Thread: Anime Toys & Collectibles

    Re: Anime toys and collectibles?

So true about that, I picked up a couple of Max Factory Kasumis only to find out they were Chinese bootlegs. Had to spend more to get two real ones so now I have four Kasumis, I display the bootleg ones loose and keep the real ones in their boxes. Its really hard to tell the difference unless you know what minor details to look for.

BTW, that is a SWEET Motoko figure you got by Vice, I totally missed out on that one. I assume you're gonna get the upcoming one from Goodsmile? Here's a pic of it if you haven't seen it yet.

A very good site/forum where you can find lots of interesting things about anime figures and especially about bootlegs (and how to spot them) is http://forums.zero-type.com/index.php

I know about the new SSS Motoko but they say it might be a limited Japanese edition only. Hope they change their mind...

    Re: Anime toys and collectibles?

My girlfriend collects some of the cool looking anime chicks. I've got some Evangelion figures, I used to have the whole set of the older Kaiyodo Evas but they got thrown out from my storage room.
I still have my Trigun figures though. I've picked up a random smattering of anime/Japanese video game figures I've found cool, such as:
    Guyver
    Final Fantasy (mostly 7)
    Vampire Hunter D
    Akira
    Street Fighter
    Fist Of The North Star
    Gungrave
    Cowboy Beebop

Japanese toys are usually the best too, I just picked up a FFXII Gabranth figure and he's about as close to a perfect figure as I'll ever see. I used to mainly focus on Anime but I've fallen out of love with it, there are just to many bad ones nowadays every once and awhile though I'm pleasantly surprised by something really great though.

While I don't have pictures yet, I do have a list of Japanese toys. I fear it is too long to post so will simply throw up what toy lines I have items from. I will include domestic releases that are Anime/Game based. I am excluding plastic models, vinyl models, and plush/UFO catcher dolls.

    Re: Anime toys and collectibles?

I will if/when I get around to doing so. I would list each figure, but there must be close to, or over, 700 figures there. I also have an insane amount of anime DVD's and video games.

    Re: Anime toys and collectibles?

Are they PVC 1/8 figures, gashapons, trading figures and/or resin statues?

    Re: Anime toys and collectibles?

Included in that list are action figures Of various sizes, one or two 1/8 PVC figures, and gashapon/trading figures. I have a a few completed resin models not included there. I have a FF VII Aerith and two of Athena Asamiya from King of Fighters. I also did not include the various Plastic Models I have, which are all Gundam models save a Plastic model of Aerith again and two main characters from Marmalade Boy, Miki and Yuu. Maybe I will upload a list of everything then link it here. I do have my game and DVD collections online,

    http://club.ign.com/b/list/custom?li...hael&mode=vown

You now, now that I think of it, I do have a few pictures of various things. I will post the links later on.
