up at Blue Snag HQ tonight. It is sweet.

He is displayed next to my two Stormies. Can't wait for the next two (Han and Chewie).

I personally wouldn't mind a "loose" option for purchasing these figures. I have little desire for the package and it would save on shipping- It could be a throw back to the old Kenner baggies!

Actually at one of the collecting panels at CV this was a trivia question. The answer was apparently Mace Windu. The person who answered the question got a 12'' GG stormtrooper!

Until I get my "Star Wars Room" to display my collectables these bad boys will need to be stored. The shipping boxes for these things will take up too much space. Does anyone have any suggestions for plastic bins from Target, Wal-Mart, etc. that will fit a few of these guys comfortably?

Re: 12\" Jumbo Vintage Kenner Line General Discussion.

Just got confirmation from GG - the vintage figures will NOT be sold at TRUs (this was a rumor floating around recently).

Believe the edition sizes are going to be kept on the low side for this line. The idea is to make it highly collectible.

I guess there was little truth to the article in one of the latest ToyFare mags. The article said GG was planning on making thes a "General Release" item, and even said the price point was to be around $20.00! We asked the GG rep at CV and he did say they were supposed to hit retail, but he didn't say in exactly what manner.

Thanks for the confirmation Snags!

Any idea when they'll put the next 2 up for pre-order?

That would be awesome if they dropped the price to $20.

Either way this line has got me excited about Star Wars collecting again.

I think if these do end up getting a mass release and price dropped to $20 a lot of people are going to be pissed.

Awesome news.

All I want is to be able to buy them at Retail as I am a fan of "the hunt"

20 bones sounds like a massive stretch. It sure would be sweet though. I hope they at least come down to around $50 or less.

If they were 20 I would be a lot less picky and get a lot of them. But for now I'm going to limit myself to just getting a few since I can't justify spending that much.

Yes! is being a premium gold member a sure thing? I noticed the stormy is way cheaper on the GG website than if you buy through other online retailers...

Based on the first 2 releases, the PG members will probably get first dibs, ya know, "guaranteed" preorder and such. Then they'll probably make it available to everyone some time after that.

Does anyone if anymore 12" are going to be released this year?

I am going to pay the $60 to become a member just to make sure I can get these, but don't want to pay now, then have to pay again in Jan.

Re: 12\" Jumbo Vintage Kenner Line General Discussion.

The $60.00 does seem worth it if you're going to collect all 12 (or even two). I bought the Boba and stormtrooper from brian's toys and with shipping etc. it worked out to $200.00 per figure... I'm would like to try and get all of the original 12 but I'd have to re-mortgage my place if I keep paying $200.00 a pop!
